    R.D. Campbell, age 90 of 821 R.D. Campbell Road, Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday December 19, 2013, at the Life Care Center of Elizabethton, Tennessee. R.D. was born on May 26, 1923, to Burson Campbell and Arizona Smith Campbell in Doeville, Tennessee. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife: Wilma Stansberry Campbell; as well as three sisters: Lena Arnold, Laura Fritts and Ena Elliott; a brother, Guy Campbell; and a great great grandchild, Tracy Potter. He was a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church, where he held the titles of Deacon, Choir Director, Church Clerk, Church Treasurer, Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher as well as Vacation Bible School Director and Teacher. He graduated from Watauga Academy in Old Butler in 1943. R.D. was a member of the Jericho Shrine Temple in Kingsport, TN, and the Johnson County Shrine Club and was a member of the Roan Creek Masonic Lodge #679 for 64 years. Mr. Campbell taught in the Johnson County School System for over 31 years at various schools and was a principal and teacher for more than 23 years. He held several County positions in Johnson County including, Justice of the Peace, County Court Magistrate for 18 years, Chairman and Vice Chairman of the County Court, County Executive, Probate Judge and Juvenile Judge. He was a member of the board of director's first Tennessee/Virginia development board, where he was chairman 5 years and vice chairman 1 year and on the Upper East Tennessee Human Development Agency for 15 years. He was on the Tri State Grower's board of directors for 33 years. Survivors include; Daughter, Maxine Carter and husband, Ken, Kingsport, TN; Son, Dean Campbell and Wife, Jean, Butler, TN; Grandchildren, Beverly Potter and husband, Jr., LaPlata, Md., Herman Dean (Buzz) Campbell and wife, Linda, Mountain City, TN, Renee Cook and Husband, Russell, Braselton, Ga.; Great Grandchildren, Elizabeth Miller and Husband, Shane, Johnson City, TN, Tabitha and William Potter, of LaPlata, MD, Cheyenne Campbell, Mountain City, TN, Reagan and Camden Cook, Braselton, GA; Great Grandchild, Ryanne Miller, Johnson City, TN; Special friends, George Walker, Jim Hutchinson and Wanda Casteel. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services for R.D. Campbell will be conducted on Saturday December 21, 2013, at 8 p.m. in the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of the Hux Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Wilson and Rev. Roy Wilson to officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Pallbearers will be: All Masons of all Lodges. Honorary Pallbearers are: Bob Graybeal, Bill Murphy, Bob Regan, Dr. Don Tarr, Dr. Raina Sluder, Dr. Martin Tran and Employees of Life Care Center of Elizabethton, TN. Masonic graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2013, in the Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

    Dean Campbell age 69, of RD Campbell Road passed away unexpectedly March 7, 2018. He was born on August 22nd, 1948 to the late R.D. Campbell and Wilma Stansberry Campbell.In addition to his parents he was preceded by a grandchild, Tracy Potter. He enjoyed watching Nascar, Tennessee Volunteers football, and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He was caretaker of the Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery for many years as well as a deacon and Sunday school super attendant. He was a member of the Roan Creek Masonic Lodge 679 F & AM, the Johnson County Shrine Club and the Jerico Temple. He was instrumental in the operation of the Johnson County Masonic Shoe Program. He was District Deputy Chairman for District 24 of Grand Lodge F & AM of Tennessee.

    Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years Jean Lunceford Campbell, his daughter Beverly Potter of La Plata, MD. His son Buzz Campbell of Butler. His sister Maxine Carter of Atlanta, GA. His four grandchildren Elizabeth Miller, Tabitha Potter, Cheyenne Campbell, and William Potter. His two great grandchildren Ryanne Miller and Charleigh Miller. Along with several nieces and nephews.
