Hazel Riddle

Arden - Hazel Riddle Gentry, 89, formerly of Wellington Drive, Arden, died on Friday, January 4, 2013, at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center.

A native of Mitchell Co., Mrs. Gentry was a daughter of the late J.C. and Decky Gouge Riddle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe E. Gentry, who died in 1993, five sisters, and three brothers.

Mrs. Gentry loved children, and was most proud of raising her own children, and taking care of the children of others.

She is survived by her daughters, Lana Franklin and husband Wendell, of Warner Robins, GA; Barbara Gentry and fiancé Marshall Humphrey, of Asheville; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; special niece, Martha Cox; and her special friends, Sandra and Nancy Hensley.

A graveside service for Mrs. Gentry will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.

Hazel married Joe Emerson Gentry about 1943. Joe (son of John William Gentry and Dora Shelton) was born on 5 May 1915 in Madison County, , , North Carolina; died on 28 Sep 1993 in Buncombe County, , , North Carolina; was buried in Ashlawn Garden of Memories, , Buncombe County, North Carolina.
