    MOUNTAIN CITY — Robert Earnest 'Bob' Davis, age 96, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016 at Indian Path Medical Center.

    He was born on April 19, 1920, to the late Will A Davis and Minnie Belle Jenkins Davis.

    In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sisters, Bess Vaught and Lee Davidson; and brothers, Joe Davis and Jim Davis.

    Bob was a World War II Veteran having honorable served in the United States Army. Bob owned and operated Davis Paint and Body Shop and Davis Glass for 70 years. He also enjoyed law enforcement and was a constable for several years. Bob proudly served as one of the Honor Guardsmen at Teddy Roosevelt's funeral. Bob had several hobbies and a few of his favorites were photography, boating and fishing. He also enjoyed his cats. Bob was an avid TN Football fan and a fan of the Lawrence Welk's show and had even met Lawrence and some of the singers of the show. He was a member of First Baptist Church and had also attended Mountain City Presbyterian Church.

    Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 69 years, Wilma Davis; children, Mary Alice Coffey and husband Mike of Deep Gap, NC, Betty Sue Davis Greer & fiancé Johnny Campbell of Butler, TN, Mike Davis and wife Lori of Mountain City, TN, John Ed Davis of Mountain City, TN, Tommy Davis & wife Cynthia of Parker, CO, Gary Davis & wife Jayme of Yulee, FL, Jeff Davis of Mountain City, TN; grandchildren, Michael Coffey and wife Robin of Pinehurst, NC, Michael Davis and wife Caitlin of Phenix City, AL, Amanda Mills and husband Blake of Yulee, FL, Brittany Reece and husband Mitchell of Trade, TN, Daniel Greer of Trade, TN, Isabella Davis and Madeline Davis, both of Yulee, FL; many special friends and several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.

    The family will receive friends from 6 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at the Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor David Hankal officiating.

    Graveside Service and Interment with military honors accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard will be conducted at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016, at the Mountain Home National VA Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Greer, Neil Arnold, Johnny Campbell and Lynn Campbell. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. James Shine, Dr. Robbie Gorby, Medical Staff and Chaplain at Indian Path Medical Center, Tom Icenhour and Bill Trivette.
