    Notes:

    ELIZABETHTON — Mrs. Emma C. Johnson, age 87, of Elizabethton, died Monday, February 20, 2012, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home.

    A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Frank and Sally Pierce White. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and she was of the Church of Christ faith.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Daniel Johnson; a grandson, Thomas Hovatter; two sisters, Mabel Matthew and Christine McKinney; and a brother, Edward White.

    Survivors include two daughters, Faye Shull and husband, Phil, Hampton, and Judi Hovatter and husband, Roy James, Jonesborough; two grandchildren, Lisa Shull and Lori Mowdy and husband, Sankler; a brother, Verlin "Brown" White, Elizabethton; and two special nephews, Steve Wallace, Butler, and Doug Hicks, North Carolina. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.

    Graveside service for Mrs. Emma C. Johnson will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 24, 2012, in Lakeview Cemetery, Carter County, TN, with Rev. Gary Pate officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those attending the graveside service will meet at the cemetery at 10:55 A.M. on Friday.

    The family will receive friends at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services on Thursday, February 23, 2012, from 5:00-7:00 P.M.

    Emma married James Daniel Johnson about 1945 in Carter County, , , Tennessee.     Notes:

    Verlin "Vern" White, 86, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Hillview Health Center. A native of Elizabethton, he was the son of the late Joseph Frank and Sallie Pierce White.
    Mr. White retired as a plant engineer. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Garrettsville Masonic Lodge #246 in Garrettsville, Ohio, and the Jericho Temple #180 of Kingsport where he loved working for children. He also was an officer in the Legion of Honor in Kingsport and a member of the Jesters.
    Mr. White enjoyed golfing and working on cars.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy J. Elgin White; three sisters, Christine McKinney, Emma Johnson and Mable Matthews; and a brother, Ed White.
    Those left to cherish his memory include a son, Steven L. White and Linda Troyer, Garrettsville, Ohio; special friend, Jean Lowe, of the home; a grandson and sidekick, Caleb Richardson, of the home; nephews, Doug Hicks, Norwood, N.C., Steven Wallace, Butler, Tenn., and Hillary Wallace, Mountain City, Tenn.; and a great-niece, Lisa Blevins, Elizabethton, Tenn.
    A Gathering of Remembrance to honor the life of Verlin "Vern" White will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 28, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Shriner Chaplain Todd Monroe officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service. The committal service will be held at a later date in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna, Ohio.

    Verlin married Nancy J. Elgin on 23 Nov 1957 in Trumbull County, , , Ohio. Nancy (daughter of Otto Donald Elgin and Edith Pauline Long) was born on 12 Jul 1939 in Portage County, , , Ohio; died on 6 Jan 2000 in Portage County, , , Ohio; was buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, , Portage County, Ohio.     HAMPTON - Mrs. Faye L. Shull, age 72, of Hampton, TN went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at her residence.

    She was the daughter of the late James Daniel and Emma White Johnson. Faye was a homemaker and she attended the Hampton Church of God. She enjoyed going to yard sales and quilting.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Philip E. Shull and a sister, Judi Hovatter. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and David Blevins, Elizabethton, TN and her grand-dog, Lowla.

    A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Faye L. Shull will be conducted at 7:00 P.M, Wednesday, April 4, 2018 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Hobart Bradshaw and Rev. Frank Osborne officiating. Music will be the direction of Debbie Bailey. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service or at the residence of her daughter at any time.

    Graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 6, 2018 in the Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery.

    Faye married Philip Eugene Shull about 1960 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Philip (son of Joseph Carluss Shull and Living) was born on 11 Feb 1936 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died on 3 May 2016 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery, , Carter County, Tennessee.
