    Chandler Strauss Morley, age 88, of Limestone, TN, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2011, in the John M. Reed Nursing Home.

    He was a native of Butler, Tennessee, but resided in Johnson City since 1948.

    Mr. Morley was born in Carter County, Tennessee, a son of the late Ernest P. Morley and Nellie Campbell Morley. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in World War II. He retired from First Peoples Bank and was a member of First Methodist Church of Johnson City.

    In addition to his parents, Mr. Morley was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Blevins Morley; and two sisters, Trula Archer and Vera Hale.

    He is survived by one brother, Kay Morley and wife, Nancy, of Limestone, TN; two sisters, June Higgins and husband, E.J., of Jonesborough, TN, and Bonnie Schenkl and husband, Alfred, of Florence, S.C.; two brother-in-laws, Clayton Hale and Edsel Blevins and wife, Louise; and several nieces and nephews.

    Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2011, in the Monte Vista Memorial Park with Rev. Garland Thayer officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the Boone Dam VFW Post #4933 and members of the Tennessee Army National Guard.

    The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff and employees of John M. Reed Nursing Home, Limestone, TN, and to the Amedisys Hospice.

    LIMESTONE - Mr. Kay Morley, age 84, Limestone, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at his residence.

    Mr. Morley was born in Carter County and the son of the late Ernest P. & Nell Campbell Morley. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Chandler Stauss Morley and two sisters, Trula Archer and Vera Hale.

    Mr. Morley was a member of Albright United Methodist Church.

    He was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a Supervisor for Thomas Industries and E.Z. Painter. He was a member of the Limestone Ruritan.

    Survivors include his wife, Nancy Luster Morley, Limestone; two sisters, June Higgins, Jonesborough and Bonnie Schenkl, Florence, SC; and several nephews and nieces.

    The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Ballad Healthcare and Hospice, Indian

    Path Outpatient Radiology, Gastroenterologist of Johnson City and First Choice Family Medicine for their wonderful loving care.

    The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 pm Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.

    Graveside services will be conducted 10:45 am Monday, December 31, 2108 at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Roy Fowler officiating. Military honors will be provided by Carter County Honor Guard.
