    Jesse Clinton Cable, age 75 of Butler, TN, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020 at his home. Jesse was born on November 4, 1944 to the late Coy Cable and Mae Stout Cable in Carter County, TN. In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Cable and wife Sharon, Clinton Cable, David Cable all of who were involved in a fatal car accident in 1987. He was also preceded in death by his daughter in law, Kathy Cable and granddaughter, Renee Shore.

    Jesse was a veteran of the United States Army. He was also in the restaurant business for many years running the Elk Mills Restaurant. He had a passion for gardening and especially raising beans. Through his life, Jesse made many friends and will be dearly missed by all. He was member of the Stout Hill Church of Christ.

    Jesse is survived by his wife of 56 years, Evelyn Potter Cable; daughter, Janet Dugger and husband Brad of Hampton, TN; son, Jeffrey Cable of Hartselle, AL; sister, Cathy Richards of Butler, TN; brother, Kenneth Cable and wife Cindy of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Audra Gill, Austin Clawson, Jonathan Shore; great grandchildren, Harley Mann, Jessie Myers, Loyd Meyers III, Jared Miller, Jessie Miller, and Jonathan Miller.

    The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2020 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Ministers Donnie Cable and Ray Greene officiating. The graveside service and burial will immediately follow the funeral at Sugar Grove Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Austin Clawson, Brad Dugger, Jerry Gill, Jerad Miller, Jonathan Shore, and Jonathan Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Hamad Khan, Dr. Raina Sluder, all friends and extended family. Military honors will be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard.

    Coy Clinton Guy, 77, of Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at his residence.
    A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Charlie and Hazel Cable Guy.
    Mr. Guy retired as a forklift operator at McCloud Lumber Company. He was a member and Deacon of God's House Full Gospel Church. Coy loved gospel music, playing the guitar and singing.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his second wife, Annie Pearl Thomas Guy; two sons, Jamie and Wade Guy; a step-daughter, Melinda Thomas; and a sister, Cleo Clawson.
    Survivors include his wife, Shirley Oaks Guy; three sons, Leon Guy and wife Sheila, Rev. Matthew Guy and wife Gloria, Roan Mountain, and Daniel Thomas, Elizabethton; five daughters, Rachel Highsmith and husband Bill, Teresa McGuire and husband Scott and Michelle Triplett and husband Jackie, all of Roan Mountain, Angela Keiker and husband Shawn, Telford, and Lori Guy, Elizabethton; his step-children, Pam Stout and husband Jerry, Donna Goff, Johnny Oaks and wife Teresa, Sam Oaks and wife Darlene, Debbie Potter and husband Ronnie, Maratha Thomas, Richard Thomas, Raymond Thomas and David Thomas; three sisters, Elsie Oxendine, Joann Trivette and husband Allen and Shirley Morgan and husband Leslie; one brother, Benny Guy; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children, Lena Ward.
    Funeral services for Coy Clinton Guy will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 7, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Davis officiating. Music will be provided by Patsy and Joe Trivette, the Rev. Jerry Davis, Lynne and Carolyn Bennett. The graveside service and interment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, in the Cable Cemetery, Butler. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, will be Mark Clawson, Leslie Morgan, Benny Guy, Michael Guy, Daniel Thomas and Scott McGuire. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and his church family.

    JoAnn Guy Trivette, 69, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to join her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, June 20, 2019, from Sycamore Shoals Hospital. JoAnn was born in Butler, Tenn., to the late Charlie and Hazel Cable Guy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a beloved granddaughter, Bethany Holder; two great-granddaughters, Sidney Harrell and Christie White; two dear sisters, Cleo Guy and Elsie Oxendine; and a dear brother, Coy Guy.
    JoAnn had the biggest heart and her humble nature will live on in memory by those who met her. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed dearly. JoAnn was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church in the Buntontown Community. She loved fishing and being outside, but most especially she loved seeing and spending time with her family and singing.
    Those left to cherish her memory include her loving and devoted husband of 53 years, Allen Trivette, of the home; five wonderful daughters, Tina Wyatt and husband Ray, Joy Trivette, Dee Dee Trivette, Jeannie Holder and husband Kevin and Patty Holder and husband Gary, all of Elizabethton; her dear sister, Shirley Morgan and husband Leslie of Butler; her brother, Benny Guy and wife Patricia of Concord, N.C.; three sisters-in-law, Mildred Sobotka and husband Dan of Kingsport, Joyce Mandler and husband John of Alabama and Mary Sizemore and husband Bruce of Virginia; and her beloved grandchildren, Brittney Harrell, Dustin and Dakota Wyatt, Chanea, Mirissia and Joseph Orndorff, Anna Smith, Rebecca Blevins, Andrew and Bradley White and Brady and Alex Holder. Several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
    A service to celebrate the life of JoAnn Guy Trivette will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 23, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Charlie Trivette and Pastor Matthew Guy officiating. Music will be under the direction of Lowell and Glenda Trivette. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. The graveside service will be conducted at noon Monday, June 24, in the Whitehead Cemetery, Cable Hollow Road, Butler, Tenn. Active pallbearers will be Dustin Wyatt, Dakota Wyatt, Brady Holder, Alex Holder, Andrew White and Joseph Orndorff. Bradley White will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
