Holsclaw (Cordell), age 84, of Hammond, passed away peacefully in her home on July 16, 2017 surrounded by her family after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Dolores was preceded in death by her son Dennis Cordell; parents, Walt and Leone McCoury; husbands: Lloyd Holsclaw and Edward Cordell. Burial at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond. Dolores was born on April 27, 1933 in TN. She was Valedictorian of her high school and had many fond memories of her life in TN that she liked to share. She moved to Hammond in 1950 where she worked for the Post Office for 39 years before retiring. She loved her job and talked about it often. After retirement Dolores took a job at Wal-Mart as a greeter to stay active and put a smile on peoples faces. Dolores was also an active member in T.O.P.S. for almost 40 years, where she met her best friends. Dolores was a loving mother a devoted grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed being with her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Deloris married Lloyd R. Holsclaw about 1974. Lloyd was born on 20 Nov 1917 in Lake County, , , Indiana; died on 18 Dec 1991 in Lake County, , , Indiana. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |

19. | Sarah Lucille Ward ![]() Notes: Sarah Lucille Birchfield, 87 of Limestone entered into God’s glorious Kingdom Tuesday, May 9, 2023. She was born on March 9, 1936 in Washington County. Lucille was a devout Pentecostal by faith. She enjoyed singing, attending church services, revivals and spending time with her friends and family. Lucille also loved the family dog, “Buddy” who was a great companion and comfort to her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Margaret Earp Ward; a sister, Mary Radford; her late husband, Robert Miller; her children, Darryl Byrd, Kevin Byrd, Joel Byrd and Kathy Byrd. |
