Hazel Mae Manuel Eller went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 24, 2021. She lived to be 104 years old and was lovingly taken care of by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Larry Danner. Hazel was born on April 25, 1917 in Ashe County, NC. She was married on December 4, 1931 to George Thomas Eller. The couple was married for 49 years before he passed away on June 8, 1981. In her lifetime she was a mail carrier, an employee at Burlington and most importantly she leaves behind a strong legacy of love and family.

She had three daughters: Juanita Eller Everett of Frostburg, MD, Betty Eller Whittaker( Husband Ron) of Wilmington, NC and Patricia Eller Danner(husband Larry) of Johnson City, TN; six grandchildren: Michael Brad Everett(deceased), Lisa Y. Everett(deceased), Victoria Everett Brown of Cumberland, MD, Bridgett Whittaker Jochum of Waldorf, MD, John Thomas Horne(deceased) and Ronnie Thomas Danner of Johnson City, TN. Her legacy continued with 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.

Hazel was a wonderful Christian lady and active member of Milligan Free Will Baptist Church, Pastor Mark Street. She loved her church family and everyone will remember her beautiful smile anytime she would fellowship and share food with her church family. She would pride herself in cooking and sharing her favorite dishes of biscuits and gravy and chicken and dumplings.

Hazel held a close relationship with her son-in-law, Larry Danner. She would light up whenever he came into the room. They enjoyed taking car rides together, farming and just sitting at home talking and singing for hours. She also loved spending time with her grandson, Ronnie Danner and his two daughters, Bailey and Emma.

The family would like to thank their close friends, Janice and Michelle McInturff, Louise Butler and Helen Odom for acting not only as friends but also as caregivers to Hazel along with Amedisys Hospice of Johnson City, TN.

The graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor Mark Street and Pastor Frank Woods officiating.

Ima Lee Cretsinger, age 87, of Shady Valley, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was born on March 18, 1930 in Shady Valley, TN to the late Ira Manuel and Effie Blevins Manuel. In addition to her parents, Ima Lee was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Ray Manuel.

Ima Lee loved the Church and doing for others. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and quilting. Ima Lee will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She was a member of Shady Valley Church of Christ.

Those left to cherish her memories include her husband Vergil Cretsinger, who on February 19, 2018 would have celebrated 70 years together; daughter, Sherry Shoun and husband Stan; sons: Houze Cretsinger and wife Lois Ann, Elwood Cretsinger and wife Debbie and Kevin Cretsinger and wife Judy; sisters: Veralene Gentry and Lois Fletcher; brothers: Bill Manuel, Don Manuel and wife Virginia, Dan Manuel, Jerry Manuel and wife Judy; grandchildren: Micah Cretsinger, Shane Cretsinger, Jessica Shoun, Gabe Shoun, Mandy Cretsinger Hodge, Kaleb Cretsinger, Channie Cretsinger and Cindy Jones; great-grandchildren; Eden Stout, Michala Cretsinger, Nadia Estep, Aidan Labay, Sam Cretsinger and Lucas Cretsinger, great-greatgrandchild, Tucker Stout; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Shady Valley Church of Christ. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Daniel Koen to officiate. Graveside service and interment will follow at the Blevins Cemetery. Pallbearers will be McGetty Greer, Charles Townsend, Keith Blevins, Olan Bentley, Dennis Honaker and Jack Blevins. Honorary pallbearers are Men of the Shady Valley Church of Christ.

Gilbert William 'Bill' Manuel, age 84, of Shady Valley, Tennessee, passed away on Monday morning, March 19, 2018 at the Mountain City Care Center. He was born on May 16, 1933 to the late Ira and Effie Blevins Manuel. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ann Pruitt Manuel; sister, Ima Lee Cretsinger and brother, Louis Ray Manuel.

Bill was a proud farmer and took great pride in his work. He loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing, hunting and yard selling. He loved going to church at Shady Valley Church of Christ, where he was also a member. Bill loved his family, especially his grandchildren who he loved to spoil.

Those left to cherish his memories include his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Tony Snyder; sisters: Veralene Gentry and Lois Fletcher; brothers: Don Manuel and wife Virginia, Dan Manuel and Jerry Manuel and wife Judy; grandchildren: Jerome Snyder and Jason Snyder; great grandchildren: Josh, Ethan, Kaylee, London Snyder, Sydney Snyder, Havyn , Bella Macey and Trace Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the Shady Valley Church of Christ. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 with Pastor Daniel Koen and Wesley Simon officiating. Special music will be provided by Ethan Tate, Kevin Cretsinger and Elwood Cretsinger. Honorary pallbearers are Jason Snyder, Josh Snyder, Ethan Snyder, Nick Fletcher, Dennis Honaker, Jim Sherman and the Men of the Shady Valley Church of Christ.
