Notes: Jeanette Lund, 63, of Elizabethton, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Select Specialty Hospital, Bristol, TN. She was the daughter of the late Ellick and Bonnie Townsend Birchfield and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Birchfield and Worley Birchfield. Mrs. Lund was a member of Southside Free Will Baptist. She was a past matron of the Eastern Star, Sycamore Chapter #163 and was retired from Snap-On Tools. She is survived by her husband, David Lund, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Jennifer Lund, Hampton; a very special granddaughter, Lauren Lund, Hampton; four brothers, L.J. Birchfield, Hampton; Jim Birchfield; Charles Birchfield; Steve Birchfield; all of Elizabethton; seven sisters, Ruby Guinn; Elizabethton; Shirley Smith; Johnson City; Josephine Cagle, Bluff City; Joyce Richmond; Judy Davenport; Mary Burleson, all of Elizabethton; and Kathy Humphrey, Bristol, TN; Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Lund will be conducted on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, Elizabethton with Rev. Steve Burleson and Mr. David Siebenaler, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Sunday prior to the service or at the home at other times. The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Curtis Miller, Mark Davenport, Wesley Whaley, Jack Smith, Hunter Nave, Ryan Birchfield and Spencer Nave. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 AM Monday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to express a special thank you to the Doctors and nurses and the other staff members at the Select Specialty Hospital for all the love and care shown to Mrs. Lund and the family during her stay. |
