JOHNSON CITY - Steven R. McLaughlin, age 63, of Johnson City, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 9, 2019. Steve was born in Johnson City to the late Roy and Genevie Jamison McLaughlin.

Steven was retired from Nuclear Fuel Services after 27 years of employment. He was a member of Grace Freewill Baptist Church, Johnson City. Steve was an avid fisherman and was known as "The great American Fisherman".

Those left to cherish his memory include, his son, Travis McLaughlin, and his wife Whitney, of Johnson City; a daughter, Lindsay Lester, and her husband Kevin, of Morristown; two grandsons, Kannon Lester and Karson Lester, of Morristown; a brother, Randy McLaughlin, and his wife Barbara, of Kingsport; former wife, Judy McLaughlin, of Johnson City.

A Gathering of Remembrance service will be held at 6:00 PM, on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Grace Freewill Baptist Church in Johnson City, with Mr. Curtis Hurt, Pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM prior to the service on Monday at the Church.
