    Ruth Rhymer, age 88, of 415 McElyea Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away at the Mountain City Care Center on Wednesday, April 6, 2005. A native of Johnson County, Tennessee, she was born on November 16, 1916 to the late Andy and Cora Dyson. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Willis Rhymer, who passed away in 1975; one daughter, Violet Rhymer Eller, who passed away in 2002; four sisters, Pauline Guy, Ruby Woods, Kitty Phillips and Shirley Blevins and two infant brothers. She loved quilting and embroidering. Ruth was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church.
    Ruth is survived by two sons, Burl Rhymer and wife Helen of Jessup, Maryland and Earl Rhymer of Mountain City; six grandchildren; Patsy Cullop, Tommy Rhymer, Bridgett Henson all of Mountain City, Michael Rhymer of Texas, Burley Rhymer and William Rhymer, both of Maryland; twelve great grandchildren; two brothers, Charlie Dyson and Andy Dyson, both of Mountain City and two sisters, Mary Woods and Katherine Dyson, both of Moutain City. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2005 from the First Baptist Church with Rev. Harry Wills and Mr. Jim Hutchinson to officiate. Graveside Services and Interment will follow from the Donnelly Cenetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Ronda Reece, Bill Moore, Bud McComas, Clifford Woods, Charles Dyson and Harold Woods.
    The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 p.m. Thursday April 7, 2005 at the Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home, where the body will remain until taken to the First Baptist Church to lie in state one hour prior to Services Friday.

    Charlie A. Dyson, age 85, of 1331 Huggins Road, Mountain City, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 20, 2005 at the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Johnson County, TN, he was born December 2 1919 to the late Andy and Cora Forrester Dyson. Charlie was a World War II Veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He was a farmer and loved to hunt and fish.
    Survivors include his wife, Lucy Phillips Dyson of the home; two daughters; Carol Gilley and Jody Farmer and husband Gale, all of Mountain City, TN,; two sons; Charles Dyson and wife Linda, Mountain City, TN; Daryl Dyson and wife Margie, Holden Beach, NC; two sisters; Mary Woods and Katherine Dyson, both of Mountain City, TN; one brother, Andy Dyson Jr., Mountain City, TN; Nine Grandchldren and Fourteen Great Grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    Funeral Services for Charlie A. Dyson will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2005, from the Hux-Tetrick funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Bentley and Rev. Bruce Simcox to officiate. Military Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2005 from the Donnelly Cemetery and will be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Jamie Gilley, Junior Gilley, Charlie Dyson, Timmy Potter, Kenny Greer, and Ike Hewett.
    A visitation will be held from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 23, prior to the funeral service at Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home. At other times, friends may call at the residence, 1331 Huggins Road, Mountain City, TN. 37683.

    Charlie married Lucy L. Phillips about 1945. Lucy (daughter of Emmett Lee Phillips and Sally South) was born on 13 Apr 1929 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee; died on 12 Feb 2022 in Washington County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Donnelly Cemetery, , Johnson County, Tennessee. She was born on February 15, 1925 to the late Andy Dyson Sr. and Cora Lee Forrester Dyson. In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by sisters, Kitty Phillips, Ruth Rhymer, Shirley Blevins, Mary Woods, Ruby Woods and Pauline Guy and brothers, Norman Dyson, Karl Dyson, Charles Dyson and Andy Dyson Jr.

    She was a member of First Baptist Church. Katherine was a simple woman and lived a simple life. She was a gifted quilter and had made many beautiful quilts through the years. She loved to help and bring joy to others.

    Those left to cherish her memories include a nephew and special caregiver, Bobby Dyson; sister-in-law, Lucy Dyson; brother-in-law, Billy Joe Blevins; special neighbors include, Ruth Tilley, Patience Baird and Zeb Baird; many more nieces and nephews.

    Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the Donnelly Cemetery (N. Church Street, Mountain City, TN) with Pastor Ricky Campbell officiating. Special music will be provided by Marissa, Hospice Chaplain. Pallbearers will be Bud McComas, Dickie Lindsey, Mike Phillippi, Tommy Rhymer, Weston Throop, Eric Cullop.

    Robert Andy Dyson Jr., age 86, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. He was born on May 12, 1927 to the late Andy Dyson Sr., and Cora Lee Forrester Dyson. In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his siblings, Charlie Dyson, Ruth Rhymer, Pauline Guy, Ruby Woods, Mary Woods, Shirley Blevins, Kitty Phillips and a nephew, who was like a son, Clifford Woods.
    Andy was a member of First Baptist Church, where he had also served as Deacon and was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
    Andy operated a sawmill for over 40 years and was also a farmer. He loved farming, raising tobacco, hay and beef cattle. He truly lived his life by the golden rule.
    Andy was deeply loved by all who knew him and was simply and affectionately known by many as "Papaw D."
    Andy is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Helen Waters Dyson; son, Bobby Dyson and friend Dixie Widener; niece, who was like a daughter, Pat Woods; sister, Katherine Dyson; grandchildren; Ann Baker and husband Chris, Heather Dyson, Jimmy Woods, Bobby Jo Watson and husband David; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sister in law, Lucy Dyson; brothers in law, Bill Blevins and Vernon Waters; special friends; George, Janice and Angela Ashley; several nieces and nephews and many more special friends and neighbors.
    Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastors Ricky Campbell, Norman Reece and Harry Wills to officiate. Special Music will be provided by Ricky and Millie Campbell.
    The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the service.
    Graveside Service and Interment will follow from the Donnelly Cemetery.

    Robert 'Bob' Dyson age 60, of Mountain City Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the Johnson County Community Hospital. He was born on June 23, 1958 to the late Andy Dyson Jr. and Helen Waters Dyson. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a special cousin, Clifford Woods.

    Bob retired from General Electric of Greenville, SC. He grew up on a farm and had continued farming and helping others farm. He also enjoyed riding his four-wheeler and side-by-side.

    He was a member of Bailey Lodge 146 F&AM of Greer, SC and First Baptist Church of Mountain City, TN.

    Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He lived each day by the golden rule 'Do unto others as you would have others do unto you'. If there was anyone in need, Bob was always one of the first to help. He was always, always doing for others, not because anyone asked and not because he had to, but because it was the right thing to do.

    Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Sharon Dyson; daughters, Elizabeth Ann Dyson Baker and husband Chris and Heather Dyson Winterstein and husband Mack; stepsons, Weston Throop, Caleb Throop and Daniel Byers; grandchildren, Bailee, Hannah and Logan Small and Saje and Riley Winterstein; special friends, Cloyce Eller, Mike Phillippi, Linda Farmer, Jamie Lewis and many more special friends, and several cousins.

    The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Ricky Campbell officiating with special prayer by Noah Click. Special music will be provided by Joe Simcox and Ricky Campbell. Graveside service and interment will follow at the Donnelly Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Cullop, Tommy Rhymer, Charles Dyson, Johnathan Thomason, Andy Woods, Wesley Waters, Danny Waters, and Weston Throop. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Cullop, Danny Cullop, Hugh Slemp, Pat Conville, George Ashley, Hugh Bruce, Roger Smith, Randy Rader, Willie DeBord, Fellowship Class of First Baptist Church, Bud McComas, and Mike Reece.
