    Rosa Williams Stout, age 100, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Hillview Health Center in Elizabethton, Tennessee. She was born in Carter County on August 22, 1922, to the late William M. Williams and Mattie Lyons Williams. Rosa was of the Baptist faith and loved going to church. She loved reading, especially her Bible.  She was a homemaker who loved cooking and gardening. Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Fred C. Stout; three sons, Darrell Stout, McKinnley F. Stout, and Dayton Stout along with several brothers and sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Shelby Mottern and Charlotte Caudill, both of Elizabethton; one son, Ron Stout of Elizabethton; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A committal and entombment service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 19, 2023, in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Jeff Wilson officiating.

    Notes:

    Jasper Williams, age 91, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 25, 2019 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Jasper was born in Elizabethton to the late William and Mattie Lyons Williams.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances White Williams; a daughter, Debra Lancaster; three brothers, Roby Williams, Grady Williams and Albert Williams; and two sisters, Grace Arnold and Goldia Williams.

    Jasper was both a United States Navy veteran, where he had served in World War II and a United States Air Force veteran, where he retired as a Technical Sergeant E-6. After retiring from the military he was employed for 19 years as the Elizabethton Finance Director, where he also retired. He was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church, where he had served as a Deacon for over 38 years and also as a Sunday School teacher. Jasper enjoyed his church work, gardening, hunting and fishing and being outdoors.

    Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 31 years, Marvella Williams, of the home; a son, Douglas Williams and wife Beth, of Elizabethton; a sister, Rosa Stout, also of Elizabethton; two grandsons, Jason Lancaster, of Boones Creek and Nathan Lancaster, of Murfreesboro, TN; three great grandsons, Noah Lancaster, Hayden Lancaster and Fletcher Lancaster, all of Murfreesboro; one stepson, Michael Johnson and wife Michelle, of Elizabethton; one step grandson, Randall Johnson, of Elizabethton; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

    A service to honor and celebrate the life of Jasper Williams will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 29, 2019 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Bill Davis, officiating. Music will be provided by Mr. Joey Cole. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Friday or at the residence at other times.

    The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Military honors will be accorded by the VFW Honor Guard Bristol Post 6975. Active pallbearers will be Randall Johnson, Dallas Williams, Kent Williams, Dale Williams, Don Shepherd, Jerry Ray and Jason Hartley. Honorary pallbearers will be Biltmore Baptist Church Members.

    ELIZABETHTON - Dayton Ray Stout, age 71, of Elizabethton, Tennessee passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 5, 2023. Dayton was born in Elizabethton, a son of Rosa (Williams) Stout and the late Fred C. Stout. In addition to his father, Dayton was also preceded in death by two brothers, McKinley “Mack Foister Stout and Darrell Stout; one half-brother, Fred Stout, Jr.; and one half-sister, Lela Stout Hart.

    Dayton was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and was a United States Army veteran having served in Vietnam. He retired from the United States Postal Service. He received many awards and received much recognition while in service in Vietnam.

    Dayton had a wonderful sense of humor and loved motorcycle racing. He was known as a dare devil and loved all people and had compassion for everyone. In his spare time, Dayton enjoyed working on cars, running, reading books and collecting rocks.

    Those left to remember and cherish his memory include two children: Amy Stout Arccado and husband Glen and Derek Ray Stout (Lori McKinley Stout); his grandchildren, Isaiah Andrew Stout and Elise Valerie Arccado; his brothers and sisters, Ron Stout, Shelby Mottern and Charlotte Caudill. Several nieces and nephews along with other family members also survive.

    The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Monday, March 13, 2023 at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton.

    A graveside service to honor the life of Dayton Ray Stout will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 13, 2023 at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Dayton’s son, Derek, will provide a eulogy for his Dad. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Stout, Sonnie Mottern, Daniel Stout, Gary Hart and Shane Mann.
