    JOHNSON CITY - Maud Proffitt, age 89, of Johnson City, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at NHC Healthcare.

    Maud was born in Butler, Tennessee to the late Hobert and Fannie Wilson Osborne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Loveless; three brothers, J.C. Osborne, Kenneth Osborne and Bill Osborne; and two sisters, Dean Barnett and Delores Cooper.

    Maud was a homemaker and was a member of Oakland Avenue Baptist Church since 1973 and had served as a Sunday School teacher for 30 years. She loved to cook and enjoyed gardening.

    Those left to cherish her memory include her loving and devoted husband of 72 years, Ralph Proffitt, of the home; a son-in-law, Kenneth Loveless, of Johnson City; two grandchildren, Kenny Loveless (Suesi), of Johnson City and Michelle Warden (David), of Lynchburg, VA; two great granddaughters, Sarah Warden, of Richmond, VA and Amanda Warden, of Lynchburg, VA; two sisters, Shirley Street, of Cincinnati, OH and Linda Campbell, of Johnson City; one brother, Rick Osborne, of Johnson City; and several nieces and nephews.

    A committal and entombment service to honor the life of Maud Proffitt will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 27, 2020 in the Mausoleum at Washington County Memory Gardens with Reverend Roy Yelton, officiating.

    JOHNSON CITY - Mrs. Dean Barnett, age 84, of Johnson City, TN passed away Friday, June 23, 2017 in the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.

    A native of Butler, she was the daughter of the late Hobart Henry Osborne and Fannie Mae Wilson Osborne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Deloris Cooper and two brothers, Kenneth Osborne and Bill Osborne. Mrs. Barnett was a homemaker and a member of Sinking Creek Baptist Church. She loved her family and was like a mother to all of her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

    Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of sixty-five years, Arvil Junior Barnett of the home; three sisters, Linda Campbell of Johnson City, Maude Proffitt of Johnson City, Shirley Street of Cincinnati, OH; two brothers, Rick Osborne of Johnson City and JC Osborne of Elizabethton. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.

    A service to honor the life of Mrs. Dean Barnett will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Monday, June 26, 2017 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Roy Yelton officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 26th from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM prior to the funeral service in the chapel or at the residence at other times.

    The graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be her nephews: Todd Cooper, Dewayne Osborne, Clayton Osborne, Ronnie Osborne, Rex Osborne and Kenny Lovelace. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-nieces and great-nephews.

    ELIZABETHTON - J.C. Osborne, age 78, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 at his residence.

    He was the son of the late Hobart Osborne and Fannie Wilson Osborne. J.C. retired as a mechanic from General Motors. He is a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church. J.C. loved to spend time with his family and his dog, Angus. He enjoyed watching the car races on television and playing Bingo.

    In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Sue Osborne; a daughter, Jackie Cable; two brothers, Kenneth Osborne and Bill Osborne and two sisters, Dean Barnett and Delores Cooper. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of thirty-nine years, Marie Asher Osborne, of the home; a son, Ronnie Osborne, Elizabethton; two daughters, JoAnn Cook, Elizabethton and Darlene Hammond, Cincinnati, OH; two step-children, Greg Morris, of the home and Gina Rutherford, Elizabethton; fourteen grandchildren, Tony, Ashley, Michelle, Jessica, Caleb, Crystal, Dallas, Angela, Jeremy, Michael, Amanda, Nicholas and Christopher; three step-grandchildren, Timmy, Nikki and Casey; twenty-three great-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Ricky Osborne, Johnson City and three sisters, Linda Campbell, Johnson City; Shirley Jo Street, Cincinnati, OH and Maude Proffitt, Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews and special friends, Bill and Pauline Flowers, Paul and Margaret Frye, Wilton Fields, Glen Fields and friends at the Johnson City Housing Authority also survive.

    A service to honor the life of J.C. Osborne will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April 27, 2019 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Roy Yelton and Rev. Eldon Cook officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Garland Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Christopher, Nicholas, Caleb, Dallas, Jeremy and Bryson. Honorary pallbearers will be Timmy Rutherford, Jerry Hammond, Ricky, Tony, Kenneth Loveless, Steve Stenstream and Dave Holtsclaw.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cheyanne Osborne; three brothers and four sisters.
    Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of five years, Melba Smith Osborne of the home; two children, Kristie Osborne Haynes (Bryan) of Newton, NC; and Ricky Dewayne Osborne of Johnson City; a step-daughter, Tammy Dilger of Bristol, VA; four grandchildren, Destiny Osborne Ludeman, Brenden Haynes, Dylan Burks and Darion Osborne; one great-grandson, August Ludeman; a sister, Linda Campbell of Johnson City; and several nieces and nephews.
