    Notes:

    Beatrice Buck Roberts, 88, died Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton. Ms. Roberts was of a native of Banner Elk, N.C., but had lived in her later years in Newland, N.C. She was the daughter of the late Chester Arthur and Mary Ann Oaks Buck and was preceded in death by her brother, James "Jim" C. Buck, and sister-in-law, Jacquelyn Troutman Buck of Harrisburg, N.C.
    Ms. Roberts was retired from the Avery CAP Program of Appalachian Healthcare Systems and had worked several years at Grandfather Golf and Country Club of Linville, N.C.
    Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Kelly Roberts, Hampton, Tenn.; a beloved grandson, Jonah Roberts, Roan Mountain, Tenn.; a step-grandson, Cale Ensor, Telford, Tenn.; cherished nephew and wife, James David and Lydia Buck, Harrisburg, N.C.; adored great-nephew and wife, James Jeremiah and Jill Buck, Charlotte, N.C.; great-nephew and wife, David Isaac and Gretchen Buck, Raleigh, N.C.; a great-niece, Rebekah Elizabeth Buck, Charlotte, N.C.; a grand dog, "Gus"; two first cousins, Ms. Roberts thought of as sisters, Kat Shell Church, Roan Mountain, Tenn., and Pat Shell Testerman, Harrisburg, N.C. Kat was tireless in her devotion to Bea and her love for her will not be forgotten.
    A special heartfelt thank you to the staff of Life Care Center of Elizabethton, who treated Ms. Roberts as family throughout her residence there. A special thank you for the kindness showed by the First Church of the Nazarene of Elizabethton for the visits with Ms. Roberts.
    Ms. Roberts requested no services for her and often stated she preferred visits when she was alive and not after her passing. Ms. Roberts will be cremated and has left specific instructions for dispersal of the ashes with her son.
