    Ralph Stout passed away on August 18, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Ralph was a loving husband to Margie for 75 years and a wonderful father to Sonny, Mary Beth, Linda, Carole and Jeff. In addition to his wife and children, 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews also survive him.

    Ralph was born to the late Allen M. Stout and Lizzie Martin Stout on April 14, 1921 in Mountain City, Tennessee. He was also preceded in death by his brother Joe Stout and sister, Lena Ray. He graduated from Johnson County High School in 1939 and attended Lincoln Memorial University on a basketball scholarship from 1939 to 1942 before serving in the Navy during World War II. He later graduated with highest honors from Elgin Watch Makers College.

    Ralph began officiating sports in 1946 and during his 65 years with the TSSAA, he served as an official, a supervisor, and commissioner. He officiated in the following conferences: Southern, OVC, SEC, ACC, VSAC, and NBA. Ralph became a legendary basketball and football official and was referred to as the "nation's most respected man in stripes". His honors include: induction into Naismath, TSSAA, Northeast, Lincoln Memorial and Tennessee Halls of Fame, voted Jaycee's Tennessee Man of the Year 1950, five time winner of the Southern Conference Silver Whistle Award and the local town park bears his name.

    He served the Town of Mountain City as Mayor for 17 years and was a business owner of a family jewelry store. He was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Mountain City and Past Master of the Taylorsville Masonic Lodge.

    Ralph was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and official. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

    The family will receive friends Wednesday August 23, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mountain City Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Thursday August 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Wilks, Pastor Warren Stewart and Pastor Ron McEwen to officiate. Masonic Rites by Taylorsville Masonic Lodge #243 F&AM will follow the funeral service. Entombment will follow from the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum with Military Honors accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Pallbearers are Martin Slatery, Brian Shore, Joseph Stout, Matthew Stout, Robert Nelson, Erik Nelson, Alexander Stout and Thomas Bower. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Hutchinson, Jim Cradic, Dave Burkner, Joel Pierce, Lynn Griffith, Charlie McConnell, Charlie McCarthy, Joe Atwood, Ron McEwen, Billy Bob Garrison, Shelby Miller, Tom Reece and Ralph's TSSAA family.

    Ralph married Marjorie Marie Baker on 11 Oct 1941 in Union County, , , Tennessee. Marjorie (daughter of Everette Clyde Baker and Cleda H. Surgener) was born on 31 Oct 1921 in , Pike County, Kentucky, ; died on 23 Jun 2023 in , Johnson County, Tennessee, ; was buried in Sunset Memorial Park, Johnson County, Tennessee, .     Jeffrey Baker Stout, of Baraboo, WI, passed away at his home on Friday, March 9, 2018 due to stage 4 colon cancer. He was born December 10, 1961 to Ralph and Margie Stout of Mountain City, TN. He attended Johnson County High School in Mountain City, TN and graduated from East Tennessee State University with a BS in Engineering Technology. He also graduated from Cardinal Strich University with a master in Business Administration. Jeff's work history included; W.R. Grace & Co, Roanoke Rapids in North Carolina, Crosby Manufacturing in Crosby, MN and Lear Corporation in Fremont, Ohio. Flambeau Plastics Inc., as a Product Development Engineering, Automotive Program Business Manager, General Manager, Plasticos Flambeau, Saltillo Coahuila Mexico, Vice President of Engineering in Baraboo, WI, and most recently Vice President of North American Operations in Baraboo, WI since 2010.

    Jeff was a member of Emanuel Methodist Church and past master and member of the Baraboo Masonic Lodge. Jeff truly loved watching his boys compete in sports and music programs. He loved to cook and bake and was always pursing the perfect Southern Barbeque, recreating his mother's pie recipes, water color painting, and reading, and known for being meticulous and detail oriented, which could be good or bad based on which side you were on. Jeff loved and respected his work associates in all the various Flambeau Manufacturing plants and offices.

    He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Laurie (Berendes) Stout; and his loving sons, Alexander Baker Stout and Joseph Allen Stout. Jeff is further survived by his mother, Margie Stout of Mountain City, TN; 1 brother, Howard (Wanda) Stout of Mountain City, TN; 3 sisters, Mary Beth (Pat) Slatery of West Palm Beach, FL, Linda (Bob) Nelson, Tampa, FL, Carole (Bill) Shore of Mountain City, TN: 2 sister-in-laws, Carol Berendes of Baraboo, Mary (Fred) Sole of Spring Green, WI; 1 brother-in-law Steve (Terri) Berendes of Prescott, AZ, and many loving nieces , nephews, cousin and friends.

    Jeff was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law Irven and Margaret Berendes of Baraboo, WI, and this year Jeff lost his father, Ralph Stout.

    Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel United Methodist Church( Wisconsin) with Pastor Blake Overlien officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Redlin Funeral Home( Baraboo, WI) from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
