    ELIZABETHTON - Jack Clemons, 91, Elizabethton, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late John & Rose Richardson Clemons. He was retired from General Shale as a Jack Operator. He had served in the Tennessee National Guard. He loved to fish, hunt and work in his garden. Jack was a member of East Side Free Will Baptist Church where he drove a church bus for several years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Alma June Lyons Clemons, a son: Jeffrey Clemons, two sisters: Venie Carr and Lena Hayes and two brothers: R.J. and Thomas Clemons. His daughter-in-law: Barbara Clemons and his son-in-law: Clarence Frye.
    Survivors include his children: Blenda Hester, Barbara (Clarence) Taylor, Gary Lynn Clemons, Richard Clemons, Robin (Richard) Guy, Billy Jack (Lisa) Clemons, Timothy Allen (Tina Davis) Clemons, Jerry Clemons, Vickie Frye and Michael John (Rebecca) Clemons. 32 Grandchildren, 49 Great Grandchildren and Five Great Great Grandchildren. One Sister: Helen Gass. Several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2022 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jeremy Burleson, Rev. Steve Burleson and his grandson, Ethan Clemons. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

    Ray L. Clemons Sr., 89, of Watauga, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Greystone Health Care Center. He was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Joseph and Catherine Crowe Clemons.
    Mr. Clemons retired from Atmos Energy after many years of service.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Joan Clemons, and several brothers and sisters.
    Survivors include three sons, Ray Clemons Jr., David Allen Clemons and Billy Ray Clemons; a step-son, Bobby Eugene Ward; a grandson, Ryan Clemons; two granddaughters, Dulaney and Riley Ward; and several nieces and nephews.
    Graveside services for Mr. Clemons will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 18, at Happy Valley Memorial Park, Elizabethton, with Chaplain Dwight McPherson officiating.

    Graveside services and interment were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2002 at Happy Valley Memorial Park.

    ELIZABETHTON - Linda Gail Carrier, age 76, of Elizabethton, TN passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at Erwin Health Care Center. A native of Carter County, she was born to the late Isaac Clemons and Goldie Carrier Clemons. Gail retired after 25 years working as an administrative assistant at East Tennessee State University. She was a member of Unaka Baptist Church. Serving the Lord and attending church was a major part of her life. She was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the choir. Gail loved spending time with her grandchildren, working crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Carrier and infant brother, Floyd Clemons. Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Jennifer Hopland, of Lenoir, NC and Candace McNabb (Ben), of Unicoi, TN; son, Kirk Carrier and fiancé, Joy Henry, of Elizabethton; eight grandchildren, Jillian Darville, Jessica Barnett, Jared Hopland, Madelyn Bartlett, Lydia McNabb, Ryan Mick, Kayla Carrier and Luke Carrier; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne Clemons and W.A. Clemons, both of Elizabethton and several nieces and nephews also survive.

    A funeral service to honor the life of Gail will be conducted at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Reverend Jonathan Darville officiating. The family will receive friends between the hours of 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM prior to the service on Wednesday.

    The graveside service and interment will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 18, 2023 in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Harold McNabb officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Clemons, W.A. Clemons, Luke Carrier, Kirk Carrier, Jared Hopland, James Wheeler, Chase Bartlett, Jonathan Darville, Ethan Barnett and Joseph Laughrun.

    ELIZABETHTON- Richard Edward Clemons, 63, Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Jack & June Lyons Clemons. He was employed by Color Works, Inc. He loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his brother; Jeffrey Clemons, his sister-in-law: Barbara Clemons and his brother-in-law: Clarence Frye.
    Survivors include his fiancé: Kristyn Kemp, his brothers and sisters: Blenda Hester, Barbara (Clarence) Taylor, Gary Lynn Clemons, Robin (Richard) Guy, Billy (Lisa) Clemons, Timothy (Tina) Clemons, Jerry Clemons, Vicky Frye and Michael (Rebecca) Clemons. Several nieces & nephews.
    A Memorial Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jeremy Burleson officiating. Music will be provided by Tina Clemons, Soloist.

    ELIZABETHTON - Wilma J. Clemons Honeycutt, age 87, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at her residence. Wilma was born in Carter County, a daughter of the late Elbert and Okie Bowers Clemons. In addition to her parents, Wilma was also preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Honeycutt; and a grandson, Jesse Williams.
    Wilma retired as a registered nurse and was true lady full of grace and beauty. Wilma was member of Hunter Memorial years ago but was a current long time member of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church. She loved to sing in the choir and sing at nursing homes- as a member of J.C. and friends. Wilma enjoyed crocheting, reading, word searches and loved laughing and enjoying her family.
    Those left to cherish Wilma’s many wonderful memories include her sons, Stephen (Mary) Honeycutt and Andrew (Melanie) Honeycutt; her daughter, Rachel Williams; her grandchildren, Nicole (Kurt) Walker, Amanda (Kelly) Cain, Joshua (Allison) Honeycutt, Alyssa (Billy) Douthitt, Tasha (David) Wright, Drew Honeycutt and Nora Honeycutt; her great grandchildren, Jaylee, Jordan, Jett, Holden, Colin, Juliette, Exa, Hunter, Abby, Lucas, Leon and one grandchild on the way; one brother, Roger (Hazel) Clemons; and a sister, Brenda Smith.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Clayton Floyd and Virginia Dare Tester Slagle. Martha was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. She formerly had worked in the City of Johnson City Manager’s Office and also at Nanny’s Country Kitchen. She was involved in the Recovery Soldiers Ministries. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Perry Ford, who passed away August 16, 2021, and a brother, Tony Slagle. Survivors include her daughter, Kim (Reggie) Scalf; three sons, Jeff Lethcoe, Evie and Jerry Lethcoe and Jimmy Ford; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Hart (Gator) Dickie Tester; and one aunt, Betty Harris. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, February 16, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with her grandson, Pastor Joshua Scalf, officiating. Active pallbearers will be Michael Williams, Tony Slagle Jr., Mitch Presnell, Terry Rose, Zachary Rose, Freddie Malone, Brian Bowman and Gator Tester.     ELIZABETHTON - Robert "Dale" Bowling, Jr., 49 of Elizabethton passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018.

    A native and lifelong member of the Elizabethton community, he is the son of Dale Bowling, Sr. He is preceded in death by grandparents, Elmer and Lillian Bowling.

    Dale was a loving husband, father, and great and loyal friend to many. He graduated from Happy Valley High School and was very proud of his accomplishments in baseball, basketball, and especially football. He proudly served six years in the US Air Force. Dale has worked for Whitehead Construction Incorporated for the past seven years as Vice President.

    In addition to his father, those left to cherish Dale's memory include: wife, Bernadette; children, Cara Bowling and Christopher Bowling; sister, Kristie Bowling; niece, Kaitlyn Bowling; and nephew, Logan Bowling.

    The family would like to extend a special thank you to his dear friend, Michael Whitehead of Whitehead Construction Inc., who was more like a brother to him.

    A visitation will be held in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City on Friday, December 21, 2018 beginning at 11:00 am until a celebration of Robert's life beginning at 1:00 pm with Rev. Harold Morelock officiating. A graveside service will follow at Mountain Home National Cemetery at 2:30 pm. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
