Clara Marie Deloach, 89, Elizabethton, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2021. She was born October 2, 1932 in Heaton, N.C.
Clara was preceded in death by her father, Henry Walter Holden, and mother, Clara Mable Johnson Tyree. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Deloach Sr., and sons, William Howard Deloach Jr. and Henry Walter Deloach; sisters, Phyllis Holden and Annabelle Miller; brothers, Ernest Holden, Bill Clyde Holden and Paul Henry Holden; and sister and brother-In-law, Frances and Roy Burrow.
Clara was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church and the Emma Williams Sunday School Class for more than 60 years.
Survivors include daughters, Joann Odom and husband Roger and Teresa Hambrick and husband R.L.; grandchildren, Dale Odom, Remetha Loving, Rebecca Simmons, Chris Hambrick, Keith Hambrick, Bonnie Peters, Kelly Chapman and Eddie Deloach; 18 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; brother, Charles (Iva Lee) Holden; sister, Peggy Laws; sisters-in-law, Jackie Holden and Maxine Holden; many loving nieces and nephews, and cousins who are like sisters to her.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 27, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Nathan Jennings officiating. Pallbearers will be the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Signature Health Care, Elizabethton.

Evelyn JoAnn Deloach Odom, 73, Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, January 28, 2023, at her residence. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late William Howard Deloach Sr. and Clara Marie Holden Deloach. Evelyn was a housewife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a member of Valley Forge House of Prayer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Deloach and William Deloach Jr. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Roger Odom Sr.; two daughters, Remetha Dawn Loving and Rebecca Dianne (Melvin) Simmons, all of Elizabethton; a son, Roger D. (Kathy) Odom Jr., Hampton; one sister, Teresa (R.L.) Hambrick, Elizabethton; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Allen Simerly and Pastor Tim Hughes officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, in the Patton-Simmons Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Wendell Loving II, Logan Loving, James Cates, Ronald Odom, Jonathan Odom, Kristopher Simmons, Michael Simmons and Jerry Humphrey. Honorary pallbearers will be her church family, Richard Yeager and Greg Miller. A special thanks to Dr. Nick@Karing Hearts Cardiology, Dr. Jeff Gaca, Duke Medical Center and Melissa Baumgardner RN, Amedisys Hospice.
