    JOHNSON CITY - Willie Faye Johnson, 89, of Johnson City, died on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Lakebridge Health Care Center. She was a native of Johnson City, daughter of the late James "Jim" and Anna Carr Vaughn.

    Willie Faye was a retired homemaker, mother and grandmother.

    She was of the Baptist faith.

    In addition to her parents, two sons and a daughter preceded her in death; Larry and Jim Johnson and Sandra McCray; two brothers, Edward and Jim Vaughn; two sisters, Mary Oxendine and Betty Wilson; and a granddaughter, Michelle Johnson.

    Survivors include: four daughters, Linda Johnson of Johnson City, Rita Taylor of Gray, Teresa Hathaway of Johnson City and Frankie Johnson of Lawrenceville, GA; a son, Ed Johnson of Greenville, SC; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the Dogwood Chapel under the direction of Rev. Johnny Byrd at 1:00 pm. Special music will be provided by: Earl D. Fannon. A committal will be conducted at Carr cemetery following the funeral service. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

    Mrs. Hamp-ton was a mem-ber of the Sky-line Heights Bap-tist Church. She was a home-maker.
    Sur-vi-vors in-clude: one son, Lynn Hamp-ton; one daugh-ter, Mary Ann Hin-shaw and her hus-band, CL; one sis-ter, Anna Jean Bas-kett; three grand-chil-dren, Lisa Miles, San-dra Hamp-ton and Karen Pear-son; three great grand-chil-dren, Logan Miles, Rebecca Pear-son and Rachel Pear-son; two neph-ews, Jim and Char-les Baines; spe-cial friend, Patrick Ryan.
    The fam-ily of Mrs. Thelma Wil-lard Hamp-ton will re-ceive friends from 1 to 2 PM Tues-day, April 14, 2015, in the Mor-ris-Baker Funeral Home.

    Mrs. Marjorie May Stephens Brown, age 78, Jonesborough, beloved Wife, Mother, and Nanny, was taken to be with her Lord after a lengthy illness on Monday, September 14, 2015, at her residence.

    Mrs. Brown was born in Washington County and daughter of the late Ambrose Frank and Margaret Keys May. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, John F. May and Robert Joseph "Joe" May; sisters, M. Carolyn "Cardi" Clark and Margaret Wynn.

    Mrs. Brown retired as an International Communication Supervisor from Wabco Inc. in Peoria, Ill. After retirement she moved to Morristown, Tennessee, and went to work for Cemco Inc.

    She was a member of First Christian Church of Morristown, where she enjoyed singing in the choir.

    Survivors include her husband, Ralph Brown, of the home; children, Donna Stephens, Church Hill, Judy Stephens-Runion, Jonesborough, Michael Stephens Ill; brothers, William May and Jack May; grandchildren, Matthew Slaughter, Church Hill, Daniel Stephens, Jonesborough, Jeremy Stephens Ill, and Patrick Stephens Ill; great-grandchildren, Levi Stephens, Scarlett Slaughter and Alexander Slaughter.

    Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 24, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Anglin officiating.

    The family will receive family and friends Wednesday September 22, 2015, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.

    Graveside for Mrs. Brown will be Thursday following the Funeral service at Maple Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Slaughter, Michael Stephens, Daniel Stephens, Tim Runion, John Mottern and Terry Winters.

    The family would like to say a special Thank You to caregivers Karen Walker and Patty Stamper for their loving care.

    KISSIMMEE, FL - In Loving Memory of Elizabeth Lynne Oxendine Farrell 64 of Kissimmee, Florida who died October 8, 2021. She was born December 7, 1956 to George Oxendine and Mary Vaughn Oxendine in Johnson City, Tennessee. Elizabeth was an Assistant Apartment Manager for 30 years and anyone who knew her loved her and said she was kind. Elizabeth was a loving mother and cherished friend.

    Elizabeth is survived by her son Chase Farrell and her granddaughter Rayne Elizabeth Farrell and loved them with all her heart. She is also survived by her sister Patsy Lee and her brother Richard Oxendine.

    Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents George and Mary Oxendine, her sister Kathy Oxendine, and her brothers Wayne, Winston, Jerry, and Ronald.

    Elizabeth will be missed by everyone she knew and touched.

    Graveside burial service will be Friday, August 19, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Carr Cemetery, Watauga Road, Watauga Flats.
