Jefferson City- Mary Lee Stout Vaughn, age 87 of Jefferson City, Tn, previously of Gray, Tn, native of Johnson County, passed away October 18, 2017.
Preceded in death by husband,James R. Vaughn, Sr, son Johnny L Vaughn and grandson, Dallas R. Vaughn. Daughter of Mr/Mrs B C Stout Sr., of Johnson County.
Survived by son, James R Vaughn Jr & wife Martha of Florida, sister Betty Lou Cornett of North Carolina, 3 brothers, Fred Stout of Texas, Jack Stout of Kentucky and BC Stout Jr of Johnson County. Grandchildren, Sarah (David) Vaughn Allen of Talbott, Tn and Joshua Vaughn of Morristown, Tn. Great grandchildren, Katie, Hailey, Baileigh, Michael, Adam, Will and Angel Allen, Hayden Vaughn, Ericka Blackburn, Kendra and Jeffery Vaughn. Great -great grandchildren, Evan Hutchinson and Aleirah Vaughn. Mary also had many special nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to nurses, staff and friends at Signature Living, Jefferson City, TN and hospice nurse, Michelle Brady.

The family will be receiving friends from 5-6 pm Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with service to follow at 6 pm, officiating is Reverend Ron Drake.

Graveside service will be at 11 am Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Sunset Memorial Park.

Betty Lou Stout Cornett, 84 (Mimi to family and close friends), of Southern Pines, North Carolina, passed away on November 17, 2017 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Mimi was born January 19, 1933 in Mountain City, Tennessee to the late B.C. and Donnie Stout. She truly loved her family, and especially her great grandchildren. She always loved doing things for others and never wanted anything in return for herself; she enjoyed cooking and was an avid reader.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ambrose Cornett, and one sister, Mary Lee Vaughn.
She is survived by two children, Kathryn Cornett-Ulrich (Harry) and Sandra Corbetto-Cornett (Eduardo); four grandchildren, Matthew and Daniel Bower, Giovanni Corbetto and Chiara Cates (Corbetto); in addition, she is survived by five great grandchildren, Jackson, Kairi, Sebastian, Nicolas and Micaela. She is also survived by beloved brothers Fred, Jack, and B.C. Stout and their children.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 3:00PM at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.

MOUNTAIN CITY - Mary Arney Jeter, age 81, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away at her home on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 following an extended illness.

She was born in Neva, TN to the late Kermit Arney and Una Dugger Arney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Wayne Arney; brothers-in-law, Steve Robbins and Jerry Dugger.

Mary was a member of Vaughts Gap Baptist Church. She loved her family, church family and community and was always willing to help others. Her passion was being outside working in her garden. She was a wonderful cook and loved cooking for her family and neighbors. Mary was a graduate of ETSU where she graduated with a degree in education. She loved children and taught Kindergarten for 15 years.

Mary was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother and will be truly missed.

Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of 59 ½ years, Nelson Jeter; sons, Nelson Jeter Jr., and Nathan Jeter and wife Robin; grandchildren, Kathryn Jeter and Joshua Jeter; sister, Martha Dugger (and the late Jerry), Belle Cable and husband Ellis and Ruth Robbins (and the late Steve); brother, Glenn Arney and wife Elena; sister-in-law, Ida Lee Arney (and the late Wayne); several nieces and nephews and her church family.

The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the Vaughts Gap Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow with Pastor Chuck Morefield officiating. Graveside service and interment will follow at the Mast Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nathan Jeter, Joshua Jeter, Dwayne Arney, Ellis Cable, Dillion McQueen and Danny Eller.
