David J. Slimp, 89, of Neva, Tenn., died at his home Wednesday morning at 12 o'clock.
Surviving are five children, Stacy Slimp of Butler, J. E. Slimp and Mrs. S. S. Stout, both of Neva, Mrs. L. J. Mink of Shouns, and C. F. Slimp of Neva.
The deceased was a member of the 13th Tennessee Cavalry in the Civil War. He was a charter member of the Christian Church of Neva and had been a deacon of the church for 40 years.
Funeral services will be conducted from the late residence this afternoon at 3 o'clock, the Rev. J. N. Shephard officiating. Burial will be in the family cemetery.

Mrs. Caroline Arnold, died Thursday, Aug. 18 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dottie WILSON at Shouns, following an illness of several months. She was the widow of the late Daniel Arnold

Mrs. John H. Hinkle, age 80, died at 10:30 Friday evening at her home in Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Naoma Slemp, pioneer settlers of Johnson county.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Sinking Creek Baptist church, this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with interment in the Happy Valley Memorial Park.
Survivors are the husband, John Hinkle of Johnson City; three sons, Edward W. and Clyde Hinkle of Johnson City, Fred Hinkle of Jonesboro; and three daughters, Mrs. W. B. Buckles, Mrs. Stuart Lewis of Carter and Mrs. W. G. Frye of Johnson City.

Survivors other than her husband, include three daughters, Mrs. Tyler Wilson of Mountain City, Mrs. George Kyle of Media, Pa., and Mrs. Oscar Fritts, Neva; one son, Claude Wagner of Neva; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Robert Matheson of Bristol.
Funeral services were held at the Vaughts Gap Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Monday, with Rev. Theodore Robinson, Rev. Emory Lewis, and H. T. Mabry officiating. Burial followed in the Brown Cemetery at Neva.
Flower bearers were members of the Adult Ladies class of the church, and pallbearers were the friends.

Ethel R. Woods, age 89, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born on March 19, 1927 to the late Johnny and Maude Arnold Slimp. In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her grandson, David Mullis; great grandchild, Daniel Mullis; brothers: Earl, Bascom, and Ray Slemp.

Ethel was a wonderful, kind, generous, and caring lady who made everyone feel most important. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren and her church family. She enjoyed gardening and flowers and loved her pets.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Ethel is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Eller and husband Danny; sisters: Mary Cornett and Nell May; grandchildren: Kevin Mullis and Chequita Meade Gorman and husband Peter; great grandchildren: Johnathan and wife Jessica, Angel, Jessica and Christian; great-great grandchildren: Gabe, Tyler, Javon, Collin and Chloe; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2016 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastors Steven Spencer, Chuck Morefield and Shannon Courtner officiating. Special music will be provided by the Calvary Baptist Church Choir. Graveside service and interment will follow at the Slemp Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick May, Terry Slemp, Lee Farley, Kenneth Johnson, Clint Dunn and Charlie Morefield. Honorary pallbearers are Rick Farley, Willie Arnold, and Rev. Russell Ward.

Mary Lynn Cornett, age 90, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2019 at the Mountain City Care Center. She was born on March 1, 1929 in Johnson County, TN to the late Johnny Edward Slemp and Maude Ann Arnold Slemp. In addition to her parents, Mary Lynn was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Cornett; sister, Ethel Woods, brothers, Earl Slemp, Bascom Slemp and Ray Slemp.

Mary Lynn enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening and working puzzles. She enjoyed a lifetime of fishing. Mary Lynn was also very proud of her grapevine. She was a member of Locust Gap Freewill Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Millie Arnold and husband Willie, Judy Ellison and husband Jerry; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Arnold and wife Cheryll, Kristy Livermore and husband Eugene, Wesley Arnold and wife Sybil, and J.R. Ellison, great-grandchildren, Kaden Livermore, Ezra Livermore, Parker Derry, sister, Nell May, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2019 from the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shannon Courtner officiating. The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 prior to the funeral service. The graveside service and interment will follow at the Slemp Cemetery (Slemp Branch Rd.). Pallbearers will be, Steve Dunn, Wayne Vaught, Warren May, Ben May, James Brewer and Keith Gwinn. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Mullis, Danny Eller, Ed Walker, Willie Arnold, J.R. Ellison, Jerry Ellison, Wesley Arnold, Jeffrey Arnold, and Eugene Livermore.

Mr. Slemp was born on May 24, 1918 in Johnson County to the late Charlie F. and Nettie Arney Slemp. He was a truck driver for many years and retired from Tri-State Growers. He liked to farm and garden. He was a member of Vaughts Gap Baptist Church.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Elsie Mercer, Venie Wilson and Clydie Bear; brother, Orville Slemp; and a son-in-law, Jim Rupard.

The family of Elizabeth Priscilla Slemp Gentry are saddened to announce the passing of their beloved Mother on December 18, 2021, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home. She was 97 years of age at the time of her passing. Elizabeth was a daughter, Mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, friend, farmer, and homemaker. She was born at home in the Neva community of Johnson County, Tennessee, on December 30, 1923, to Charles Franklin “Charlie” and Nettie Florence Arney Slemp. Elizabeth attended Brownlow Elementary School and Johnson County High School from which she graduated in 1941. She furthered her education by attending Business School in Elizabethton, Tennessee. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, reading her Bible, spending time with family and being an active member of the Johnson County Senior center. She was a member Pleasant View Christian Church and also attended God’s Country Church.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, her five siblings Elsie Slemp Mercer and husband, Paul, of Winsor, Virginia; Vennie Slemp Wilson and husband Robert of Mountain City, Tennessee; Clydie Slemp Bear and husband Marion, of Champaign, Illinois; Orville Slemp and wife Lola of Mountain City, Tennessee; McDonald Slemp and wife Ruby of Mountain City, Tennessee, her two husbands, Carl Smith Courtner and Richard Dale Gentry, and one grandson, Mark Blaine Courtner of Mountain City, Tennessee.

Mr. Claude Edward Wagner, age 91, of 603 Maple Road, Mountain City, TN, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in High Point, NC, and went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday evening, June 17, 2009.

He was the son of the late James "Tice" and Addie Slemp Wagner and was a Charter Member of Vaughts Gap Baptist Church where he was a deacon and helped with the building of the church. His hobbies included gardening and yard work and he loved watching westerns. He especially enjoyed visiting all his neighbors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Wagner, in May 2009; three sisters: Nell Fritts, Maude Dal Medo and Hattie Wilson.

Survivors include: three daughters: Brenda Putman and husband A. G. of Sophia, NC; Nancy Lewis and husband Ivan and Wanda Cox and husband Chris, both of High Point, NC; one son: Larry Wagner and wife Fran of High Point, NC; eight grandchildren: Sandra Flynn of Belews Creek, NC; Alan Putman and Jonathan Manring, both of Winston-Salem, NC; Tammy Lewis, Jason Lewis and Mark Wagner, all of High Point, NC; Angie Burney of Thomasville, NC; and Wrenn Cox of Richmond, VA; eleven great grandchildren: Abbi Thomas, Caitlin Thomas, Emma Manring, Grace Manring, Bailey Wagner, Sidney Wagner, Garrett Putman, Wayne Lewis, Jaiden Lewis and Kelsi Heilig, and Janae Deslanders; and one nephew: Barton Fritts.

MOUNTAIN CITY — Robert Earnest 'Bob' Davis, age 96, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016 at Indian Path Medical Center.

He was born on April 19, 1920, to the late Will A Davis and Minnie Belle Jenkins Davis.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sisters, Bess Vaught and Lee Davidson; and brothers, Joe Davis and Jim Davis.

Bob was a World War II Veteran having honorable served in the United States Army. Bob owned and operated Davis Paint and Body Shop and Davis Glass for 70 years. He also enjoyed law enforcement and was a constable for several years. Bob proudly served as one of the Honor Guardsmen at Teddy Roosevelt's funeral. Bob had several hobbies and a few of his favorites were photography, boating and fishing. He also enjoyed his cats. Bob was an avid TN Football fan and a fan of the Lawrence Welk's show and had even met Lawrence and some of the singers of the show. He was a member of First Baptist Church and had also attended Mountain City Presbyterian Church.

James Howard Friddles. James may be hard to track down given the fact that he was adopted by the Cleaton family (Tennessee); don't know their first names. When he was adopted, he took their name and became James Howard Cleaton. The other children (Bessie, Jessie and Calonia (not Caldonia)) were also adopted. I think Calonia was adopted with my father by the Cleatons but I am not altogether certain of this fact. I do know that they were adopted out in 2s, except for Uncle Walter. Bessie and Jessie stayed together, James Howard and Calonia stayed together.

I know my grandmother Dora died shortly after my daddy was born (maybe 2 years after). My grandfather found it difficult to raise 5 children alone and remarried (don't know her name). The new wife did not want to be saddled with all these kids and gave my grandfather an ultimatum to either get rid of the children or her. He took all the children to the train station (where a photo was taken of all of them) and they boarded a train to take the children to an orphanage. He dropped the children off at the orphanage and came back home. After some time had passed (don't know how much time), he had major regrets over choosing this woman over his kids. He filed for divorce and was boarding the train to go get his kids back when the new wife shot him and killed him right there at the train station. Needless to say, my grandfather and the children were never reunited. That's how come they stayed in the orphanage and were adopted.

Ruby Kate Wilson Moody, age 93, of Mountain City, Tennessee passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 at the Mountain City Care Center. She was born on April 15, 1923 to the late Dr. William Clyde Wilson and Dottie Arnold Wilson. In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by a one sister, six brothers and a grandson, Michael Moody.

Ruby enjoyed the outdoors very much, especially feeding and watching the birds and her flowers. Ruby loved her family very much and loved cooking and having family get togethers. She was a gifted quilter and made many treasured quilts for her family. She had a special love for animals, especially cats and dogs, of which she had several throughout the years. Ruby was always willing to help others and volunteered at the Mountain City Care Center and Welcome Center. She always loved a good yard sale and the contents in her out building were proof of that.

She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist church.

JONESBOROUGH - Mr. Ralph Junior Triplett, age 88, Jonesborough, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mr. Triplett was a native of Johnson County and the son of the late Coy and Iva Slemp Triplett. He was also preceded in death by his wife Francis Beckett Triplett, one brother, Maynard Triplett, two sisters, Gladys Wagner and Mary Evans.

Mr. Triplett retired from Baxter Pharmaceuticals and was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church.

Mr. Triplett was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed working on the farm and in his garden.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Mitch and Jeanene Triplett, nephews, Bryon Wagner, Denny Evans, Marion Howell, nieces, Cathy Belt and Kay Barfield.

ELIZABETHTON - Lee Hasferd Slemp, 80, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at his residence after a brief illness.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Oliver S. & Winnie Wilson Slemp. He was a 1954 graduate of Happy Valley High School and attended Steed College. Hasferd served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. In earlier years he was a truck driver and was employed in the Carpenter Shop at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. Until his retirement, he was Manager at the Watauga Baptist Lodge, Ridgecrest, North Carolina. Hasferd was a 50 year member of Watauga Masonic Lodge #622 and was a member of Jericho Shrine Temple, Kingsport. He was a member and former Chairman of the Deacon Board at Oak Street Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Hugh Slemp.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years: Emma Jean Fair Slemp. A Daughter: Valencia Greenwell, Elizabethton. A Son: Greg Slemp, Elizabethton. ELIZABETHTON - James Oliver "Jim" Slemp, 78, Elizabethton went to be with his Lord, Friday, July 19, 2019 at the Johnson City Medical Center.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Oliver S. & Winnie Wilson Slemp. Jim was a 1959 graduate of Happy Valley High School. He was retired from the Southern Railway Company after 25 years of service in the Richmond, Virginia Division. After retirement Jim & Ann returned to Elizabethton from Burkeville, Virginia where they lived for 20 years. He was a member of the Burkeville Fire Department for 17 years upon departure was awarded an Honorary Membership. He was also a member of the Town Council of Burkeville. After returning to Elizabethton he was employed as an Assistant Superintendent with the Carter County Highway Department. Jim loved his church, Oak Street Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer and hunter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Hasferd Slemp and his brothers & sisters-In-law: Lena Rowe, Joan Faulkner, Sue Hill, Homer Hyder and Richard Hyder.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years: Ann Hyder Slemp. His Children: Francie (Scott) Elrod, Johnson City, James Oliver Slemp, Jr.(Anita), Mercersburg, Pa. and Scotty Slemp, Elizabethton. Six Grandsons: Nathan, Nick, Connor Slemp, Tre Brown, Alex & Jacob Tolley. His sister: Marti Tuelle. His brothers: John L. (Betty) Slemp, Jerry (Janice) Slemp and Johnny Trivette. Mrs. Edna Minks Leonard, age 91, of Jonesborough, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at her residence.

Mrs. Leonard was a native of Johnson County. She was the daughter of the late Ross M. Minks and Ida Heck Minks. In addition to her parents, her husband, Linkes J. Leonard; one brother, James E. Minks; also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Leonard was a homemaker. She was of the Christian faith.

Mimi was born January 19, 1933 in Mountain City, Tennessee to the late B.C. and Donnie Stout. She truly loved her family, and especially her great grandchildren. She always loved doing things for others and never wanted anything in return for herself; she enjoyed cooking and was an avid reader.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ambrose Cornett, and one sister, Mary Lee Vaughn.

Mr. Dean L. Stout, age 78, of 1186 Stout Branch Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013, in the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness.
Dean was born on February 7, 1935, in Johnson County, Tennessee, to the late D.L. Snyder and Virginia Stout Coffey. He was also preceded in death by a son, Stephen Dale Stout.
Dean was a member of Vaught's Gap Baptist Church and regularly attended the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church also. Dean enjoyed working with his backhoe and farming, especially working with his cattle.
Dean was a current Johnson County Commissioner, a former Circuit Court clerk for eight years and a United States Marine Corps Veteran.
He was a former member of the Roan Creek Masonic Lodge #679 F&AM in Butler, Tennessee, and a 32nd Degree Mason.
Survivors include: son, Michael L. and wife, Vicki A. Buddy was a sweet and loving man. He retired as a truck driver after driving for 47 years.

He was born on June 14, 1935 to the late Oscar and Nell Wagner Fritts.

In addition to his parents, Bart was preceded in death by his first wife, Teresa Fritts, and a brother, Glenn Fritts.

Bart was a former United States Postal Chief and was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Sue Madron Parsons, age 91, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away quietly on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at the Mountain City Care Center. She was born on April 28, 1925 to the late Hillary and Venie Wilson Madron of Trade, TN. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her former spouse Jim Parsons, her brothers: Earl Madron (Gaile), Curtis Madron (Johnsie); her sisters: Ruth Seehorn (Reid), Lucille Eller (Bill), Millie Seiss (Richard), and Lois Wills (Bob), along with several nieces and nephews.

Growing up in the hills of the Bulldog Community in Trade, TN, left a lasting impact on Sue and her six siblings. They all were imprinted with a high regard for their elders, a deep responsibility to their children, a love of the land, and reaching out to those less fortunate.

During World War II, Sue moved to Marion, Virginia to help with the war effort by working in a defense factory.

Although Sue’s vocation was hair dresser at which she worked for over thirty years, her avocation was caregiver, and that’s what she was really born to do. She not only cared for the infirmed, whose families employed her services, she also gave special care and attention to her beauty shop customers who were often among the elderly.

But the special care, the care that only a mother and grandmother can give, was reserved for her daughter and her grandsons whom she cherished and adored, and for whom she would do anything within her power.

Her life, her real life, was cut short by the Alzheimer’s that stole her mind some twenty-six years ago. As a result, she was a resident of Mountain City Care and Rehab for over twelve years where she received excellent care along with love and kindness from the nursing staff, Dr. John Whitlock, and Daniel Jones, PA. The family would also like to thank Ginger Peters for her care for many years at Mountain City Care Center.

Funeral service for Sue will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steven Spencer and Pastor Ricky Campbell officiating. She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Eddy Nave, Elizabethton, Tennessee; her grandparents, Charlie and Ninnie Nave and F. E. and Maude Johnson; aunts and uncles, Rebecca and Kermit Reece, Martin and Hazel Johnson, and Ohlan and Nell Rambo.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include one sister, Mary Nave, Danville, California; a sister-in-law, Brenda Nave, Elizabethton, Tennessee; cousins, Susie and Charles Stovall, Winston-Salem, North Carolina; their daughter Suzanne and husband John Mann and their children, Ashton and Alexis Mann; their son Chip and wife Carol Stovall, Kansas; their children Anna and Charlie Stovall, Kansas; Pat Luther, Knoxville and Bob and Grace Rambo, Virginia.

Graveside services were conducted Monday, June 2, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain City, Tennessee with Dwayne Dickson and Ken Caswell officiating.

Interment followed in the Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain City, Tennessee.

Pallbearers were Roger Gentry and elders and deacons of the church and friends.

Carolyn Moody Pleasant, age 60, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017. She was born on July 23, 1956 to the late Edward Dean Moody and Ruby Kate Wilson Moody.

Carolyn loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed hiking. She had a special love for animals, especially her dogs.

Those left to cherish her memories include her son, Randy 'Bo' Pleasant; sister, Nancy Mahala and husband Buster; brothers; Billy Moody, Jimmy Moody and wife Barbara and Danny Moody; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Carolyn will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shannon Courtner officiating.

Phyllis Dean Arnold, 80, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at Signature Health Care of Elizabethton following an extended illness. Phyllis was born in Elizabethton to the late Anders Odell "A.O." Buckles and Daisy Smith Buckles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Arnold, and her brothers, Troy and Norman Buckles.
Phyllis was a homemaker and a member of Dungan Chapel Baptist Church. She was an avid reader, gardener, storyteller and sports enthusiast. She was also quite a fact finder and searcher of how things worked. Phyllis and her husband were living examples of the Bible verse, 1 John 3-18, "Little children, let us not love with word or tongue but in deed and truth." Though they did not have children by birth, they were blessed with a parent's heart and love. They became parents to all the children in the family, any they met and any person who needed love, regardless of age. Her life was God's given love of family, friends and children.
Phyllis is survived by a large extended family.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate the life of Phyllis Dean Arnold will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 28, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Todd Hallman officiating.

Flaura “Jeanette” Campbell, 81, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was born on November 8, 1939 to the late Roy and Lena Buckles Bowers. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Campbell, and two brothers, Gary Bowers and Dairus Bowers.
Jeanette was a homemaker who loved to cook and bake for her family. She collected recipes and tried many of them on her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister to all her family and will be forever missed.
Survivors include two daughters, Jewell (Kenneth) Lowe and Leslie (Harold Lynn) Arnold, all of Elizabethton; three grandchildren, who she spoiled all their lives, Brandi (Michael) Hartsell, Michael Bowers and fiancée Courtney McCury and Kenny Lowe, all of Elizabethton; two great-granddaughters, Thea and Tegan Lowe; one sister, Judy (Shirrell) Bowers; and three brothers, Randy (Betty) Bowers, Dewey (Judy) Bowers and Willard Loveless, all of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive as well as her faithful loving grand-pup, “Ranger,” who she adored.
The graveside service will be conducted at noon Wednesday, April 28, in the Garland Cemetery, Bulldog Hollow Road, with Mr. Kelley Bowers speaking. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kenny Lowe and Michael Bowers; her son-in-law, Harold Lynn Arnold; Joel Kress and Malcom Kress, Larry Bowers and Chuckie Bowers. Honorary pallbearers will be all nephews and nieces, Tommy Campbell, Kenneth Lowe and Shirrell Bowers.

MOUNTAIN CITY - Hilda B. Madron Lewis, age 78 of Mountain City passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at her home. Hilda was born on September 9, 1942 to the late Earl Madron and Gaile Hammond Madron in Trade, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Toll W. Lewis; brother, John Ma99dron; sisters, Hope Madron Payne (Marion), Helen Madron Treadway (Gene); nephew, David Lewis; sisters-in-law, Opal Lewis, Ruby Graybeal, Ruth Lewis, Willa Dean Lewis; brothers-in-law, Bruce Lewis, Dana Lewis, Kyle Lewis, Wilson Graybeal, Marion Payne, McArthur Williams.

Hilda was a 1960 graduate of Johnson County High School. After school, she worked for the Chrysler Corporation for over 35 years. In 2000 after retiring and taking a celebratory trip to Alaska, Hilda and Toll returned home to their beloved mountains to build a lovely home and be surrounded by their family and friends. They created a welcoming home that would accommodate a lot of people because they planned on hosting family gatherings including breakfasts, weddings, showers, and reunions, and that they did.

Hilda was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, but she attended First Baptist Church. She was a wonderful cook and loved to prepare meals for large groups such as the Lewis Family and others who were often invited over for breakfast or for the annual Madron Reunion which also included overnight guests. She also loved to travel and really enjoyed going on trips with her friends and family along with senior groups.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son William E. Lewis and wife Michelle of Bear, DE; granddaughter, Hannah Lewis; step grandson, Gavin Brown; her dear sister, Hallie Madron Williams; sister-in-law, Sandra Madron; brothers-in-law: Earl Dean Lewis, Wallace Lewis and wife Ruby; Aunt, Jackie Thomas; Dear friend, Bud Brown; nieces: Leslie Reali, Tammy Madron, Missy Timbs, Kelly Moore, Wanda Greer, Rhonda Proffitt, Lisa Jane Lewis, Kathy Hanson, Betty Goff, Judy Danbury; nephews: Jimmy, Eric and Cody Madron; many great nieces and nephews in Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and South Carolina; special friends: Patsy and Eddie Cavanaugh, Estelle Lewis, and Nancy Wills. The family would like to express many thanks to Nancy Townsend as the primary caregiver and to the many family members and friends who helped during this difficult time.

Vickie Wills Reece, age 61, of Trade, Tennessee passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 8, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born on April 16, 1956 to the late Robert Burman Wills and Lois Madron Wills. In addition to her parents, Vickie was preceded in death by grandparents, Hill and Venia Madron; brother, Robert E. 'Bobby' Wills; brother-in-law, Jeff Felty; nephew, Steve Perry.

Those left to cherish her memories include her children: Tina Edwards and husband Andy and Jamie Reece and wife Julianna; grandchildren: Shelby Lynn, Shelby, Brandon, Evan and Jace; sisters: Mary Sue Greever, Lois Anne McGuire and husband Charles and Debbie Felty; several nieces and nephews.

It was Vickie's wish to donate her body to science for cancer research and that no services be held.
