    Ivory Hill Lewis, age 88, of Elizabethton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at her residence.

    Ivory was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Dana and Ethel Connie Lacey Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Raymond Keith Lewis, Sr. on December 16, 2007; a daughter, Linda Ivory Ramsey on May 2, 2009; a grandson, Wayne Davis II; a son-in-law, Wayne Davis; a half sister, Sally Pierce; and a half brother, Bill Hill.

    Mrs. Lewis was a homemaker, but along with her husband, had previously owned and operated Lewis' Service Station. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

    Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Davis, of Hampton and Glenna Morton, of Elizabethton; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ray Lewis, Jr. and wife Maxine and "Randy" Lewis and wife Eddie, all of Elizabethton, and Rex Lewis and wife Angela, Johnson City; six grandchildren, Wendi Kasting and husband Chris, Johnson City, John Ramsey, Jr. and wife Christa, Elizabethton, Ronnie Heaton, Jr. and wife Felicia, Elizabethton, Summer Morton, Ria Davis and Jessica Lindsey, all of Johnson City; ten great grandchildren; three half sisters, Mary Shultz and husband Bill, Lenoir City, Susie Moody and husband Bob, Butler, and Jane Lyons, Elizabethton; and two half brothers, Herman Hill and wife Kay, and Johnny Hill and wife Freda, all of Hampton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

    A graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Ivory Hill Lewis will be conducted at 2:30 PM on Friday, February 6, 2015 in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Hampton, Tennessee, with Rev. Danny Bright, officiating. Active pallbearers will be John Ramsey, Jr., Ronnie Heaton, Jr., Chris Kasting, John Evan Ramsey, Ronald Ritchie, Daniel Lewis, Karl Grindstaff, Bill Shoun and Bobby Glover.

    Ivory married Raymond Kenneth Lewis about 1945 in Carter County, , , Tennessee.     Her-man Hill, age 78, of Hamp-ton, passed away on Tues-day, May 12, 2015, at the John-son City Med-i-cal Center.
    Her-man was a na-tive of Carter County and was a son of the late Dana and Retta Collins Hill. In ad-di-tion to his par-ents, he was pre-ceded in death by a brother, Bill Hill; three sis-ters, Sally Pierce, Ivory Lewis and Mil-dred Hill; and two neph-ews, Neil Moody and Robert Stoc-ton.
    Mr. Hill re-tired from High-way's In-cor-po-rated, where he held var-i-ous man-age-ment roles. He was of the Free Will Bap-tist faith and en-joyed gar-den-ing. He was an ex-pert in lo-cal his-tory and en-joyed ge-ne-al-ogy. Her-man was a very giv-ing and self-less per-son, his great-est joy was spend-ing time with his grand-chil-dren.
    Sur-vi-vors in-clude his wife, Kay Peters Hill, of the home; and daugh-ters, Deb-bie Jones and hus-band, Tony, Pitts-boro, North Car-o-lina, Valarie Smith, Uni-coi, TN, and Kathy Leo-nard, John-son City; two grand-chil-dren, An-drew Jones and Alli-son Jones, both of Pitts-boro, NC; one brother, John Hill and wife, Freda, Hamp-ton; three sis-ters, Jane Lyons, Eliz-a-beth-ton, Mary Shultz and hus-band, Bill, Le-noir City, TN, and Susie Moody and hus-band Bob, But-ler, TN; a brother-in-law, Char-lie Peters and wife, Missy, Uni-coi; two sis-ters-in-law, Pat Stoc-ton, Char-lotte, NC, and Jane Rain-bolt and hus-band, Ken, Hamp-ton. Sev-eral nieces, neph-ews, great nieces and great neph-ews also sur-vive.
    A cel-e-bra-tion of life grave-side ser-vice for Mr. Her-man Hill will be con-ducted at 3:30 PM on Satur-day, May 16, 2015, in the John White-head Ceme-tery with Rev. David Mont-gom-ery, of-fi-ci-at-ing. Mu-sic will be un-der the di-rec-tion of Alan Foster. Ac-tive pall-bear-ers will be George Collins, George Rober-son, Frank Cates, Ray Lewis Jr., Randy Lewis, Jackie Peters, Ken-neth Rain-bolt and Irby Jones. Honor-ary pall-bear-ers will be for-mer em-ploy-ees and friends of High-way's Inc., Jimmy Jones, Kenny Ed-ding-ton, Lewis White-head, R.C.     Mary Evelyn Hill Shultz "Pood," 73, of Lenoir City, Tenn., passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019, after a three year battle with cancer. Mary was born in Banner Elk, N.C., on November 6, 1946 to the late Retta Collins Hill and Dana Hill. Mary was predeceased by her two brothers, Herman Hill and Bill Hill; sister, Sallie Hill Pierce; two half sisters, Mildred Hill and Ivory Lewis; and nephew, Robert Neil Moody.
    Mary grew up in Hampton, Tenn., and graduated from Hampton High School. She married her husband, W.H. Shultz Jr. "Bill," on October 6, 1966. They had recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. Mary lived in Elizabethton, Tenn., with her husband and children for over 25 years. During that time she worked at East Tennessee Undergarment. In 1990, Mary and Bill moved to Lenoir City, Tenn., where she took a job with TRW Koyo in Vonore, Tenn. She worked there until her retirement in 1995.
    Mary's retirement years were spent loving on her family. She was a wonderful cook, loved vacations on the sandy Gulf Coast beaches and enjoyed every moment she could with her husband, children and grandchildren. Their activities and being "mamaw" gave her so much pride and joy. She was a selfless woman who never met a stranger and loved doing things for others.
    Left to cherish her memory are her husband Bill; her daughter, Cynthia Shultz Noles (Bruce); her son, W.H. Shultz III "Billy"; and grandchildren, Victoria Anne Noles, William Taylor Shultz and Madison Bailey Shultz, all of Lenoir City, Tenn. She is also survived by a brother, John Hill (Frieda), and two sisters, Jane Lyons and Susie Moody (Bob). She is also blessed by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins left to remember her.
    Receiving of family and friends will be held from 1 until 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, at Tetrick Funeral Home in Elizabethton, Tenn. Following receiving of family and friends, the funeral service will be conducted by Dr. Alan King at 2 p.m. The graveside service and internment will follow immediately at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends in attendance.

    Mrs. Linda Lewis Ramsey, 62,Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord following a courageous battle with ALS, on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Mrs. Ramsey was a native of Carter County and the daughter of Ivory Hill Lewis of Elizabethton and the late Raymond Keith Lewis, Sr. She was a member of Union Baptist Church where she served as the organist for many years. She was a dedicated RN who worked in Hospice care. She was the most loving and caring mother and grandmother who was especially devoted to her grandchildren. She really enjoyed working in her flowers and she loved butterflies. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Ramsey is survived by her husband, John Ramsey, Sr., Hampton; a son and daughter-in-law, John Ramsey Jr. and his wife Christa, Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Leighton, John Evan, Devin, Landon, Lyndie and Connor Ramsey; two sisters, Brenda Davis and her husband, Wayne, Hampton; Glenna Morton, Elizabethton; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray Lewis, Jr. and his wife, Maxine; Dana "Randy" and his wife, Eddie, all of Elizabethton; Rex and Angela Lewis, Johnson City; special friends, June Bailey, Diane Pierce Maxwell, Yvonne Shoun, Linda Guy, Dorothy Goodwin, Ida Hinkle, Elva Vines, Dottie Higgins and Pam Winchester. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Tetrick Funeral Home, on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and at the residence of her husband, 117 Cates Corner, Hampton or her son, 401 Allen Avenue, Elizabethton at other times. The funeral service for Mrs. Ramsey will be conducted on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Union Baptist Church with Pastor Pete Pollard, Rev. Bob Shupe and Rev. Doug Ranshaw officiating. Music will be under the direction of the church choir. Interment will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jim Greenwell, Gary Trivette, Bill Shoun, Wayne Davis, Terry Arnold, Ronnie Heaton, Jr., Mike Fritz, Matt Zimmerman and Kevin Ward. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Shingleton, Harry "Bobby" Ramsey, Richard and Judy Hicks, Vearl Julian and the members of Union Baptist Church. The family would like to express a special thank you to Medical Care and Dr. Jeff Hopland, Heather Fritz and the Nursing Staff of Gentiva Home Health Care, and her nurses, April, Mark, Eric, Christine, Toby, Ellen, Connie, Ashley and Noel for the loving care shown to Mrs. Ramsey during her illness.
