    C. H. LOWE DIES FROM HEART ATTACK AT LYNN AVE. HOME
    Charles Hector Lowe, age 73, adjuster and real estate clerk for the city of Elizabethton, died unexpectedly at his home on Lynn avenue yesterday afternoon at 5:00 o'clock. He succumbed to a heart attack.
    Mr. Lowe, prominently identified in religious, civic and political affairs in Johnson and Carter counties for a good many years, had been in declining health for the past week. He had sufficiently recovered so as to be able to be in town the day prior to his death.
    Born in Mountain City of pioneer descendants, his family has played an important role in all activities.
    For a number of years, Mr. Lowe was affiliated with the affairs of the city of Elizabethton, serving as desk sergeant at the city hall prior to his becoming tax adjuster.
    The deceased also taught school in Johnson county, Sullivan county and in Texas in his younger days. He received his education at the Watauga Academy at Butler. For 19 years he served as a traveling salesman and later was in the mercantile business in this city.
    He was very active in the First Baptist church of this city, having been affiliated with the church since 1916 and serving as a deacon for the past 20 years.
    Mr. Lowe is survived by his widow, Mrs. Martha A. Lowe, two daughters, Mrs. Charles Caroll of Newcomerstown, Ohio, and Mrs. Daniel Trace of Zanesville, Ohio; three sons, Bert of Radford, Va., Ted of Baltimore, Md., and Charles of Elizabethton; two brothers, J. J. Lowe of Erwin, and Judge David Lowe of Lockney, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. John Reed of Butler, Mrs. Charles Anderson of Elizabethton, and Mrs. David Roten of Lingle, Wyoming; also one grandchild, Charles Lowe, III.
    Funeral services will be conducted from the First Baptist church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with the Rev. V. Floyd Starke, Rev. E. A. Cox and Rev. Roy Grimsly officiating. Burial will be made in the Walsh cemetery in Johnson County.
    The body, which will be removed from the North Funeral Home to the family residence, 413 Lynn avenue, this afternoon at 6:00 o'clock, will lie in state from 1:30 Sunday until time for the funeral.
    Pallbearers: Roscoe Ritchie, Robert Pleasant, William Clark, Carl Roten, Maples Carriger, Stanley Lacy, James Miles and B. W. Birchfiel.
    Honorary pallbearers: Deacons of the First Baptist church and Calvary Baptist church, Police Department and Fire Department, Crawford Alexander, Bob Johnson, Jr., Dr. J. B. Shoun, Dr. W. G. Frost, L. D. Chambers, George Dugger, Samuel Morrell, J. E. Colvin, T. A. Ledford, Frank Dungan, Carl Stout, Sexton Dungan, and Walter Dungan.
    Honorary pallbearers will act as flower-bearers.

    "Red" Lowe Died Last Night In Baltimore
    Word has been received here of the death, last night, of Charles H. "Red" Lowe, Jr., 44, of Baltimore, Md., formerly of Elizabethton.
    Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body will be returned here sometime Sunday.
    He is survived by his wife, the former Zella Estep; his mother, Mrs. C. H. Lowe of Lynn Avenue; one sister, Mrs. Rose Carroll of Newark, Ohio; and two brothers, Ted of Baltimore and Bert of Elizabethton.

    LOWE, Charles, died in Baltimore Saturday, funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. from Roy Hathaway Funeral Home with the Rev. James A. Clark officiating. Burial will be made in family cemetery in Johnson County. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Zela[sic] Estep Lowe; mother, Mrs. C. H. Lowe; one sister, Mrs. Rose Carroll, Newark, Ohio; two brothers, Ted of Baltimore, Bert of Elizabethton. Active pallbearers: M. L. Stout, Eugene Jobe, Fred Ritchie, Sherman Grindstaff, Earl Rambo, John Wade Wilson. The body will be returned to the home of his mother, 413 Lynn Avenue, Monday afternoon at 3 p.m.
