Byrl was born on December 16, 1923 and passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015.

Byrl was a resident of Roan Mountain, Tennessee at the time of his passing.

He was honorably discharged from the US Army.

He was married to June.

Visitation for Byrl Whitehead will be conducted at 12 pm Saturday November 14th and the funeral will follow at 2 pm at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Elizabethton TN. Mr. Raymond Hill will be officiating with Yvonne Whitehead giving a eulogy. The graveside service and interment will be immediately following the funeral with Pastor Derrick Hughes of Little Mountain Baptist Church at Happy Valley Memorial Park.

Byrl married June M. Odom about 1950. June (daughter of Thomas B. Odom and Laura Ellen Barnett) was born about 1930; died on 19 Jan 2020 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Happy Valley Memorial Park, , Carter County, Tennessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

ROAN MOUNTAIN - Yvonne Kay Whitehead, 63, of Roan Mountain, TN went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 22, 2017 after a battle with cancer.

Yvonne was born on August 16, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan. She is the daughter of June Whitehead and the late Byrl Whitehead. She was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in Taylor, Michigan where she resided for several years before joining the Army in 1978 where she received Medical Lab Assistance Training. She retired from Michigan Correctional Facility.

She was preceded in death by her father, Byrl Whitehead, one sister V. Sherrye Reine and one niece, Beth Reine.


She is survived by her mother June Whitehead, Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Vanessa Reine, nephews, Britt Reine and Thomas Holloway and several aunts, uncle and cousins, and special friends Terry Catt and Vicky Curtise.

She was a member of Little Mountain Baptist Church where she enjoyed her church duties.
