    Eric Scott Oliver, 50, Elizabethton, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 9, 2021. He was born April 23, 1971 in Johnson City.
    Scott was a graduate of Hampton High School. He was self-employed in the lawn business. Prior to that he was employed at Douglas Dynamic for 20 years. He loved fishing, hiking, loved being with friends and he loved his children with all his heart. He was of the Baptist Faith.
    Scott was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carl and Nora Hardin, and his paternal grandparents, Stacey and Helen Oliver.
    Survivors include his children, Sydney Oliver and Nicholas Oliver; his father, Stacey Oliver Sr. and his wife Ternia, Maiden, N.C.; his mother, Sherry Fortner and husband Kenneth, Elizabethton; a sister, Carla Schroeder and husband Tony, Maiden, N.C.; a brother, Stacey “Jimmy” Oliver, Elizabethton; a special aunt, Charlotte Williams; a special uncle, Carl Hardin Jr.; one niece, Alanna Sigmon; one nephew, Brandon Arthur; a great-niece, Baby Holland; many cousins and many friends he loved very much including his best friend, Dale Campbell, and all his friends at Douglas Dynamic.
    The graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 14, in the Caldwell Springs Cemetery with Dr. Alan King officiating. Music will be provided by Amy Banner. Interment will follow the service. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 3:20 p.m. Saturday, will be Dale Campbell, Keith Foster, Hal Nave, Terry Banner, Brian Kyte and Leslie Grindstaff. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Nave and Chris Roberson.
