Mrs. Mary Williams, age 70, died Wednesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Bowers on the Siam pike.
Funeral services will be conducted at the East Side Baptist church Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. C. L. Bowden and Rev. Bramlett in charge. Interment will be in the Deloach Cemetery.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. John Bowers; one brother, David Deloach and four grandchildren, all of Elizabethton.
Mrs. Williams was a life-long member of the First Baptist church in this city, serving faithfully until her death.

Mrs. James Deloach, 66, Elizabethton, died at the Shoun hospital yesterday after a short illness.
The deceased is survived by a sister, Mrs. Mary Williams, and a brother, Dave Deloach.
Funeral services will be held at the home of the deceased Monday morning at 10 o'clock with the Reverend E. M. Umbach, Presbyterian church in charge.

Funeral services for Henry Deloach, aged 62, were held from the home of his brother, David Deloach, on the Siam road Sunday morning at 10 a.m. He died early Saturday morning after a short illness.
He is survived by four children, two sisters, and one brother.
The Rev. Hampton C. Hopkins of The East Side Baptist Church was the officiating minister.

Funeral services for Private First Class William T. (Buck) DeLoach, 26, whose body will arrive in Johnson City Saturday at 9:52 a.m., will be conducted at the East Side Baptist Church Sunday at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. Willard Kelly and the Rev. Robert Pettitt officiating. Burial will be in the DeLoach Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Guy, R. L. and James Treadway, Earnest Greenwell, Paul Bowling, Odis Greenwell and Ray Garland.
The Watauga Post Number 49, Carter County American Legion will conduct military services at the cemetery.
Private DeLoach entered service August 17, 1943 and received his base training at Camp Van Doran, Miss. And Camp Kilmore, New Jersey. He was shipped overseas June 20, 1944 and served with Company “C” of the 357th Infantry. He landed in New Burnsville, France in July 1944 and was killed in action October 3, 1944 and was buried in United States Military Cemetery in Andelly, France. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Silver Star. Before entering service he was employed by the Spinning department of the American Bemberg Corporation.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Inez Winders DeLoach of 705 East Maple Street, Johnson City; one son, Gene A. DeLoach of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Paul Grindstaff of Route 1, and Mrs. Lee Bird Mettler of Elizabethton and two brothers, Andy DeLoach of Route 5, and Alford DeLoach of Route 1, Elizabethton.
The body will be taken to the home on 705 East Maple Street in Johnson City Saturday at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Tetrick Funeral Home.

Grady was a painter and carpenter. He loved his grandchildren, going fishing and riding his four-wheeler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Frances Grindstaff Deloach, who died April 19, 2003; a son, Lloyd Keith Deloach; two brothers, Carl and Jack Deloach; and two sisters, Ruby Loveless and Joyce Arnett.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Alfred & Elizabeth Treadway Deloach.

He is also preceded in death by brother, Jack Deloach; and sisters, Ruby Loveless and Joyce Arnett.

Mr. Deloach served in the United States Army as a cook. He was a retired truck driver having retired from Carter Enterprise. Mr. Deloach was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Grindstaff Deloach; a daughter, Kathy Grindstaff; and his special friend and care giver, Joy Peterson; brothers, Grady Deloach and Jim Deloach; sisters, Charlotte Walker, Shirley Smith, Carolyn Jenkins and Judy Blackburn; in-laws, Jack & Josie Shook, Dave & Polly Grindstaff and Elic Grindstaff; several nieces & nephews.

A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late James Alfred and Elizabeth Treadway Deloach.
He was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corp.

Shirley Ann Deloach Smith, 75, Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019, at Signature Healthcare Center following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late James Alfred and Elizabeth Treadway Deloach.
Mrs. Smith was a dedicated and loving mother, a former employee of the American Bemberg Corporation, and was a cashier at Race Way for several years. Shirley loved arts and crafts, making floral designs and home decorations were amongst some of her favorite. She also adored the beach, sunshine, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith and attended as many guest services her health would allow.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack Deloach, Carl Deloach and Grady Deloach, and two sisters, Ruby Loveless and Joyce Arnett.
Survivors include her children, Donna Kay Presnell (Mike Wilhoit) and Ricky Lee Smith, both of Elizabethton, and four grandchildren, Tabitha Dawn Whitlock, Brandy Faith Boles, Amy Elizabeth Huskins and Amber Nichole Presnell. Shirley was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Charlotte Walker of Ohio, Carolyn Jenkins and Judy Blackburn, both of Elizabethton; and one brother, Jimmy Deloach, Elizabethton.

Fred Howard DeLoach, 17, died at his home, Route 1, Wednesday evening at 8:00 o'clock. He has been in poor health since birth.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andy DeLoach; three sisters, Barbara DeLoach, Geraline DeLoach, and Patsy DeLoach, all of the home; two brothers, Harry and Larry DeLoach also of the home; and the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Samantha McConnell of Big Stone Gap, Virginia.
Funeral services will be conducted at the home of an aunt, Mrs. Paul Grindstaff of Route 1, Friday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock with the Rev. Crucy Holder officiating. Burial will be in the DeLoach Cemetery.

Funeral services for Bobbie DeLoach, two-weeks old son of Mr. and Mrs. Buck DeLoach, who died at the home, 613 South Roan, yesterday morning at 10:30, will be conducted from the home this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Rev. Scott Lawson will be in charge. Burial will be made in the family cemetery.

Gene Austin Deloach, 76, Johnson City, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2020, at his home following a long battle with cancer.
Gene was a Carter County native and lived in Johnson City since he was a child. He was a son of the late William Thomas Deloach and Inez Winters Deloach Phillips.
Gene was a 1961 graduate of Science Hill High School and received bachelor degrees from both ETSU and Tusculum College. He was formerly employed with the City of Johnson City as an Assistant Purchasing Director before going to the City of Elizabethton where he developed their first Purchasing Department, later retiring in 2007.
Gene made many close friends while working in both city governments. After retiring, being the social butterfly that he was, took a part-time job at Lowe’s of Elizabethton. Then, after 7 years at Lowe’s he accepted a job at the Johnson City Memorial Community Center.
In addition to his parents, Gene is preceded in death by his step-father, James R. Phillips, Sr.; brother, Jimmy Phillips; sister, Linda Phillips Joiner; father in law and best friend, Sam Street, Jr.; brother in law, Tim S. Street.

ELIZABETHTON - Darrell Wade Woods, age 82, of Elizabethton went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at his home. Wade was born in Carter County, a son of the late John R. Woods and Mary Ann (Treadway) Woods. In addition to his parents, Wade was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Diana Gail Woods; a brother, Glenn H. Woods; and his half-brother, Jerry Woods.

Wade loved his family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with his entire being and they in turn thought the world of him. Wade retired from Nuclear Fuel Services after 35 years of service and was a member of East Side Christian Church where he was also a deacon. Wade loved watching the Lady Vols basketball, Duke and March Madness. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working with his coon dogs- he was a member of Stoney Creek Coon Club. Wade’s favorite country music singer was Loretta Lynn.

Those left to remember Wade and his precious memory include his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Mildred ‘Middy’ Holsclaw Woods of the home; two sons, Tony (Chrissy) Woods and Darrell (Vickie) Woods; two grandsons, Brandon Scott Woods and wife Allie and Nathan Woods; three granddaughters, Summer Diana Woods and her partner, Uhamma Delgado, Alexis Woods Marlowe and husband Tyler and Annie Woods Murray and husband Wesley; his great grandchildren, Hallie Marlowe and one on the way; his nephew, Bradley Woods and wife Amy Woods; a special cousin, Larry Woods and wife Debra; and his special close friends, Leonard Lewis, Sherrill Kyte and Jim May. Several cousins, church family and neighbors also survive.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Wade’s life will be conducted Monday, October 10, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Randall Johnson officiating. Mr. Robert H. "Bob" Bow-ers, 68, of Eliz-a-beth-ton, passed away on Fri-day, June 19, 2015, in the John-son City Med-i-cal Center Hos-pi-tal.
He was the son of the late Wil-liam Har-mon and Mary El-li-ott Bow-ers and was born in Ban-ner Elk, NC. In ad-di-tion to his par-ents, he was pre-ceded in death by a son, Robert Har-mon Bow-ers Jr.; two sis-ters, Carol Ruth Bow-ers and Nancy Reece; and a brother, Johnny Paul Bow-ers.
Mr. Bow-ers was a grad-u-ate of the Eliz-a-beth-ton High School class of 1965. He was in-ter-ested in col-lect-ing an-tiques and he liked to fish. He was a mem-ber of Bible Bap-tist Church.
He is sur-vived by six sis-ters, Sandy Bow-ers, Eliz-a-beth-ton, Faye Dean, Hick-ory, NC, Elsie Hum-phrey, Eliz-a-beth-ton, Mary Rowe, Hick-ory, NC, Joyce Clark, Eliz-a-beth-ton, Cath-ryn Mitch-ell, Eliz-a-beth-ton; a brother, Billy Bow-ers, Hamp-ton; two aunts, Goldie McKin-ney and Gla-dys Pot-ter, both of Roan Moun-tain. Sev-eral nieces, neph-ews and cous-ins also sur-vive.
A grave-side ser-vice for Mr. Bow-ers will be con-ducted on Mon-day, June 22, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Dy-son Grove Ceme-tery in John-son County with Pas-tor Frank Os-borne of-fi-ci-at-ing. Those wish-ing to at-tend are asked to meet the fam-ily at the cem-e-tery at 1:50 PM on Mon-day. Ac-tive pall-bear-ers will be Mat-thew Hin-kle, Justin Bow-ers, Johna-than Cal-houn, David Bow-ers, Dale Mil-liken and Chris Hughes. Honor-ary pall-bear-ers will be his church fam-ily.

ELIZABETHTON — Lloyd Keith Deloach, 42, 111 Chapel Drive, Elizabethton, died Saturday, July 16, 2005, in the Johnson City Medical Center as the result of a motorcycle accident.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of Lloyd G. Deloach, Elizabethton, and the late Frances Marie Grindstaff Deloach, who died on April 19, 2003. He was a graduate of Hampton High School.

Mr. Deloach was an employee of American Water Heater, Johnson City, for the past 10 years. He attended Charity Hill Free Will Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Survivors, in addition to his father, include a son, Michael A. Deloach, Elizabethton; a sister and brother-in-law, Lori Ann and Ronnie Yelton, Elizabethton; a brother and sister-in-law, Jeffery and Maxine Deloach, Elizabethton; five nieces and nephews; two great-nieces; several uncles, aunts and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday in Memorial Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Emert officiating. Graveside services and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2005, in the Deloach Family Cemetery. The Gospel Travelers Trio will provide the music.

Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, will be: Ronnie Yelton, Eddie Baird, Gary Clemons, Wesley Largent, Troy Campbell, Ed Lance, Charles Deloach and Eddie Lance Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be: Robin Loveless, Micky Loveless, Jason Russell, Blaine Hyder, his friends at American Water Heater, friends and neighbors.

JOHNSON CITY - Kevin Glen Carr, 43, Johnson City passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at his residence.

He was born May 27, 1974 in Johnson City. Kevin was a graduate of Happy Valley High School. He was in the Retail Business at the Johnson City Mall. He was a member of the East River Park Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his father: Cecil Carr.

Survivors include his Mother: Patsy Deloach Carr. A sister: Karen Carr. Several aunts, uncles & cousins.
