    Georgia Danner Buckles, 93, 10 Hemlock Street, Bristol, Tn. passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 in the Franklin Woods Community Hospital, Johnson City.

    A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Lee and Eva Sarah Mae Hodges Danner. She had lived most of her life in Carter County before moving to Bristol three years ago. She was a homemaker and was a carrier for the Johnson City Press for a number of years. She was a member of the Parkway Baptist Church, Bristol. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clay R. Buckles, a son: Sonny Clay Buckles, three brothers and six sisters.

    Survivors include Three Daughters & Sons-In-Law: Carolyn Janette & Robert Buck, Elizabethton, Goldia Rebecca & John Sommers, Johnson City and Sherry Anne & Gary Montgomery, Bristol. A Daughter-In-Law: Marcy Buckles, Johnson City. A Brother & Sister-In-Law: Charles Worley & Lois Danner, Mt. Juliet, TN. 9 Grandchildren: Lisa Buck Reavis, Robin Clay Sommers, Matthew Clay Buckles, Rev. Robert "Tom" Buck, John Christopher Sommers, Gary Wayne Montgomery, Michael Clayton Buckles, Micah Gamaliel Montgomery and Jared Robinson Montgomery. 4 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Gary Montgomery and Dr. Herb Reavis officiating.

    Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be her Grandson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery.

    Charlotte Danner Brown Bowers, 75, of Elizabethton, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

    A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Carmack and Effie Buckles Danner.

    Charlotte was a 1954 graduate of Elizabethton High School. She was retired from Pierce Salvage and was also formerly employed by TPI Corporation. She was a member of Sunset Free Will Baptist Church.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby Dee Brown; a daughter, Melinda "Mindy" Brown; a brother, Ralph Danner; and two sisters, Betty Estep and Eva Williams.

    Survivors include her husband, Clint C. Bowers; a granddaughter, Debra Russell Lambert and her husband, Shane, Elizabethton; a great-grandson, Brandon Lambert II; a brother and sister-in-law, Fornie and Mary Danner, Elizabethton; an uncle, Charles Worley Danner; a brother-in-law, Don Williams; a sister-in-law, Alice Danner, Knoxville; three step-sons and two step-daughters-in-law, Charles A. Bowers, of the home, Glenn and Cheryl Bowers, Elizabethton, and James and Tes Bowers of New York; and a step-grandson, Travis Bowers, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

    Funeral services for Mrs. Bowers will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Terry Richardson officiating. Music will be provided by Jeff Odom and Patti Whitson. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 26, in the Caldwell Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, will be Shane Lambert, Shane Holly, Jeff Smith, Jesse Irick, Chris Irick, Bea Crow, Darrell Kestner and Aaron Kestner. Honorary pallbearers will be her church family and friends. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to the staff of Pine Ridge Care Center and the staff of the ICU at Sycamore Shoals Hospital for the excellent care that was received. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence.     On Sunday, March 5, 2017, a golden heart stopped beating when Mrs. Pauline Taylor, 83, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord. Mrs. Taylor was a daughter of the late Roby and Ira Glenn Bowers Danner and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron "Chig" Taylor, two step sisters, Mag Nidiffer and Ella Buckles and a step-brother, Skyler Bowers.

    Mrs. Taylor was retired from Southeastern Apparel and was a member of Moore's Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. She loved to shop with her family, dine out, and especially enjoyed the holidays.

    Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Barbara Sams, and her husband, Guy, Elizabethton; Judy Peters, Morganton, NC; Patty Glover, Elizabethton, two sisters, Oma Jean Woods, Pansy Rouse, both of Elizabethton; grandchildren, Tracie Stout, Kim Browning, Pepper Dyer, Ginger Glover, Ashley Garland; great-grandchildren, Tiffany Townson, Jonathan Townson, Justin Browning, Austin Dyer, Jessica Browning, and a special great-granddaughter, Haley Glover, whom she raised and loved very much. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

    A service to honor the life of Mrs. Taylor will be conducted on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Steve Burleson and Rev. Bill Greer officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 11:00 AM– Noon on Wednesday prior to the service, or at the home of her daughter, Barbara Sams at other times.

    The Committal and Entombment will follow the funeral service in the Mausoleum of Faith, Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Daniel Garland, Heath Browning, Justin Browning, David Dyer, Austin Dyer, Larry Absher, Aaron Potter and Mark Burke.

    Pauline married Aaron Floyd Taylor about 1961 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Aaron (son of Jess T. Taylor and Maggie K.     Goldia was a com-pas-sion-ate and lov-ing wife, mother and grand-mother. She was a Carter County na-tive and grad-u-ate of Eliz-a-beth-ton High School. She was a found-ing mem-ber of Park-way Bap-tist Church in Bris-tol, TN.
    She was al-ways will-ing to help and give to all in need. Goldia has been known to open her heart and her home to fam-ily and friends of her chil-dren. She loved all equally. She was a true and hon-est busi-ness woman al-ways fight-ing for and put-ting her cli-ents first. She was in real es-tate for 31 years and with Realty Ex-ec-u-tives for the last 14 years. She was a mem-ber of The Na-tional As-so-ci-a-tion of Real-tors. Goldia will truly be missed.

    BRISTOL - Sherry Ann Montgomery, 75 of Bristol, TN graduated this life to eternal life April 6, 2022. She was the wife of Dr. Gary Montgomery Sr. and served as First Lady of Parkway Baptist Church for 27 years. Sherry was a 1964 graduate of Elizabethton High School and earned her Master’s Degree at “Ecneirepxe” University. She was employed by Bristol Tennessee School System for a number of years.
    She is survived by 3 sons, Gary Jr. (Heather), Micah (Callie) and Jared (Ashley); four grandsons, Christian (Meredith). Mason, Jaxson and Augustus and 3 great-granddaughters Celie Belle, Harper Claire and Finley Laine and one sister Carolyn Janette Buck of Livingston, TX.
    Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, Clay and Georgia Buckles; one sister Goldia Sommers, and one brother Sonny Buckles.
    Sherry had a servant’s heart. She was selfless always putting others needs over her own. Her love and passion for her family was second to none. She loved doting on her grandsons and precious great-granddaughters and so many others she took under her wing over the years. She will be fondly remembered for her encouraging words of “Can’t never could!” warning statements of “Wait till your Daddy comes home” and final sentiments “I Love you BIG!”
    Receiving of Friends will be Sunday, April 17, 2022 from 4 until 6 p.m. at Parkway Baptist Worship Center with Funeral Service to follow officiated by Rodney Fields, Donnie Humphries, Craig Johnson and Dr. Gary Montgomery, Sr.
