A holiday hunting trip for Anthony Abraham (Linkard) Lipford, age 81, one of Johnson county's most entusiastic fox hunters, and his son, Dana, yesterday ended in the tragic death of the elder LIPFORD in an automobile accident.

Mr. Lipford was struck by an automobile driven by a Butler serviceman home on leave, at 10 o'clock last Wednesday morning as he attempted to cross the Mountain City highway about one-half mile from his home.

The aged man's son said he was partly across the road, but turned back when he saw the automobile approaching. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital, Elizabethton, and never regained consciousness before he died as a result of a skull fracture, attending physicians said. The two men were enroute to Holston Mountain for a hunting trip.

Mr. Lipford was a charter member of Cobbs Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ellen Lipford of Butler; one daughter, Mrs. F. M. LIPFORD of Butler; five sons, Oscar Lipford of Rte. 1 Elizabethton; Tine, Dana, Earl, and Claude Lipford, all of Butler; two brothers, Joe Lipford of Caysville and Arch L. Lipford of Butler; three sisters, Mrs. Mollie HARDIN and Mrs. Etta HEATON of Elizabethton, and Mrs. Litha COCHRAN of Fordtown; 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conduected from Cobbs Creek Baptist Church last Friday afternoon at 2:00 with Rev. M. H. Carder and Rev. Clarence Nelson officiating. Burial was in the Cobbs Creek cemetery.

B. A. Lipford, age 72, died at his home on Pine Street, Sunday morning at 3:20 o'clock after an illness of several weeks.
Mr. Lipford was owner and operator of the Lipford Coal Company here and was in business in Butler prior to coming here. He was a member of the Butler Christian Church.

Beverly Arliss Lipford, age 89 of Shouns (Forge Creek) died at his home Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Johnson County, the son of the late Lewis and Malinda Powell Lipford, and a retired farmer.

Mr. Jimmy Dale Lipford, 80, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on February 28, 2015 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital after an extended illness.
Mr. Lipford was born in Butler, TN on October 27, 1934. He lived most of his life in Carter County. Most will remember his ownership of several service stations and his many friends associated with drag racing and participation in Rod Runs. He and his brother Howard built most of the homes in Crowe Bottom in the Valley Forge Community.
He loved the Tennessee Vols and spending time with his grandchildren. He attended First Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents (Oscar and Lucy Matherly Lipford), he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, (Patricia Rose Lipford), and his brothers, (Howard and Ray). Survivors include his daughters, Lisa Pilkington (and husband, John) and Stephanie Nave (and her husband, Kenneth), and his sister, Charlotte Williams, a niece, (Betty Jo Greene), and his grandchildren, who were the loves of his life, (Matt and Conner Nave). Several other nieces and nephews also survive.
A visitation period will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 PM in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. A service to honor the life of Mr. Lipford will be conducted at 7:00 PM following the visitation on Tuesday. Rev. Nathan Jennings and Rev. Jack Lloyd will officiate and music will be provided by Grady and Alicia Holder.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Johnny Honeycutt, Danny Williams, Dennis Berry, Doug Deloach, Tony Greene, Joe Hyder, and Edwin Alexander. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Lipford, Steve Sorrell, Dr. David Fenner, and Bob Strickland. Mrs. Mae Deloach, 93, 413 Peachtree Lane, Elizabethton, died Friday, October 29, 1999, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness.

Mrs. Deloach was a native of Johnson County and a daughter of the late Arch and Tish Sluder Lipford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill Deloach, in 1973, a daughter, Julie Carr, a son, Herbert Deloach, two grandsons, five brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Deloach had lived most of her life in Carter County. She was a member of the Cobbs Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Ruby Morton, Lula Bell Frazier and Joan Jarrett, all of Elizabethton, and Betty Stevens, Hampton; two sons, Buddy Deloach and Clif Deloach, both of Elizabethton; and one sister, Beulah Kyte, Butler. Sixteen grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

A native of Butler, she was a daughter of the late Archiebald and Latitia Sluder Lipford. She was a retired employee of Timberland Boot Manufacturing Company, Mountain City. Beulah loved her family, loved to quilt and work in her garden. She was a member of the Cobbs Creek Baptist Church and the Sanctuary Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Haskiel Reece Kyte, August 21, 2001; by three brothers: Jess, Homer and Fred Lipford; Two Sisters: Cassie Green and Mae Deloach; and by three infant brothers and three infant sisters. Survivors include her children: Barbara Kyte "B.K." McCloud and her husband, Jim, Oxford, North Carolina, Garry G. Kyte and wife, Barbara, Butler, and Nyoka Kyte Weaver and her husband, Melvin, Butler; One Grandson: Alan Todd Kyte; Several Nieces & Nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2013, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Alan Koch officiating. Interment will follow in Butler Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Wayne Lipford, age 22, of Butler, Tennessee, died of pneumonia, Friday at a local hospital.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Lipford, of Butler; two sisters, Mrs. Horace Peters, of Baileytown, Tenn. and Miss Mary Lipford of Butler; and two brothers, Kermit and B. H. Lipford, Jr., of Butler.
The remains will be taken to his home in Butler, where funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon.
Wayne was a very popular young man and was associated with his father in the coal business in Elizabethton. He was a former student of Milligan College. He made friends with whomever he came in contact with and was loved by all his friends.

Funeral services for Wayne Lipford, popular businessman was held at the Butler Christian church of which Wayne was a member, Sunday afternoon. The Rev. Clarence H. Poage, pastor of the Butler Christian Church officiating. Interment was in the Cobbs Creek Cemetery.
Miss Garnet Williams and Mrs. Morton of Milligan College rendered very impressive solos and a duet accompanied by Miss Spurgeon, piano teacher at Watauga Academy.
The esteem in which Wayne was held was marked by the many beautiful floral offerings and the host of relatives and friends attending the funeral.
Wayne graduated from Watauga Academy of Butler in 1931, and attended Milligan College the following year.
Pallbearers were first cousins and close friends of the deceased and included, Robert I. Fine, Jr., J. F. Fine of Butler, Jas. Franklin Smith of Huntington, W. Funeral services for CLYDE M. LIPFORD, 53, of Butler, veteran school teacher of Johnson county, who died Tuesday, at 9:30 a.m. at his home following a two weeks illness, were held Thursday at Sugar Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Noah Riddle and Rev. Coy Riddle officiating. Interment was in the Sugar Grove Cemetery.

Mr. LIPFORD, who had taught 17 different schools in Johnson county, is survived by his widow, Mrs. Verna Mae LIPFORD; two sons, Mark Lipford of Winchester, Va., and Seaman First Class James Lipfor, stationed with the navy at Green Springs, Fla.; three daughters; Mrs. Ruby DUFF of Winchester, Mrs. Vivian BOBBITT of Knoxville, and Mrs. Connie THOMAS of Butler; one grandchild; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant LIPFORD of Shouns and Roy of North Oak, Va.

Betty was the daughter of Beverly Lipford and Viria Arnold Lipford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: two sisters, Dorothy Riddle and Hazel Powers; five brothers, Claude Lipford, Fred Lipford, Dennis Lipford, Dana Lipford and Arliss Lipford. She loved gardening and flowers.

Betty is survived by her children: Gene Woodard and wife Carol, Hampton, TN, Dana Woodard, Mountain City, TN, Brenda Preece, Creston, NC, Linda Morris, Mountain City, TN, Cathy Woodard, Fort Myers, FL, and Jeffery Woodard and wife Shirley, Mountain City, TN. Kenneth D. Campbell, age 81, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, August 08, 2018. He was born on July 10, 1937 to the late Isaac Newton Campbell and Rebecca Lillie Heaton Campbell. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Campbell Bowers, brothers, Richard Campbell and Leslie Campbell.

Kenneth was a United States Navy Veteran, having retired following 20 years of service. He loved to travel the roads with Sue visiting family, friends and making new friends. He was a skilled and gifted wood craftsman and also enjoyed golf and bowling. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 56 years, Sue D. Campbell, daughter and son-in-law, Elena Mabry and husband Robert, grandchildren, Danielle Mada and husband Adrian, Robert Mabry II and wife Britne, great grandchildren, Anabel, Kamryn, Joshua and Christopher Mabry and Adrian II, Isabella, Guillianna and Giovanni Mada, brother, Wade Campbell and wife Gladys. Mr. Jimmy Dale Lipford, 80, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on February 28, 2015 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital after an extended illness.

Mr. Lipford was born in Butler, TN on October 27, 1934. He lived most of his life in Carter County. Most will remember his ownership of several service stations and his many friends associated with drag racing and participation in Rod Runs. He and his brother Howard built most of the homes in Crowe Bottom in the Valley Forge Community. He loved the Tennessee Vols and spending time with his grandchildren. He attended First Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents (Oscar and Lucy Matherly Lipford), he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, (Patricia Rose Lipford), and his brothers, (Howard and Ray).

Survivors include his daughters, Lisa Pilkington (and husband, John) and Stephanie Nave (and her husband, Kenneth), and his sister, Charlotte Williams, a niece, (Betty Jo Greene), and his grandchildren, who were the loves of his life, (Matt and Conner Nave). Several other nieces and nephews also survive.

A visitation period will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. A service to honor the life of Mr. Lipford will be conducted at 7:00 PM following the visitation on Tuesday. Rev. Nathan Jennings and Rev. Jack Lloyd will officiate and music will be provided by Grady and Alicia Holder.

The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Mr. Carl Shelton Matherly, Sr., beloved husband and loving father, left his earthly family on Sunday, April 22, 2012.

Born in Old Butler, TN on April 1, 1922, he was a graduate of Watauga Academy, Milligan College and East Tennessee State University.

He served in the Army during World War II, where he met the love of his life, Isabel Portrum. He and Isabel enjoyed 62 years of marriage, raising a family and calling Kingsport their home. Together, they were faithful servants of God as members of Waverly Road Presbyterian Church.

Carl began and ended his career with the Sullivan County School System. He was a teacher, coach and administrator for 39 years, first at Lynn View High School then retiring as principal from Sullivan South High School. Many benefited from his devotion to the youth of his community. He was proud to contribute to the success of his students and athletes.

To honor his years of dedication at South High School, the football stadium was named in his honor. Carl was dedicated to his community, serving with many groups and organizations. His role with the TSSAA was his most notable. Carl was first elected to the TSSAA Board of Control in 1965. In 1978 he was elected Chairman, a role he served for 9 years. Carl also served on the Executive Board of the National Federation — a role no other Tennessean had filled. He was honored to be elected into both the Northeast Tennessee Hall of Fame and the TSSAA Hall of Fame.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Verdie Matherly, his brothers Park Matherly and Freddie Matherly, his sisters Mary Martherly Laws, Florence Matherly Trivette and his beloved wife of 62 years, Isabel Portrum Matherly. He is survived by his sister Doris Matherly Snyder, a daughter, Mrs. Martha Parham and husband Tom, a son, Carl S. Matherly Jr, and wife Susan, and two grandsons Joshua Park Matherly and Tyler McKinley Matherly each of whom, have comforted and cared for him in the years since Isabel's passing. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who cherished their "Uncle Charlie."

The family will receive friends at Waverly Road Presbyterian Church from 5-7:00 pm Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Dr. Dan Clark will officiate a service immediately following the visitation.

Ruth Lipford Williams, age 88, Butler, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, March 31, 2013, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Pearl Walsh Lipford. Ruth was a graduate of Watauga Academy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Williams, who died April 27, 1987; by a brother and sister-in-law: Buster and Margaret Peters Lipford.

She has one daughter, Sue Carol Ward and son-in-law, Darrell Ward; and one grandchild, Jamie Darrell and wife, Heather Leigh Ward; One great grandchild, Haleigh Jean Ward; Two nieces, Sherry Lynn and husband, Russell Kyte, and their son, David Kyte, his daughter, Taylor; Glenda Pearl and husband, Wayne Treadway, and their son, William Glenn.

She was a member of Cobbs Creek Baptist Church, an active member until this past year, working in the WMU, Choir Members, Sunday School Teacher, working in Bible School and always making chicken and dumplings for our meetings. She also sent many cards to the sick.

She was the Best Mom a person could have, and we are so proud of her. She would always say "Let's pray about it."

ELIZABETHTON - Jackson Burl "Jack" Lipford, 79, Elizabethton, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at his residence.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late James Homer & Addie Crowe Lipford. Jack attended Elizabethton High School. He was retired as a Supervisor at Industrial Piping, Charlotte, North Carolina after 35 years of service. Jack was a Mason, Shriner and a member of the Oasis Temple. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: James Lipford, Jr and Basil Lipford and three sisters: Beulah Snavely, Shirley Chapel and Roberta Dumpy's. He was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years: Judy Garland Lipford. His children: Michael & Phylis Lipford, Concord, North Carolina, Tammy & Gary Wallace and Todd & Pam Lipford all of Charlotte, North Carolina. 7 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren. One Brother: Robert "Bob" Lipford and two sisters: Mary King and Geraldine Vandeventer. Several nieces & nephews.

Mr. Charles E. Lipford, 86, of Elizabethton, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014 at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following a brief illness.
He was the son of the late Jesse and Gladys Collins Lipford and was born in Carter County.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of forty-one years, Nora Grace Heaton Lipford on November 8, 2008; and a sister, Jo Lipford Smith.
Mr. Lipford was a graduate of Hampton High School, served in the United States Air Force as a radar technician during the Korean War, and graduated from East Tennessee State Teachers College. He taught algebra at Elizabethton High School and retired in 1987 after thirty years of service and was the first teacher in the Elizabethton City School System to be inducted into the Imagination Library Teacher's Hall of Fame.
He was a member of Siam Baptist Church where he served the church as a trustee. Mr. Lipford was an avid fan of both football and basketball at Elizabethton High School and attended most every home game. His hobbies included woodworking, reading and photography and he loved spending time in these activities. He also loved to keep in touch with his friends and former students using social media.
He is survived by a sister, Jessie Montgomery and her husband, Carroll, Elizabethton; two brothers, Gary "Butch" Lipford and his wife, Nancy, Elizabethton; Jimmy Lipford, Elizabethton; his nieces and nephews, Janie McKinney, David Smith, Pat Yelton, Pam Campbell, Becky Raulston, Chipper Montgomery, Gary A. Lipford, Mike Lipford, Chris Lipford, Jaime Lipford, Betty Lipscomb; a sister-in-law, Lucille Heaton and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Lipford will be conducted on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Jack Roddy and Rev. Jacob Guinn officiating. His niece, Becky Raulston, will deliver the eulogy. Music will be under the direction of Robin Montgomery and Bill Anderson.

ELIZABETHTON - Jimmy Lipford, age 84, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 4, 2018, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Jimmy was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee to the late Jesse and Gladys Collins Lipford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Joyce Hampton Lipford; a granddaughter, Robin Yelton; a sister, Jo Smith; and a brother, Charles Lipford.

Jimmy was a loving father and grandfather and retired as a drywall finisher and painter. He was a member of Stoney Creek Church of Christ and enjoyed gardening, yard work, Braves baseball, and supporting his grandchildren's activities.

Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Pamela Campbell and Pat Yelton, both of Elizabethton; two grandchildren, Jordan Yelton and Loran Campbell, both of Elizabethton; a sister, Jessie Montgomery and husband Carroll, of Elizabethton; a brother, Gary "Butch" Lipford and wife Nancy, of Elizabethton; a special friend, Linda Crow, of Elizabethton; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Ruby was an inspiration to all who knew her. She always was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends. All who knew Ruby loved Ruby. She was inducted into the Happy Valley High School Hall of Fame in 1994.

He was a native of Butler and a son of the late, William and Roxie Mae Lipford Deloach. He was also preceded by 1 sister, Julie Carr and 2 brothers, Herb and Buddy Deloach.

Mr. Deloach was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

He had worked for over 20 years for ET&WNC Transportation and was retired from Penske Transportation as a Deisel Mechanic.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Bill and Mae Lipford Deloach.
Lou was a retired cook at Happy Valley High School. Lou loved her family, grandchildren and her church and loved doing woodwork and working in her garden. She was a member of Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Washington Frazier, who died November 21, 2007; a sister, Julie Carr; and three brothers, Buddy, Cliff and Herbert Deloach.

Ora was a dedicated wife of 47 years and a loving mother and grandmother who was a devoted Christian that loved the Lord and her family, especially her only grandson, Philip. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. She loved her church, church family, and ladies circle. Her hobbies included encouraging others on Facebook and the color by number game on her phone.

He was a charter member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. He held several offices including Deacon. He was a former employee of Burlington, TDOT, Johnson County Highway Department and Hux & Lipford Funeral Home.
Buford loved watching Westerns and was a big fan of Clint Eastwood and John Wayne. He had been a NASCAR fan for over 50 years and loved Fords, horses, dirt bikes and especially his four wheeler. He was known as the Mayor of Fall Branch. He loved helping others and was always willing to lend a helping hand to help others out. He loved his church, his family, his friends and his community.

ELIZABETHTON - Sherry Lynn Lipford Kyte, age 71, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at her residence.

She was born to Glenn (Buster) Lipford and Margaret Peters Lipford Edens on July 17, 1947, in Johnson County, TN, but lived most of her life in Carter County. She was proceeded in death by her parents, grandparents, Earl and Pearl Lipford of Butler, and Elijah and Ellen Eggers Peters of Elizabethton and two aunts, Ruth Lipford Williams and Mildred Peters Hart.

Sherry was a graduate of Happy Valley High School, Class of 1965. She worked at Sears for eight and one-half years and retired from Elizabethton Federal Savings Bank after thirty-nine and one-half years.

She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-three years, James Russell Kyte; a devoted son, David Glen Kyte, Elizabethton, TN; her favorite granddaughter, Taylor Jules Kyte, Charlotte, NC; one sister, Glenda (Wayne) Treadway, Dandridge, TN; one nephew, William Glenn Treadway, Murray, KY; cousin/sister, Sue Carol (Darrell) Ward, Butler, TN and many cousins.

Sherry was also blessed with a large family of Kyte-in-laws, whom she loved dearly; special friends, Sherry Maines and Ginny McGee; her Sims Hill Christian Church family; members of The Followers Sunday School Class and special Elizabethton Federal Bank family.

Special caregivers to Sherry were Teresa Phipps, Linda Henry, Shoddie Kyte, Sherry Maines, Ginny McGee, Debbie Reeser, Sue Carol Ward and Glenda Treadway.

Sherry was an active member of Sims Hill Christian Church where she served on several committees including the Youth Committee. She taught children to love Jesus for over fifty years. Being a witness for Jesus was her passion and her faith in Jesus never wavered. She was a strength to all and set an awesome example to her family and friends on how to live for Jesus and love others on a daily basis.

A service to honor the life of Sherry Lynn Lipford Kyte will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, September 6, 2018 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Mr. Bret Jones, minister officiating. Music will be under the direction of Lisa Carter. The funeral service for Mr. Deloach will be conducted on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Ben Sheets officiating. Music will be under the direction of Joel Crisp. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, on Wednesday prior to the service, at his home, or at the home of his mother, at other times.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Myron Montgomery, Rick Hatley, Kenny Bouton, Rob Miller, Chris Blumenstock, and Randy Cross. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Depew and his fellow employees of Volunteer Floor Covering.

Clifford "Allen" Deloach Jr., 49, of Johnson City, died Friday, July 20, 2012, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

He was a native of Carter County, son of the late Clifford Deloach Sr. and Loretta Peters Deloach. Allen had worked for the Service Master Co. and was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Gary Delph Sr.

Survivors include: his mother, Loretta Deloach, of Elizabethton; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Tammy and Steve Bentley, of Elizabethton, and Connie Delph, of Joneborough; a niece, Christy Manning, of Johnson City; two nephews, Stephen Bentley, of Elizabethton, and Gary Delph Jr., of Johnson City; two special friends, Lisa Nunley and Erin Conklin.

A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, July 23, 2012, in the North Chapel of the Morris-Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Pastor Tony Trott.

We are saddened to announce the passing of Tommy Jack Lipford, on December 22, 2022. He was born March 1, 1961 to the late Fred Lipford and Barbara Gentry Lipford.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Susan.

Tommy is survived by his sons, Brandon (Angie) of Damascus VA and Chris (Kelsey) of Mountain City, TN; brother , Wayne (Aril) Lipford; grandchild, Gage Lipford; several nephews; Special friends, Blair Lambert and Melissa Gentry also survive.

It was his wish to be cremated and no formal service held.

Lloyd Ray Johnson age 64, of Mountain City, TN passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol, TN. He was born in Banner Elk, NC on August 16, 1956 to the late Earl Johnson and Lucille Lipford Johnson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Anthony Johnson and Lee Johnson.

Lloyd loved hunting and fishing. He liked to go to the lake and he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memories include his daughter, Susan Johnson and Steven Luchini; son, Bobby Johnson and husband Jhon Agudelo; sisters, Missy Hightower and husband David, Angie Edmisten and husband Steve, Linda Harper and husband Dean; brother, Willie Johnson and wife Janet; grandchild, Charles Johnson and wife Rachel; great grandchild, Owen Johnson; sister-in-law, Janice Johnson; special niece, Jennifer Hightower and Greg and their daughter Paisleigh(squirrel) Jones; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Mountain City Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Charles Johnson to speak. The graveside service and burial will immediately follow at Johnson-Lewis Family Cemetery. Robert Lee Johnson, age 60 of Mountain City, entered his heavenly home on Thursday, June 30, 2020 at his home. Lee was born on January 18, 1960 to Earl and Lucille Johnson in West Grove, PA. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Johnson and entered heaven’s gates meeting his babies he never met on this earth.

Lee was a one of a kind man who would give you the coat off of his back. There was no greater love than he had for his wife and children. Lee was a loving husband for almost 43 years and the greatest Husband, Daddy, and Pawpaw one could ever ask for. He was a brother, a son, an uncle, a friend, an everlasting light in everyone’s life that will never be forgotten.

Larry Anthony Johnson, age 54, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016. He was born on February 5, 1962 to Lucille Johnson and the late Earl S. Johnson. In addition to his father, Anthony was preceded in death by a grandson, Dominique Johnson.

Anthony was an avid outdoorsman. He especially enjoyed ginseng hunting and fishing. Anthony also enjoyed watching westerns. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

Anthony is survived by his mother, Reba Lucille Johnson; daughter, Charity Carrillo; sons: Christopher Johnson and girlfriend Samantha Jones, Gregory Johnson and Aaron Johnson and wife Mistee; loving ex-wife, Mary Alice Herdman; grandchildren: Fantasia Garland, Zachary Garland, Gabbrielle Robbins, Travis Waspi, Isaac Johnson, Aaron Johnson Jr., Hailey Johnson and Ember Johnson; sisters: Linda Harper and husband Willard, Angela Edmisten and husband Steve and Melissa Hightower and husband David; brothers: Lloyd Johnson, Robert L.
