    Evelyn Estep Taylor, 83, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011, in the Ivy Hall Nursing Home following an exteded illness. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late George H. Estep, Sr. and Bessie Noris Estep. Evelyn was a former employee of Ivy Hall Nursing Home and for several years was associated with her husband in the operation of J. N. Taylor Grocery Store. She was a member of the Moores Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, J. N. Taylor; a daughter, Sue Nave; a son, Dwight Nave; a sister, Grace Estep and two brothers, Porter and N. D. Estep. Survivors include four brothers and sisters-in-law, George H. Estep, Jr. and wife Betty Jo, Paul and Maxine Estep and Lee Edwin and Gaye Estep, all of Elizabethton, and Huey and Lydia Estep, Arcadia, California; a sister-in-law, Johnie Estep, Elizabethton; a grandson, Patrick Nave; several nieces and nephews; two step-daughters, Lana Diane Garrison, Watauga and Deloras "Cissy" Campbell, Elizabethton; six step-grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2011, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Chris Hughes officiating. Internment will follow in the Estep Family Cemetery. Music will be provided by David Estep, organist; Debbie Gouge, soloist; Chris Hughes, soloist; and David Batchelder, trumpeter. Pallbearers will be nephews. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Judy and Victor Deloach and the staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home for all the excellent [care] that Evelyn has received.

    George H. Estep, Jr., 81, Elizabethton passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 in Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a lengthy illness. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late George H. Estep, Sr. and Bessie Norris Estep. He was a retired farmer and [retired from] North American Rayon Corporation. "Junior" served as a Water Commissioner of the First Utility District. He operated Stoney Creek Bus Line for a number of years. Junior was a member of the Dungan Chapel Baptist Church. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

    In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years: Betty Jo Bishop Estep, two sisters: Evelyn Taylor and Grace Estep and three brothers: Porter, N D & Paul Estep. Survivors include three sons & daughters-in-law: Mike & Karen Estep, Jeff & Sharon Estep and David & Becky Estep. Seven grandchildren: Mike Estep, Jr., Brandon Estep, Kristi Hyder, Ethan Estep, Josh Estep, Jacob Estep and Christopher Estep. Six great grandchildren: Damon Estep, Bryston Estep, Drake Estep, Madelynn Estep, Carson Estep and Trevor Hyder. Two brothers: Lee Edwin Estep and wife Gay, Elizabethton and Huey Estep & wife Lydia, Arcadia, California. Several nieces & nephews. His special friends: Cleta Lingerfelt and Tom & Marie Oxendine and a special little friend: Rylan Crabtree.

    Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in the Estep Family Cemetery with the Rev. Eric Heaton officiating. Burial will follow the service. Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Johnny Hyder. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Dungan Chapel Baptist Church.

    A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late George H. Estep, Sr. and
    Bessie Norris Estep. He attended Unaka High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

    Paul was co-owner of Memorial Funeral Chapel that opened in August 1972. In 2004, he was recognized by the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association for 50 years of service in the funeral business. He was on the Board of Directors of Elizabethton Federal Savings Bank. He was a member of the following organizations: Dashiell Masonic Lodge #238, A 32nd Degree Mason, The American Legion Post Watauga 49 and the Sycamore Chapter #163, Order of Eastern Star.

    In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters: Grace Estep and Evelyn Taylor; and two brothers: Porter and N D; a niece: Sue Nave; and a nephew: Dwight Nave.

    Survivors include his wife of 56 years: Ola Maxine Elliott Estep; two daughters: Kim Estep Wright and husband, Jeff, and Jill Estep Cooper and husband, Art, all of Johnson City; three grandchildren: Chris Wright and wife, Jennifer, Jordan Wright and Whitney Wright; four great grandchildren; three brothers: Lee Edwin Estep and wife, Gay, and George H. Estep, Jr. and wife, Betty Jo, all of Elizabethton, and Huey Estep and wife, Lydia, Arcadia, California; two sisters-in-law: Johnie Estep, Elizabethton, and Nilene Hopkins, Johnson City; several nieces & nephews.

    ELIZABETHTON - Lee Edwin Estep, 84, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022 in the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late George H. & Bessie Norris Estep. He was a graduate of Unaka High School. Lee was a retired employee of Nuclear Fuel after 40 years of service. He was also employed with Oil & Chemical Atomic Union of Unicoi. He loved working with wood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers: Paul, George Jr., Porter, N.D. and Huey Estep and two sisters: Evelyn Taylor and Grace Estep. Lee was a member of Valley Forge Christian Church.

    Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years: Gay Finney Estep. We were blessed with a special son whom he adored, Matthew Estep, Other survivors include a daughter: Robin (Keith) Elliott. Two Grandchildren: Valorie Elliott Parrish and Joshua Elliott. Three Nieces including a special niece Kim Wright, Seven Nephews and several cousins .His brother-in-law: Larry Finney. A Special neighbor: Addison Holden

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, November 13, 2022 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. David Siebenaler, Minister officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Hope, Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Karen Sams, Pianist. Active Pallbearers will be: Larry, Doug, Mike and Jeff Estep, Danny Holden and Keith Elliott. Honorary Pallbearers will be his Church family.

    Roger Wade Estep, 70, Elizabethton, passed away on April 20, 2022, surrounded by his family. Roger was the son of the late N.D. Estep and Johnie Pierce Estep. He was also preceded in death by a brother, David Estep, who passed right after birth.
    Roger served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era and retired from James H. Quillen Veterans Hospital. He enjoyed his family, traveling and playing golf.
    Survivors include his daughters, Tammy Lancaster (Nathan) and Crystal Bilbery (Daniel); his grandchildren, Noah, Hayden, Adamina, Fletcher, and Sophie. He is also survived by three brothers, John Hobert, Larry “Capp” and Doug Estep; one special sister, Joyce “Sissy” Estep; special friend, Kaye Moody; an uncle and several cousins; and his fur baby “Little Bit” the one-eyed cat.
    Graveside services for Roger will be held at the Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section) on Tuesday, April 26, at 11 a.m., with Military Honors being provided by Veterans Honor Guard DAV 39 Bluff City. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

    ELIZABETHTON - David Kenneth Estep, 57, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021 in the Johnson City Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born December 11, 1963 in Elizabethton to the late George H. Estep, Jr., & Betty Jo Bishop Estep. David was a graduate of Unaka High School, he attended Carson Newman College , ETSU and Milligan College majoring in music. He worked at American Water Heater for 28 years.
    David was a very talented musician, composer, arranger and teacher. He composed and published works for the organ, piano and hand bells. He also taught piano & organ for several years. David served as organist at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church for 18 years, also Central Baptist Church, Johnson City and First Baptist Church of Elizabethton.
    Survivors include his wife: Rebecca Hamrick Estep, one son: Christopher Benjamin Estep of the home: two Brothers: Mike (Karen) Estep and Jeff (Sharron) Estep.
    A Service to Celebrate the life of David Estep will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2021 in the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Kerry Jenkins and John Bunn officiating. Music will be provided by a former organ student Jack Nelson.
