    ELIZABETHTON — It is with God's peace that we announce the soul of Ralph Howard Fletcher, 86, of Elizabethton, went to join his Lord on Sunday, April 4, 2010, at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida, with his family by his side.

    Mr. Fletcher was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Andrew J. and Mary Nave Fletcher. In addition to his parents, Ralph has now joined his three brothers and two sisters in heaven.

    He was a 1942 graduate of Unaka High School, worked for 23 years and retired from ITT Corporation.

    Ralph was known for his faithfulness and the loyalty he gave not only to his family but also extended to his friends and business associates.

    Mr. Fletcher belonged to the following organizations: Member and Past Master of Dashiell Masonic Lodge #622, Past High Priest of R.D. Keller Chapter #214, Past Illustrious Master of B.E. Wooten Council #119 and Carter Commandery #37, Charter Member of Jericho Shrine Temple, 32nd Degree of Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Knoxville, Past President of Upper East Tennessee York Rite Association, Illustrious Grand Master of Grand Council of Cryptic Masons of Tennessee, Member of Knight Cross of Honor, received Order of the Purple Cross, Member and Past Worthy Patron of Sycamore Chapter #163 Order of Eastern Star and member of Grand Chapter of Tennessee Order of Eastern Star, Member and Past Governor of North East Tennessee York Rite College #153, Member Red Cross of Constantine and The Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priest.

    He was also a member and former Deacon of Oak Street Baptist Church.

    Ralph leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 63 years, Virginia Davis Fletcher; one daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Joe Reed, one granddaughter, Dena Michelle Richardson, all of Daytona Beach, Florida; two special nieces and caretakers, Angela Richardson and Diana Wright, both of Elizabethton. Several other nieces and nephews survive.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Hendrich officiating.

    Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park.     ELIZABETHTON — Ruth M. Wilson, 85, Elizabethton, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at her residence following an extended illness.

    A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Ora & Sallie Buckles Nave. Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker and a former Cook at Unaka High School. She loved cooking for her family and working in her flowers. She was a member of Stoney Creek Baptist Church.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ora Dale Wilson; three brothers, Snyder, Ray & Arthur Nave; and three sisters, Ailene Nave, Juanita Fair; an infant sister; and Rosa.

    Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Conway "JC" Wilson; her children, Kennetha Marshall, Johnson City and Gary (Sharon) Wilson, Kingsport; three grandchildren, Kimberly Buck, Ericka Marshall and Kasey Duncan; three great grandchildren, Chase Buck, Kaelyn Duncan and Keaton Duncan; one sister, Phyllis Gouge, Johnson City; several nieces & nephews; special "sister" Geraldine Grindstaff; and special "cousin" Charlotte Farrington.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Nathan Jennings officiating.     JOHNSON CITY - Phyllis Marie Gouge, age 85, of Johnson City, Tennessee went home to be with her Lord on Monday, November 1, 2021 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Phyllis was born in Carter County to the late Ora Gay Nave and Sarah Buckles Nave. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
    To know her was to know love, compassion, and the most tender heart. She was without a doubt the sweetest, most precious soul we have ever known and had a smile that would light up a room. She closed her eyes on her earthly home and opened her eyes to see the face of GOD in her eternal home. Although she will be terribly missed, we have comfort in knowing she is at rest and at the feet of Jesus.
    Phyllis retired from Johnson City Medical Center as a dietary aide and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved to sing in the choir, shopping, going out to eat, reading her bible, and crocheting in her younger years.
    Those left to cherish Phyllis’s memories include her husband of sixty-nine years, Kyle Gouge of the home; three children, Debbie Teague, Lois Hyder (Clifford) and Jeffrey Gouge; her grandchildren, Melanie Williams, Michele Robitaille (Mike), Ronnie Wilson and Amy Henegar; her great grandchildren, Mason Williams, Caitlyn Wilson, Chandler Williams, Adrienne Henegar, Marcus Robitaille, Ethan Robitaille, Autumn Henegar, Cassidy Wilson and Kelsie Robitaille. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    A service to celebrate the life of Phyllis Marie Gouge will be conducted at 11:30 AM on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. There will be an open visitation from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM on Thursday prior to the service.

    Beulah Hardin Bowers, 96, of Elizabethton, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning at home on July 2nd following an extended illness.
    She was the daughter of the late Sallie and George Butler Hardin and was born in Carter County on April 14, 1917. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Crawford Leslie Bowers; as well as brothers, Ottie Hardin, Luther Hardin and Cecil Hardin; and a sister, Dorothy Heaton; and a grandson, Lewis Bowers.
    She is survived by a daughter, Sara, of Elizabethton; and a son, Steven, of Elizabethton and his wife, Jennifer. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Kaylee and Drew Bowers, of Elizabethton, and Matthew Bowers, of West Lafayette, Indiana. A large number of nieces and nephews also survive.
    She will be remembered for her cheerful, positive attitude and her zest for life. She and her husband, Crawford, were the original owners of Bowers Florist in Elizabethton and as a florist she enjoyed providing floral services for the community for decades. She was a member of the Highland Arrangers Garden Club and was a lifetime member of the Tennessee Federation of Garden Clubs.
    Mrs. Bowers was a lifelong member of the Siam Baptist Church and was active in various capacities at the church over the years.
    Beulah's other interests included cooking and entertaining her friends and family. She always had a smile and encouraging words for everyone. She found beauty in everything and always looked for the best in everyone.
    The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to her friends and caregivers: Jewel Blevins, Shellie Davis, Tabitha McGill, Evelyn Blevins, Jo Anne Smith, Jennifer Lunceford, Anita West and Denise Plank for their loving devotion, friendship and the gentle care they provided for her over the past years.
    A Celebration Of Life Service for Mrs. Bowers will be conducted at 6:00 PM Friday, July 5, 2013, at the Siam Baptist Church in Elizabethton with the Reverend Jack Roddy officiating. Special Music by Susan Heaton.
    The family will receive friends at the church from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM prior to the service and at her home at other times.
    A sunset interment at the Nave Cemetery in Siam will occur after the service. Mary was born in Hampton, Tenn., to the late Dr. Joseph Alexander Hardin and Dorothy McAnich Pierce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Hardin. Mary was a United States Army veteran and of the Christian faith. She was a talented seamstress and also enjoyed crocheting, fishing, camping and riding motorcycles. Those left to cherish Mary’s memory include her son, Eric (April) Mohler of Elizabethton, and several nieces and nephews.     JOHNSON CITY - Peggy Ann Hughes, age 90, of Johnson City, Tennessee went home to be with her Lord on Monday, October 4, 2021 at the Ivy Hall Nursing Home in Elizabethton surrounded by her loving family. Peggy was born in Elizabethton to the late Henry Eugene Nave and Hattie Mae Gouge Nave. In addition to her parents, Peggy was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert William “Bill” Hughes; her sister, Hildred LaPorte; and two brothers, Leslie H. Nave and Harry K. Nave.Peggy had worked at Massengills of Johnson City and was a member of First Christian Church of Johnson City. She was a former member of the Johnson City Women’s Club, a former member of the Tuesday Bridge Club and was called to substitute for many differed bridge groups. Peggy loved to play bridge and did so well into her late 80s (almost 90) and was considered to be a very good player! She also enjoyed UT football games with her husband in their UT van, sewing in her younger years and Gatlinburg trips with her husband.
    Those left behind to love and cherish Peggy’s memory include her daughter, Patricia Ann Meyers and husband Gary of Kentucky; her son, Robert Hughes and wife Donna of Johnson City, TN; her grandchildren, Billy Meyers and wife Alynia of Kentucky, Tony Hughes and wife Amanda of Georgia, and Tiffany Willis of Johnson City; five great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Carolyn Nagle of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her daughter, Melinda Templeton and husband Scott of Piney Flats, TN and grandchildren, Lauren Kozik and husband Ray of South Carolina and Candice Templeton of Tennessee.

    It is with great grief that we mourn the departure of a precious, very much-loved Daddy, Husband, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Brother in love, and Friend, Russell Peters, who, at 85, finished his earthly journey and entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. We are devastated by his loss, but we remain with the spiritual values he instilled in us and will forever cherish every day that we had as his beloved family, forever grateful to God for this precious gift. He was the son of the late Clarence M. and Dora Fletcher Peters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and their spouses: Jack and Helen Fletcher, Bynum and Lena Peters, and Willard and Joan Peters. Russell was a member of Willow Springs Baptist Church and had done various church work over the years. He was a veteran, having served in the National Guard and Army Reserve. Most of his work years were with East Tennessee Chair Company as a band saw operator, who took pride and care in his part of producing beautiful pieces for various chairs. He also worked at NAR and then retired from Blue Ridge Fabricators. He was still an avid go-getter and worked hard, putting his family first with his remaining abilities up to the two weeks preceding his departure. He was at one time an avid gardener, fisherman, hunter-gatherer, wood artist, and enjoyed the mountains and beauty of God’s creation. Those left to cherish his memories and legacy are his beloved, devoted wife of 55 years, Bonnie Peters and cherished daughter, Jill Peters, along with her significant other Tom Davis, two beloved brothers, Norman Peters, Roscoe and Lynetta Peters, two beloved sisters Joyce Grindstaff and Jeanette Bowers, two Brothers and three sisters in love, Charlie(Tom) and Linda Williams, Marvin Williams, Cora Beaumont, and Brenda Riddle, along with treasured nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends, as well as many spiritual brothers and sisters. An open visitation for Russell will be held Monday, May 22, 2023, between the hours of 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. The graveside service and committal will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, in the Wilson Cemetery with Dr. Kenneth Jordan officiating. Pallbearers are Eric Grindstaff, Capt.     Willard Peters, 81, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with his Lord on Monday, July 5, 2021, from Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. He was born on January 19, 1940 to the late Clarence Millard Peters and Dora Belle Fletcher Peters.
    Willard was employed by Summers-Taylor, where he retired. He was a member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church. Willard was loved by everyone that had the joy of knowing him. He will be terribly missed by many. After he retired, Willard went back to get his GED. He also served as a volunteer firefighter.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 37 years, Joann F. Peters; an infant sister; his brothers, Jack Fletcher and wife Helen and Bynum Peters and wife Lena; and his brother-in-law, Landon Grindstaff.
    Those left to cherish his memory include a daughter, Wendy Peters of Elizabethton; a step-son and step-daughter, whom he considered his own, Steve Williams and Linda Birchfield, both of Elizabethton; three granddaughters, Cindy James of Elizabethton, Whitney Vines of Kingsport and Lakisha Vines of Knoxville; two great-granddaughters, Caytlin James and Lakyn James, both of Elizabethton; his brothers, Russell Peters and wife Bonnie, Roscoe Peters and wife Lynetta and Norman Peters, all of Elizabethton; and his sisters, Joyce Grindstaff and Jeanette Bowers, both of Elizabethton.     ELIZABETHTON - Geraldine Hopson Hodge, 82, Elizabethton passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018 at her residence.

    Born September 15, 1935 in Elizabethton to the late Bill & Ailene Nave Hopson. She was a graduate of Unaka High School. Mrs. Hodge was a Certified Nursing Assistant. She retired from Hermitage Nursing Home in 1994. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Hubert Glenn Hodge and a brother: Arlin Hopson.

    Survivors include her children: Steven Hodge (Patty), Elizabethton, Janet Taylor (John) _, Hood River, Oregon and Brian Hodge, Bluff City. Two Sisters: Frances Stout of Chuckey, Tenn., Ruby Vandagriff (Clyde), Elizabethton. Five Grandchildren: Jeremy Hodge, Piney Flats, Andy Taylor (Victoria), Salem Oregon, Josh Taylor (Laurel) Hood River, Oregon, Elizabeth Decker (Kristoff), Fairview , Oregon, and Stephanie Rothell (Marcus), Ankeny, Iowa. Ten Great Grandchildren. A special Aunt & lifetime friend, Phyllis Gouge, Johnson City. Several nieces, nephews & cousins.

    A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jamie Ferguson officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2018 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Patty Hodge.     ELIZABETHTON - Paul Edward Sellers, 87, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital after an extended illness. He was a Carter County native.

    Paul was a 1949 graduate of Elizabethton High School where he was an outstanding Cyclone Basketball Player. He was retired from The Raytheon Corporation, Bristol. Paul was an avid Golfer. He had served on the Board at the Elizabethton Golf Course for a number of years. He was preceded in death by his wife: Charlotte Sellers, his mother: Flossie Hardin Shew, his daughter: Debra Taylor, a son: David Sellers and a brother: Bill Sellers.

    Survivors include his Grandchildren: Jason Paul Taylor & wife Carrie, Dillon Sellers and fiancé Brittany Lawson and Briana Stout & fiancé Zac Cornely all of Elizabethton and four great grandchildren: Michael, Tucker, Waylon & Elaina.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2018 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jack Lyons officiating. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be: Pete Taylor, Wayne Buckles, Robert Holt, Hunter Holt, Ron Rogers and Steve Sellers.     Sandra Ann Treadway Kyte, 80, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Johnson City Medical Center. Sandra was born in Carter County to the late Lawrence E. Treadway and Lavinia Sheffield Treadway. In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Lloyd Kyte.
    Sandra had worked for Inland Container as a payroll clerk and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
    Those left to remember Sandra include her brother, Turby Treadway of Sevierville, Tenn.; her sister-in-law, Brenda Lynn and husband Curtis; her godchildren, Daniel Onks and Ivy Painter; and her cousins, Judy Fleenor, Terri Knapp, Robin Kinley and Dwight Treadway.
    The committal and inurnment service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery.

    Robin is survived by sisters Judith Fleenor, and Terri Knapp and brother Dwight Treadway (Cindy Morrison Treadway), nieces Elecia Hodge Lonon (Scott), Jasmine Treadway (Brooks Price), nephews, William Lynne Hodge (Karen), Nathaniel Treadway (Carrie), Zach Treadway (Kendall), great nieces and nephews, Sarah Lonon, Ben Hodge, Jaxon and Maddux Price, Molly and Raylen Treadway. Extended family: Thiel McCracken, Greg McCracken, Alan McCracken and Turby Treadway, and special friends Marie and Steven May, Phyllis Hughes and those with whom she worked, and numerous Fur babies.

    Robin was preceded in death by her parents, Dwight and Maxine Treadway, and her husband, Chuck Kinley.

    Our beautiful Robin was first and foremost a lover of all that she came into contact with. She was an astute business woman, and a hard worker. Robin lived her life with her hands and heart wide open, willing to give her heart and home to any and all, without measure. She will be remembered for her quick wit, her contagious laughter and her love of God, life and those in her circle. She enjoyed herself in everything she did, always creating joy for others. Robin was blessed with the gift of touching others; she gave even in death as she was an organ donor, always thinking of ways to help improve quality of life for others and creating beauty wherever she went. Robin was a picture of grace, class and beauty.

    A memorial service to celebrate Robin's life will be conducted on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Pastor Andy Blackwelder officiating. Music will be under the direction of Michael Paul Mould.

    Susan Jane Kyte Lowe, 63, a loving mother, sister and aunt of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Beulah "Meme" Robinson Kyte.
    Jane was a homemaker who was the neighborhood Mom to kids. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Elizabethton. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and her animals and she loved Christmas time.
    In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a sister, Puanana Elliott; a step-son, Monty Lowe; and a niece, Victoria "Tora" Orren.
    Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Noah Lowe, and his fiancée and Jane's caregiver, Amanda Wilson, both of Elizabethton; her husband and loving friend, C. Raymond Lowe, Elizabethton; three step-children, Ricky Lowe and wife Tracey, Joey Lowe and wife Lisa and Sonja Holtsclaw and husband Rick, all of Elizabethton; two grandchildren, Kelsey Cullop and Christian Lowe, and several step-grandchildren; and two sisters, Rosalonia Edwards, Elizabethton, and Sharon Fritts of Missouri. Several nieces and nephews, including three special nieces, Tina Garrison, Rosa Colbaugh and Joann Handy, all of Elizabethton, and several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
    A graveside service to honor the life of Susan Jane Kyte Lowe will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, December 29, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Nathan Jennings officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Everyone will meet at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services at 2:15 p.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. Friends may visit the family at the residence at any time. It was Jane's wish that those who choose to send flowers, send only one rose.
