    Charlotte M. Campbell, 82, formerly of Hampton passed away, Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Waters of Roan Highlands Nursing Home, Roan Mountain. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Hobert & Wildia Ingram Whitehead. She attended Cloudland High School. Charlotte worked many years in food service jobs including both Milligan and East Tennessee State Colleges. She was a member of Rittertown Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond "Fat" Campbell and three brothers: Odell, Paul and Conley Whitehead.

    Survivors include One Son: Rev. Ronnie Campbell & wife Phyllis, Hampton. Her Grandchildren: Jennifer (Chris) Bufford and Amber (Nick) Vines. Her great grandchildren: Tyler & Mariah McQueen and Austin, Aidan & Hadley Vines. Her Brother: Richard Whitehead, Roan Mountain. Her sisters-in-law: Lou & Jackie Whitehead. Several nephews & nieces also survive.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with her son Rev. Ronnie Campbell and Rev. John McCoury officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2016 in the Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday will be: Austin Vines, Aidan Vines, Nick Vines, Bradley Whitehead, R.L. McKinney, John Rainbolt, Lester Rainbolt and Paul Nave. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Tyler McQueen, Robert Whitehead, Clifford Gobble, Ronnie Gobble, Johnny Bradshaw, Kenneth Byrd, Jack Ingram, Tim French, D.L. Stevens, Robert "Bobby" Rainbolt, Jim Matheson, John Matheson, Leonard Buckles, Jerry Buckles, and Dwayne Buckles. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Dr. Vivian Clarke, Betty Lou Campbell (Life Care Center), and the amazing caregivers at the Waters of Roan Highlands Nursing Home with special Thanks to Rev. John McCoury, Nancy & Barbara.

    U.S. Veteran, Sam Whitehead, 80, Roan Mountain, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at his residence.

    A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Hensley and Mary Ann Ingram Whitehead.

    He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

    He was a retired Truck Driver.

    Mr. Whitehead was a member of the Roan Park Baptist Church.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Buster, Bob & George Whitehead and a son-in-law: William Bill Tolley.

    Survivors include his wife of 60 years: Ruby Johnson Whitehead. One Daughter: Rita Tolley and her late husband WilliamTolley, Roan Mountain. Three Sons: Kevin Whitehead, Roan Mountain, Clifford Whitehead and fiancé Judy King, Hampton and Roger Whitehe3ad and wife Margaret, Elizabethton. Two Brothers: Ray Whitehead, Elizabethton and Arnold Whitehead and wife Margaret, Roan Mountain. 5 Granddaughters, One Grandson and 12 Great Grandchildren. Several nieces & nephews including a special niece Robin Whitehead.
    Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dwayne Scbish officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016 in the Johnson-Roan View Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Adam Johnson, Darren Lacy, Andy Stout, Rusty Estep, Jimmy Hill, Brandon Arrowood and Allen Lyons. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to his daughter-in-law, Margaret Whitehead and grandson, Travis Whitehead and Ivy Tester at Mtn. States Hospice. Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Evans, Sam, Ray & Bobby Whitehead.

    Survivors include his wife of 58 years: Margaret Johnson Whitehead, Several nieces & nephews. His special friends: Chad Golden and Glenn Blackburn.

    Graveside Service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2021 in the Johnson Roan View Cemetery with Jonathan Babb officiating. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 3:20 p.m. Thursday will be: Roger Whitehead, Clifford Whitehead, Dusty Woodby, Jonathan Babb. Timothy Horton, Matthew Doyle, Llovd Myers and Travis McKinney.

    ELIZABETHTON - Rosalee Roberson Markland, 84, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Waters of Roan Highland. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Shoun & Blanche Whitehead Roberson. She was a graduate of Cloudland High School. She was a homemaker. Rosalee loved quilting, sewing and sending cards of encouragement. She was one of the founding members of Blevins Chapel. In earlier years she attended Green Mountain Freewill Baptist Church Baptist Church and later attended Grace Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lee Markland, and two sisters: Myrsona Shell and Glenda Shell.
    Survivors include her daughter: Cathy Laura Hyder & husband Samuel, Roan Mountain. One Sister: Donalee Presnell, Roan Mountain.
    Graveside Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, October 10, 2021 in the Lyons Cemetery with Pastor Travis Tyler officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

    ELIZABETHTON - Janet Kay Arnold, age 75, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with her Lord on Monday, October 4, 2021 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Janet was born in Carter County to the late Katherine Ledford Denney. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her beloved cousin, Ulys “Squeaky” Whalen; an uncle, Harry Ledford; and a nephew, James “Jim Bob” Moore.
    Janet was a hardworking, self-less lady that always put the Lord and her family first in her life. She was a cafeteria worker for the Elizabethton School System and a member of Unaka Baptist Church. Janet enjoyed spending time and vacationing with her family. She was always willing to help anyone in need and prided herself as a Grammy, always inviting her children and grandchildren’s friends to her house- they were always welcome.
    Those left to cherish Janet’s memories and love include her husband of 53 years, Rodney Arnold, of the home; three daughters, Tina Sharp and husband Franklin, Erica Arnold King, and Amanda Weatherly and husband Jonathon; one sister, Diane Denney Moore and husband Roger; her grandchildren – who she loved with all her heart- Caleb King and Grace Weatherly; her cousins, Janey Tubbleville, Aileen Pierson, and Ann Whalen; her niece, Ginnie Morris; her special grandson, Ronnie Hall; and many other nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors also survive.
    A service to honor the memory of Janet Kay Arnold will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Friday, October 8, 2021 in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Eric Heaton officiating. A eulogy will be provided by Janet’s brother-in-law, Gary Arnold. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Friday.
    The graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 Am on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Justin Norris, Brad Norris, Ronnie Hall, Harold Lynn Arnold, Wade Arnold and Heath Arnold. Honorary pall bears will be Michael Morris, Jerry Arnold, Eddy Arnold, Gary Arnold, Roger Moore and Tyrone Arnold.
