    Notes:

    Ina Mae Hyder Estep, 90, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital after a brief illness.
    A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Claude & Blanche Grindstaff Hyder. Ina was a 1942 graduate of Unaka High School, where she played on the Lady Ranger Basketball Team . She worked as a Lab Technician at St. Elizabeth Hospital prior to going to work for Dr. Dillard Shoals & Dr. Cone. She worked there for 35 years.
    Ina was the oldest living member of Stoney Creek Baptist Church.
    IIn addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dan H. Estep, who died in 1995; by a son Rev. Richard H. "Dick" Estep, who died in 2014; two brothers: James H. & Clifford Hyder; and a sister-in-law: Lillian Hyder.
    Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law: Danette & Doug Hardin; Her daughter-in-law: Jan Estep; Four Grandchildren: Jeff (Sherri) Hardin, Lance Estep, Stephanie (Donald) Ensor and Shannon (Christy) Estep; 10 Great Grandchildren: Sarah, John-Wesley, Jesse and Rebekah Hardin, Brandi, Davy and Daniel Ensor, Aaron, Carissa & Jacob Estep; Several nieces & nephews.
    Graveside Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015, in the Grindstaff Cemetery with the Rev. David Foster officiating.
    Burial will follow the service. Pallbearers will be Grandsons & Great Grandsons.

    Buried:
    Danette Hardin, 77, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Daniel H. and Ina M. Estep. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rev. Richard Estep, and a grandson, Jesse Hardin.
    Those left to cherish her memories include her devoted husband of 59 years, David “Doug” Hardin; son, Jeff Hardin and wife Sherri; daughter, Stephanie Ensor and husband Donald; six grandchildren, Sarah Hardin (fiancé Weston Colbaugh), John-Wesley Hardin, Rebekah Hardin, Brandi Ensor (fiancé Chris Beach), Davy Ensor and Daniel Ensor; and a very special great-granddaughter, Allie Beach.
    Survivors also include five special sisters-in-law, Jan Estep, Georgia Ellis, Carol Hardin, Vera Smith and Karen Hardin, and life-long friends, Dean and Flo Grindstaff. In addition, she is survived by many nephews and nieces.
    Danette was a life-long member of Stoney Creek Baptist Church and was retired from the State of Tennessee Department of Human Services.
    A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, July 24, at 1 pm. at Blevins Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Music will be provided by the New Liberty Quartet. Pallbearers will be selected from grandsons and nephews in attendance. Friends and family are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 12:20 p.m. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to express a special thank you to her grandson, Davy Ensor, for his loving care and assistance during her illness, the staff of Caris Healthcare, and all the visits and meals from family, friends and neighbors.

    Rev. Richard Harvey "Dick" Estep, 69, Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord, Sunday December 28, 2014, at his residence following an extended illness. He was a Carter County native. He was a 1963 graduate of Unaka High School where he was a member of the Ranger Football Team for four years. Richard was ordained to the Ministry by his father-in-law Rev. Homer Salyer at Hunter Memorial Baptist Church forty two years ago. He had served the following Churches: Beck Mountain Baptist Church, Dungan Chapel Baptist Church and Stoney Creek Baptist Church. He also had held several revivals during his Ministry. He also had worked at PSG for 20 years. He was a member of Stoney Creek Baptist Church. Richard was preceded in death by his father: Daniel Harvey Estep, December 7, 1995.
    Survivors include his wife of 49 years: Janice Salyer Estep. Two Sons: Lance "The Duke" Estep, of the home and Shannon Estep and wife Christy, Elizabethton. Three Grandchildren: Aaron, Carissa and Jacob Estep. His Mother: Ina Hyder Estep. One Sister & Brother-In-Law: Danette & Doug Hardin, Elizabethton. Numerous nieces & nephews.
    A Service Honoring the life of Richard Harvey Estep will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2014, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Eric Heaton, Rev. Eric Wright and Rev. Roy Wilson (Ministers who Richard had ordained) officiating. Interment will follow in the Grindstaff Cemetery (Stoney Creek) with the Rev. Roger Haley and Rev. David Foster officiating. Music will be provided by Eric Heaton, The New Liberty Quartet and Debra Woods. Active Pallbearers will be: Aaron Estep, Desler Salyer, Roy Salyer, Doug Hardin, Jeffery Hardin, Jerry Proffitt, Jamie Buckles and Eddie Spears. Honorary Pallbearers will be: All his Nephews, Harold Bowers, Javy Taylor, Estel Taylor, Lanny White, Billy "Boo" Bishop, Ken Pierce and Ministers of the Watauga Baptist Association. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until the service hour Wednesday. Friends may also visit with the family and the residence.
