Mrs. Roxie Brummett Jones, 74, 22009 Bernard, Taylor, died Friday, July 19, 2002, at Harper Hospital.

Mrs. Jones was a Unicoi County, Tenn., native and a daughter of the late Hasco Brummett and Mary Tolley Brummett.

She had been employed in the Activities Department of Regency Health Care Center, Taylor, for the past 24 years.
Mrs. Jones was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Dearborn Heights.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester Brummett and Kyle Ferrell; and one sister, Carolyn Williams.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Jones; two sons, Mike Jones, Johnson City, Tenn., and Stephen Jones, Howell; two daughters, Sue Massucci and Julie Jones, both of Taylor; four brothers, Joe Ferrell, Johnson City, and Don Brummett, Gerald Brummett and Alan Brummett, all of Bowling Green, Fla.; two sisters, Patricia Thornhill, Fort Pierce, Fla., and Gail Ferrell, Elizabethton, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Roxie Brummett Jones, age 74, 22009 Bernard, Taylor, Mich., who went to be with the Lord on Friday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday from the Morris-Baker South Chapel. The Rev. Eugene Penland will officiate. Burial will follow committal services at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Monte Vista Burial Park. Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Lester Eugene Brummett, 71, Plymouth, Mich., died Sunday, June 24, 2001, at Highlands Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Brummett was a Unicoi County, Tenn., native and a son of the late Hasco Brummett and Mary Brummett Ferrell.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
Mr. Brummett was a graduate of University State College, Detroit, and received his master's degree from East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, Tenn.
He retired in 1992 from General Motors as a general superintendent in Livonia, Mich.
Mr. Brummett was a former light-middleweight boxer.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Kyle Ferrell; and one sister, Carolyn Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Betty Brummett; five daughters, Jean Squillets, Jamestown, Tenn., Brenda Hocking, Livonia, Beverly Ramsay, Westland, Mich., Barbara Hall, Oakland, Tenn., and Bonnie Brummett, Plymouth; one son, Lester Brummett, Plymouth; four brothers, Don Brummett, Gerald Brummett and Alan Brummett, all of Bowling Green, and Joe Ferrell, Elizabethton, Tenn.; three sisters, Roxie Jones, Taylor, Mich., Gail Ferrell, Elizabethton, and Patricia Thornhill, Fort Pierce; his stepmother, Eula Bowling, Lake Placid; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Donald "Don" Lewis Brummett Sr., 86, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at his home in Bowling Green.

He was born on November 9, 1931 in Unicoi, Tennessee. Don moved to Hardee County on Christmas day in 1956. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Don was a member of the Masons and a proud U.S. Army Ranger who proudly served his country in the Korean War.

He is preceded in death by his parents Hasco and Mary Brummett, Step- mother Eula Brummett, brothers Lester Brummett and Kyle Farrell, sisters Roxie Jones and Carolyn Williams.

Don is survived by his wife Sylvia Brummett of Bowling Green, son Donald Lewis Brummett Jr. and his wife Cindy of Okeechobee, daughter Donna Mueller and her husband Joe of Gainesville, bothers; Gerald Brummett, Alan Brummett, Joe Farrell, sisters; Gail Farrell and Patricia Thornhill. And 5 grand-children; Joseph Michael Mueller, Alyson Marie Mueller, Marcella Lynn Mueller, Garrett Lewis Brummett, and Katie Cheyanne Brummett.

Mrs. Carolyn P. Ferrell Williams, 55, of Neeses, died Saturday, May 21, 1994, at her residence. The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday at Mount Beulah P.H. Church, with the Rev. Ronald Street, the Rev. William Welch, the Rev. Reggie Thames and the Rev. Emery Martin officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Williams was born in Johnson City, Tenn., a daughter of the late George Washington Ferrell and Mary Ann Tolly Ferrell. She was a member of Mount Beulah P.H. Church. Survivors include her husband, Vernon Williams of the home; a son, Kyle Williams of Neeses; two sisters, Mrs. Roxie Jones of Taylor, Mich., and Ms. Gail Ferrell of Elizabethton, Tenn.; four brothers, Lester E. Brummett of Plymouth, Mich., Don L. Brummett and Gerald D. Brummett, both of Bowling Green, Fla., and Joe Ferrell of Johnson City, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Betty Fox of Aiken; a foster sister, Mrs. Laura Barnett of Johnson City, Tenn.; two stepgrandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

TELFORD - Joe Ferrell, 77, Telford departed from his earthly life on Saturday, June 3, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born in Johnson City to the late George and Mary Tolley Ferrell. He was a graduate of Happy Valley High School where he played basketball. Joe was also a Little League Coach for 20 years. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he frequently drove the church bus and assisted in the nursery. Joe’s career began at Allied Metals at age 17 and worked there until his retirement. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Roxie Jones and Carolyn Williams and three brothers, Don Brummett, Lester Brummett and Kyle Ferrell.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Nancy Reaves Ferrell; a son, Larry Ferrell and his wife, Shannon; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason), Lydia, Gabe, Jake, Colton; great-grandson, Evan; a sister, Gail Ferrell; a brother, Gerald Brummett; also, several nieces and nephews.
