    Notes:

    Faye Buck Forbes, 90, of Olde Well Road, Hudson, N.C., passed away Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at Caldwell Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness.

    Born March 29, 1914, in Carter County, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late John and Savana Clark Buck. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 2001 by her husband of 55 years John R. Forbes. She had been previously married to Bruce Perry, who died while serving in the Navy in World War II.

    Mrs. Forbes was a retired seamstress and homemaker who won many awards for crochet and quilting. She was a graduate of Cloudland High School, where she was captain of the girls' basketball team. She was of the Baptist faith.

    Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law; a daughter; two grandsons; one great-grandson; and a sister. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

    The graveside service for Mrs. Forbes was conducted at 11:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 13 at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
