According to information supplied by Marie Senter, Aunt Annie was a milliner and had her shop "uptown" for years. She made and sold hats, trimming them with feathers, flowers, etc.
She rented out rooms in her home. Marie says she was such a good cook and a good manager in those hard times of very little money. She served noonday lunches for her boarders and others. Most of the noonday trade were people she had known for a long time who would call and say, "Can you set another place at noon?".
