Bakersville - Georgia Viola Masters, 84, of Bakersville, died at her home Thursday, July 8, 2004, after a brief illness.
She was a daughter of the late Garrett and Mary Greene Garland. Mrs. Masters was a member of Berea Church of the Brethren, a devoted mother and loving wife to Frank Masters for 66 years.

Mrs. Masters is survived by her husband, Frank C. Masters; daughter, Barbara Masters Reid and husband, Ray, of Bakersville; three sons, Phillip and wife, Norma, Wilburn and wife, Pat, of Bakersville and Wayne and wife, Blanche, of Clear Springs, Md.; three sisters, Hazel Stevens of Bakersville, Fairy Mae Carver of Johnson City, Tenn., and Shirley Yelton of Finksburg, Md.; four brothers, Malone Garland of Bakersville, Cecil and Earnest Garland of Johnson City, Tenn., and Nattie Garland of Glen Rock, Pa.; four grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Nellie Yelton and one brother, Roy Garland.

The funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home officiated by Clifford Willis, Ronnie Gouge and Cecil Garland.

Burial service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday in Garland Cemetery, Masters Drive, Bakersville.

Georgia married Frank Carl Masters about 1940 in Mitchell County, , , North Carolina. Frank was born on 17 Apr 1918 in Mitchell County, , , North Carolina; died on 29 May 2015 in Buncombe County, , , North Carolina; was buried in Andrew Garland Cemetery, , Mitchell County, North Carolina.
