FUNERAL SERVICES FOR CECIL WALSH HELD LAST SUNDAY
Cecil Walsh was born Oct. 7, 1905 and died April 24, 1943, being 37 years 6 months and 17 days old.
On. Oct. 15, 1926 he was married to Adie Moretz who survives together with the following children: Juanita Walsh, age 15, Geter Walsh, age 12, Peggy Walsh, age 9, Cornell Walsh, age 6. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Millie Meaton, and the following sisters and brothers, Mrs. Ora Cunningham, Mountain City, Carl Walsh, Shouns, Dana Walsh, Mountain City, Will Walsh, Shady Valley, and Mack Walsh, Avondale, Pa.
He joined the Mount Carmel Christian Church on Doe.

Ruby Louise Eller, age 89, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on January 7, 1929 to the late Carl and Ollie Furches Walsh. In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband Devon Eller, daughter, Sandra Kay Eller Proffitt, son-in-law, Willis Walker, sisters, Virgie Stout and Lonita Owens, brothers, Frank Walsh and Richard Walsh and grandsons, Richard Proffitt and David Mullis.

Louise was a gifted seamstress and worked for many years at various companies. She enjoyed working word search puzzle books and jig saw puzzles. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. Louise was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and charter member of Calvary's Ladies Circle. She loved her church and church family and was always involved in various church activities.

Those left to cherish her memories include her children, Betty Jo Icenhour and husband Delmer, Jean Walker, Tommy Eller and wife Nancy and Danny Eller and wife Carolyn, sisters, Janet Martin and husband Bob and Georgia Shomate Pardue, brothers, James Walsh and wife Laverne and Orville Walsh and wife Susie, grandchildren, Andrea Johnson (Billy), Eric Walker (Christy), Kevin Icenhour (Amanda), Michael Icenhour (Jennifer), J. Paul Eller (Trish), Richard Eller (Amanda), Chelsea Matheson, Jadie Matheson (Kimberly), Chequita Meade, Kevin Mullis, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, special caregiver, great granddaughter, McKayla Walker and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Calvary Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 8:00 p.m. with her grandson, Pastor Michael Icenhour and Pastor Steven Spencer and Pastor Chuck Morefield officiating. Special music will be provided by the Calvary Baptist Church Choir and great granddaughter, Taylor Walker. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2018 at the Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons.

Georgia Marie Shomate, age 88, of Mountain City, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Mountain City Care Center. She was born October 19, 1933 to the late Carl Walsh and Ollie Furches Walsh. Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Spencer Shomate; son, Jesse Robert Shomate; sister, Virgie Stout, Louise Eller, Lonetta Owens; brothers, Richard Walsh and Frank Walsh.

Georgia liked to read her bible and loved going to church. She took care of others and loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking and sitting on the porch.

She was a member of Berea Baptist Church and later attended Calvary Baptist Church.

Georgia is survived by daughters, Dixie Widener and Diana Wagner; sons, David Shomate, Rick Shomate(Sheila) and Bill Shomate(Joyce); sisters, Janet Martin(Bob) of Ashland ,OH; brothers, Orville Walsh(Suzy) of Grundy, VA and James Walsh of Mountain City, TN; several grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great- great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The graveside service and burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 5,2022 at the Rainbow Cemetery with Pastor Steven Spencer and Pastor Sam Icenhour to officiate. Pallbearers will be Ari Halberg, Chad Shomate, Mark Miller, Tommy Eller, Danny Eller, and JC Walsh

Juanita Marie Trivett, age 88, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at her home. She was born on December 25, 1927 to the late Cecil Walsh and Addie Mae Moretz Walsh. In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her two brothers: Geter B. Walsh and Carnell W. Walsh.

Juanita was a quiet woman but was a faithful servant to her Lord and Savior. She loved her family and always concerned about others more than herself.

She loved cooking and working in her flowers.

Juanita is survived by her husband of 70 years, Ted Trivett; daughter, Phyllis Lipford and husband Glenn; sons: Ted 'Junior' Trivett and wife Mary and Gary Trivett and wife Tracy; sister, Peggy Jennings and husband Ben; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; special friend, Lois Combs and many cousins, nieces, nephews.

Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Rainbow Cemetery with Juanita's grandson, Glenn Lipford III and Pastor Kenneth Phipps officiating. Pallbearers will be Glenn Lipford, Tyler Trivett, Jamey Icenhour and David Martin.

We are saddened to announce the passing of Peggy Walsh Jennings, age 89, on Friday, April 21, 2023. She was born January 14, 1934 to the late Cecil Walsh and Addie Mae Moretz Walsh.

Peggy was a member of the Faith Assembly Church of Indiana. She enjoyed tending to her flowers, feeding birds and cooking.

In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Benard Jennings and Grandchildren, Brittany and Ronnie; two brothers, Geter Walsh and Carnell Walsh and Juanita Trivett.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Lannie Jennings of TN and Angie Hall (James) of TN; two sons, Joe Fletcher (Melissa) of TN and Shawn Jennings of the home; six grandchildren, Mary Woolman, Christi Hicks, Billie Giles, Shana Stout, James Hall and Johnny Hall; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Margaret Roberts, Marie, Rosie and Jerry and Gail of Amedisys Hospice.

Pallbearers will be Junior Trivett, Matthew Brown, Danny Eastridge and Jamie Jennings

Honorary Pallbearers are James Hall, Johnny Hall, Luke Laws and Dean Ham.

Funeral service for Peggy will be Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 12 noon in the Charles B Hux Chapel at Hux & LIpford funeral Home with Ted Lewis and Leonard Fletcher officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 am - 12 prior to the funeral . Burial will follow at the Jennings Cemetery.

David Shomate age 66, of Mountain City, TN passed away on Friday evening, December 16, 2022 at his home. He was born February 20, 1956 in Ashland, Ohio to the late Spencer Shomate and Georgia Walsh Shomate. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Shomate and nephew, Daniel Shomate.

David was always on the go. He enjoyed talking to his friends and his uncle who was like his brother. David loved his grandkids very much. He was passionate about TN sports and NASCAR and enjoyed playing golf with his son.

Those left to cherish his memories included his daughter, Misty Lundell (Brandon); son, Chad Shomate (Jordan); sisters, Dixie Widener and Diane McGlamery (Lawrence); brothers, Rick Shomate (Sheila) and Bill Shomate (Joyce); grandchildren, Chloe Shomate, Haley Buzard, and Tyler Lundell; great grandchild, Kingsten Buzard; special nieces, Emily Shupe, Madison Wagner, Tanieka Halberg, Chastity Miller, Kelly Martin, and Sherri Cook; uncle, Arville Walsh; several nieces and nephews.
