JOHN R. ESTEP
John R. Estep, 78, of Siam, died Saturday afternoon after a six weeks illness. Mr. Estep was a member of Siam Baptist Church and formerly a Deacon of the Little Doe Baptist Church and the East Side Baptist Church. Mr. Estep served as a magistrate on the County Court of Johnson County for twelve years.
Survivors are his wife, Cordelia of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Othan Arnold of Rt. 5, and Miss Annie Estep of the home; six sons, Wilburn Estep of Doeville; Spencer Estep of the home; James of Bluff City, Nick Estep of Watauga; Maynard Estep of Rt. 2; Haskel Estep of Fort Worth, Texas, and sixteen grandchildren, and a brother, Murry Estep of Rt. 5.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Siam Baptist Church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Willis R. Allen officiating, and Rev. J. J. Richardson and Rev. T. B. Freeman assisting, with burial in the family cemetery at the home.
Pallbearers are: George Estep, Will Estep, Elbert Estep, Lonnie Estep, Junior Hardin, Landon Taylor, Seth Campbell and Winford Campbell. Flower girls will be the nieces.
The body will be taken to the home Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the chapel of the Tetrick Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 12:30 Monday to lie in state until the funeral hour.

Margaret Street passed away in her family home August 11, 2017 after an extended illness. Garrett Hazen Street, her husband of seventy-one years of marriage, passed away two days later on August 13, 2017.

Margaret Ella Mae Street, born on Stoney Creek on January 25, 1929, was the youngest daughter of Wiley Washington Estep and Claire Emily (Arnold) Estep. She was the last surviving sibling of ten children, six who had grown into adulthood.

Garrett Hazen Street was born on Stoney Creek on July 16, 1926, the son of Garrett Hazen Street Senior and Minta Missouri (Eller) Street. He is survived by his brother Herb Street and wife Kathy.

Garrett Hazen was a World War II veteran, serving as a "gunner" on Naval aircraft in the Pacific. He graduated from Milligan College in Elizabethton and worked for General Motors from 1950 until his retirement in 1985. He held various positions throughout his career, including Personnel Director in Muncie and later Vice-President of Labor Relations for Chevrolet. He owned and flew his own aircraft for a time. He loved golfing and martinis. After retirement, he became heavily involved in Dungan Chapel Baptist Church and was a charitable man.

Margaret was a great homemaker and well-loved by most everyone. She was talented in whatever she was interested in at the time, such as winning numerous golf tournaments and making her daughters' gowns for prom. She was very interested in art and picked up painting later in life, as well as being an avid reader. She enjoyed entertaining guests at her home for Garrett's work events. She volunteered at Sycamore Shoals for a time. She was a very sweet, intelligent, and interesting person.

Garrett and Margaret lived in Detroit, Muncie, and Cleveland during Garrett's GM career, and moved back to Margaret's childhood home in Elizabethton after Garrett's retirement, while also spending winters in Fort Myers. Margaret was "brought down Estep Hollow in a wagon at 2 months of age" to move to the home and she later died there eighty-eight years later.

They are survived by their three children; Garry Street and wife Lisa of Elizabethton, TN, Judy Fanning of Muncie, IN, and Beverly House of Elizabethton, TN; six grandchildren, including Michael Ball of Fort Wayne, IN, Chad Street and wife Liana of Longmont, CO, Michael Street and wife Carrie of Loveland, CO, Nicholas House of Muncie, IN, Randall House and wife Jacalyn of Falling Waters, WV, and Matthew House and wife Hillary of Indianapolis, IN; and seven great-grandchildren; also Lora Jones, who was there with Margaret the last six years of her life.

Rev. Lloyd Benson Estep, 81, Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord Saturday, February 2, 2013, at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Roy Estep and Eva Taylor Estep Lipps. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Rev. Estep was a Minister in the Free Will Baptist Church, having pastored churches in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and also at Lyons Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. He also had worked for the United States Forrest Service and was a roofer and Carpenter.
Rev. Estep was a member of the Tiger Creek First Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Ruth Grindstaff and Shirley Williams; and his Step-Father: Webster Lipps.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Kress Ensor. She was a retired school teacher. Mrs Bishop was a 1948 graduate of Unaka High School and received a BS Degree in Elementary Education from Milligan College. She had taught at Unaka Elementary, Buladean Elementary and Midway Elementary Schools. She was a member of the Carter County Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Bishop was a member of the Dungan Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Chalmer Bishop, two sisters: Velma Davis and Moilee Lewis and three brothers: Elbert Kress, Robert and Ivan Ensor.

Aubrey Frank Ensor, 88, Elizabethton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, December 17, 2019. He was born September 06, 1931, to John and Mary Kress Ensor, Elizabethton, Tennessee, where he grew up. He served in the United States Army in the Korean War Conflict. He was retired from Tri-State Container. He was an avid sportsman and loved to fish, hunt, and watch sports.

He was a member of Dungan Chapel Baptist Church where he loved his Sunday School Class. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Ida Connelly, Velma Davis, Rob Ensor, Ivan Ensor, Moilee Lewis, Ella Mae Bishop, and Glen Ensor. He is survived by a brother Dennie Ensor and sister Jesseline Ensor.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Onnie Jemema Lowe Ensor. His children, Sandra and husband Mike Patrick, Clarksville, Tn. Debbie Heaton and husband Eric, Elizabethton, Amy and husband Tank Morrell, Elizabethton and Audra and husband David Wood, Elizabethton. He loved his four grandchildren Brittany Heaton, Cody and Sasha Cornett, Chelsea Wood, Matthew Wood and fiancée Chelsea Grubb. A native of Carter County, Aunt Shotty, as everyone called her, was the daughter of the late John and Mary Kress Ensor. She was a life-long homemaker. Shotty loved to garden, sew, play the piano, and cook. She left behind a legacy of love and compassionate care that she provided to multiple family members, including her parents and siblings. She was of the Baptist faith.

Grayson Elmer Richardson, 81, of Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home. He was a life-long resident of Elizabethton and a son of the late Anderson and Mary Katie Cox Richardson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 special years, Betty Jean Isaacs Richardson, who passed away in 2005; two brothers; and three sisters. Mr. Richardson was a member of First Baptist Church and a former member of Oak Street Baptist Church. He attended Carter County Schools, Elizabethton City Schools and played football in the U.S. Army after high school. He was retired from the Johnson City Press as a supervisor for the Pressroom. His hobby after retiring was working in his wood working shop. He also enjoyed playing with and doing for his grandchildren who meant so much to him. Grayson made an immense impact on those who knew him throughout the years. He was a model of love for his children, family and friends and the spirit of his love will live on in each of our hearts. Mr. Richardson is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Julia Markland and husband Brian and Janna Akers all of Elizabethton; three grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Cara Shea Gouge, Ryan Akers and Marcus Markland; a very special great grand-daughter, Kyra Jean Gouge, whom he called his “little red headed baby”; a very special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, E. Wanda was born June 6, 1935. She was a native of Carter County and a former member of Moore's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church where she played the piano, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. Wanda loved Jesus and loved to
serve Him. She taught her children that the love of Jesus was for everyone and to sing praises to him. Wanda also played and sang with several gospel groups and no doubt, she is singing now.

Ms. Lelia Dora Taylor, 89, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord, on Sunday, December 28, 2014 with her family and close friends by her side, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Pearl Estes Richardson and Noah Richardson, Sr. and was born in Elizabethton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Elwayne Cole, and three brothers, Roy Richardson, Orville Richardson and Noah Richardson, II.

Mrs. Taylor was a member of Dungan Chapel Baptist Church and was retired from North American Rayon. She loved to spend time with her family and friends and especially loved to cook for them. Her pastimes included crocheting, quilting, gardening, cooking and canning the food from her garden.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Noah & Pearl Estes Richardson. He was a Heavy Machine Operator. Mr. Richardson loved to garden, hunt, fish and was a bee keeper. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and loved Baseball.
Mr. Richardson was a member of Dungan Chapel Baptist Church and was a former member and deacon of Unaka Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: Orville and Noah Richardson, Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years: Beulah Finney Richardson. Wanda Hildred "Bee" Grindstaff Peters, 95, of Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home.
She was born in Carter County on April 11, 1922 to the late Elbert C. and Golda Hardin Grindstaff. She lived most of her life in Carter County and attended Unaka High School.
Wanda was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Elizabethton and also attended Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist Church and Milligan Free Will Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. She loved to read her Bible and had read it through many, many times.
Wanda and her husband operated a local grocery store in the Hunter Community of Stoney Creek for several years. Her hobbies included cross-stitching, embroidering, quilting and playing the piano.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray D. Peters, in 1986; a brother, Sherman A. Grindstaff; two sisters, Rena Vaught and Norma Carrier; three infant sisters; and a son-in-law, Rob Sanders.

Norma M. Carrier, age 91, celebrated a glorious union with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, December 13, 2014, after a brief illness, at her residence in Kingsport.
Norma was born in Carter County, TN, on November 12, 1923, to the late Elbert C. and Golda Hardin Grindstaff. She lived most of her life in Carter County, where she grew up, attended Unaka High School, and married and raised her family. She moved to Kingsport, TN, in 2010.
She attended Stoney Creek Baptist Church during her younger years. She became a member of Watauga Valley Freewill Baptist Church after her marriage in 1940. She served her church well by singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School classes and home Bible studies. She was an exceptional student of the Bible and a gifted teacher of the Word of God.
She was employed at Raytheon, Bristol, for several years. She was a talented seamstress and was also an excellent cook.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Gray M. Carrier, on September 28, 2012; a daughter, Gwen Widmyer; a brother, Sherman A. Grindstaff; a sister, Rena Vaught; three infant sisters; and a son-in-law, Bill Hammond.
Survivors include one daughter, Janice Hammond; two grandsons, Brad Hammond and wife, Gloria, and Bart Hammond and wife, Julianne; two granddaughters, Amber Garland and husband, James, and Ginger Shifflett and husband, Paul; two sisters, Wanda Peters, and Mattie Payne and husband, Nat; one brother, Anthony Grindstaff and wife, Betty; ten great-grandchildren, and a son-in-law, Warren Widmyer. ELIZABETHTON - Rita Grindstaff "Mattie" Payne, 87, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023 in the Hermitage Health Center. She was born February 11, 1936, in Carter County to the late Elbert Clinton and Golda Mae Hardin Grindstaff. Mattie was a 1954 Graduate of Unaka High School. She was a homemaker. She was an extremely good Pianist and Organist, having played in church for several years. She was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church of Elizabethton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her husband: Nathaniel C. Payne; one brother and sister-in-law: Henry Anthony & Betty Grindstaff of Bristol, Tenn; also, several special nieces and nephews.

Mattie will be buried in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Everything will be private.

Evelyn Grindstaff "Granny" Ward, age 89, of Elizabethton, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late William Franklin and Jennie Mae Hardin Grindstaff and was born in Carter County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Ward, a sister, Aileen Grindstaff Pierce; two brothers, Robert E. Grindstaff and Floyd Grindstaff.
Mrs. Ward was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed making crafts, selling her jelly at the flea market and playing Bingo.
Survivors include three daughters, Helen Sue Ward O'Bannon and husband, Barrie, of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Barbara Ann Ward Herron and husband, Barry, of Dorothy, West Virginia; Kathy E. Williams and companion, Kenneth Fletcher, both of Elizabethton; one son, Raymond G. Ward, of Elizabethton; eleven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one sister-in-law, Grace Herman, of Alabama; one brother-in-law, Abraham Ward, of Mississippi. Also surviving are special friends, Wesley and Rita Holtsclaw; Wayne and Holly Koonz; Billy and Kathy Cole.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Alf and Etta Pierce Grindstaff.
Mrs. Hicks was employed at Elizabethton Steam Laundry for several years and retired from the Laundry Department of Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was of the Baptist Faith. She loved to quilt, crochet and cross stitching.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis G. Hicks, February 13, 2000; two sisters, Darlene Hampton and Ruby Hicks; and two brothers, Art and Howard Grindstaff.

ELIZABETHTON — Howard Grindstaff, 83, Elizabethton passed away, Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at his residence with his family by his side.

Howard was born November 27, 1932 in Elizabethton to the late Alfred & Etta Pearce Grindstaff. He was known for his outgoing personality and his story telling. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Howard was known for his wood working skills. He retired from Mapes Piano String Company. Howard was an avid UT Vol Fan. He was a member of Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Art Grindstaff; and two sisters, Ruby Hicks and Darlene Hampton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Allen Donnelly and James Roger Donnelly, and a sister, Sue Fletcher.

Danette Hardin, 77, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Daniel H. and Ina M. Estep. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rev. Richard Estep, and a grandson, Jesse Hardin.
Those left to cherish her memories include her devoted husband of 59 years, David “Doug” Hardin; son, Jeff Hardin and wife Sherri; daughter, Stephanie Ensor and husband Donald; six grandchildren, Sarah Hardin (fiancé Weston Colbaugh), John-Wesley Hardin, Rebekah Hardin, Brandi Ensor (fiancé Chris Beach), Davy Ensor and Daniel Ensor; and a very special great-granddaughter, Allie Beach.

Rev. Richard Harvey "Dick" Estep, 69, Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord, Sunday December 28, 2014, at his residence following an extended illness. He was a Carter County native. He was a 1963 graduate of Unaka High School where he was a member of the Ranger Football Team for four years. Richard was ordained to the Ministry by his father-in-law Rev. Homer Salyer at Hunter Memorial Baptist Church forty two years ago. He had served the following Churches: Beck Mountain Baptist Church, Dungan Chapel Baptist Church and Stoney Creek Baptist Church. He also had held several revivals during his Ministry. He also had worked at PSG for 20 years. He was a member of Stoney Creek Baptist Church. She was a member of East River Park Christian Church. She loved listening to music. Mrs. Rice enjoyed her craft work which included sewing and quilting. She was a member of Dykes Creek Baptist Church. Mary Arnold White, 93, of Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital in Elizabethton with her son, Glen White, at her side.
She was born April 7, 1924 to the late Nora and Joseph Daniel Arnold. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Lockhart; brother, Stacy Arnold; husband, James Rondal White; daughter, Shelby Bunton; and grandson, David Bunton.
Mary had a long career at the Giant and Food Lion Supermarkets. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Elizabethton and she delighted in being a top seller of dried fruit and fancy nuts each fall for the church's Backpack Ministries' fundraiser.
She is survived by her son, Glen White and wife Vickie, and son-in-law, Billy Bunton of Elizabethton; grandson, Joe White and Debra Chandler of Elizabethton; granddaughter, Donna Bunton and Dave Lynch of Virginia Beach, Va.; great-grandchildren, Eric Afflerbach and Nikki of Miami Beach, Fla., Cara White and Alex White of Elizabethton; and many extended family members and beloved friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 17, from 12:30 until 2 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Elizabethton. The service is at 2 p.m. officiated by Rev. Kenneth Jordan. Private interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Mark Newman officiating.

Virginia “Nell” Hanson, age 92, of Elizabethton, having completed her earthly mission, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Wexford House in Kingsport, TN, on Wednesday, March 11, 2020. Virginia (Nell) lived most of her life in Carter County, TN. She was a long time member of Stoney Creek Baptist Church and Grace Baptist Church. For the past year, she had resided with her daughter and son-in-law (Kathy & Sid Vicars) in Kingsport, TN. She was born in Carter County on July 2, 1927 to the late David Willis Lewis and Rettie Campbell Lewis. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Markland, Jr.; her second husband, F.D. Hanson; a son, Robert (Bob) Markland ; and her faithful feline companion, Toby; and her many siblings.

Early in her life, Nell was a substitute teacher and cafeteria worker for the Carter County School System in the Unaka Community. She then worked for Tri-State Container while also maintaining her home and raising her children. Nell loved to read. She read many things; her bible, magazines, books and cookbooks. Reading cookbooks facilitated her love of cooking. She loved anything to do with homemaking. She also loved her plants and flowers.

A celebration graveside service for Mrs. Virginia Nell Hanson will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Ron Owens, officiating. Those attending are asked to be there at 11:45AM.

Mother’s smile, pretty blue eyes and her pleasant demeanor were readily recognized by her caregivers, who affectionately knew her by her special signal to get their attention by softly saying, “Yoo-Whoo”!

The family would like to especially thank all of Nell’s dear, special friends who visited her and took care of her in her time of need.

Roy Lee Campbell Sr., 76, of Hampton, passed away at home on Thursday, September 19, 2019. He was the son of the late Jessie Monroe and Lyuna Ada Oliver Campbell. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 51 years, Joanne; son, Roy and wife Carla and their family; grandson, Cameron Campbell; sister, Emma Honeycutt; brother, Bobby Campbell and wife Sue; brother-in-law, Carl Lewis; and sister-in-law, Nancy Shipley.
Family and friends are welcome at the home at any time. It was Roy's wish to be cremated with no formal services.

Rosaline Blevins Lively, 78, Elizabethton, passed away Friday, July 9, 2021, at her residence after an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Beryl Taylor Blevins.
Rosaline was a 1961 graduate of Unaka High School. She was employed at Human Services of Elizabethton before moving to Maryville, Tenn., where she was employed also with Human Services. Later she was owner of Picture Show Video in Maryville. Rosaline was a member of Moores Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. She loved to read, travel and spend time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Infant Sexton Blevins, Leon Blevins and Leroy Blevins.
Survivors include her daughters, Ginger Peters Henry and Elizabeth Ann Lively; her honorary granddaughter, Taylor Rayne Riden; her sister, Irene Brockwell; several nieces and nephews; and her fur baby, Aki Pretty Girl.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, July 12, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Richard Blevins, the Rev. Willie Campbell and the Rev. Buddy Hunt officiating. The Eulogy will be given by Stephanie Pierce. Music will be by Sherry Peters. The graveside service and interment will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, in the Garland Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, will be Paul Riden, Leonard Bowers, Dallas Pierce, Chuck Pierce and Lynn Bowling. ELIZABETHTON - Thomas “Tommy” A. Caldwell, age 63 of Elizabethton went home to be with the Lord on Friday October 15, 2021 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Tommy was born in Elizabethton on December 27, 1957 to the late Thomas “Bill” & Wanda Lou Caldwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom Caldwell and wife Madge and Anderson Richardson & wife Katie.
Tommy was an active member of Sunrise Free Will Baptist Church where he enjoyed playing guitar. He was an avid outdoors man and loved hunting, fishing and trapping. He loved woodworking and building, was very artistic and could play many instruments. He was a man of many talents and hobbies. He was a devoted father and grandfather. “Paw” had a very special love for his grandchildren with whom he loved to spend time with and be around.
Those left to cherish his memory are two daughters: Heather (Mike) Fritts and Savanna (David) Cable. His Grandchildren: Dylan, Sophie, Will, Zachary and Easton. Five Sisters: Kathy (David) Gilliam, Joyce Richardson, Maria (Jerome) Ford, Brenda (Merle) Nidiffer and Mary Carrier. Bobby Joe Richardson, 75, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at his residence.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Roy and Beulah Finney Richardson.
Bobby Joe loved to fox hunt, go fishing and raise chickens. He was a member of Unaka Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Patsy Williams, of the home, and Pamela Martin and husband Lee, Elizabethton; one brother, Dr. James Richardson and wife Judy, Elizabethton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, February 13, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with his brother, Dr. James Richardson, and Rev. Troy Davis officiating. Jerry Ray Heatherly, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Heatherly, died at the home Sunday p.m. at 10:30, after a short illness.
Survivors are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Heatherly; two sisters, Sandra Kay and Barbara Sue; the maternal grandparents, Mrs. Nora Alice McAmis of Elizabethton and Francis McAmis of Johnson City; the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mollie Heatherly of Elizabethton.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Moore's Chapel Church at Saidee[sic] on Stoney Creek, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. C. E. Holder and the Rev. B. S. Ray officiating. Burial will be made in the Garland Cemetery.
The funeral cortege will leave the residence Tuesday afternoon at 12:30.

Randy Keith Shoun, 64, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Leonard and Corine Estep Shoun.
Randy was a graduate of Unaka High School and attended Herman Robinson Vocational Technical School. He was retired from the Radiology Department of the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. He loved working on cars.
Randy was a member of Hunter United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Blake Tanner, and a sister, Tammy Shoun. Randy was a member of Hunter United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Cathy Shell Shoun; his children, Brittany Shoun, Olivia Shoun, Jessica Cloutier and Lucas (Brittany) Tanner; several grandchildren; and one brother, Joey (Amy) Shoun.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, January 10, in the Shoun Cemetery with the Rev. Lu Crandell Miller and the Rev. Mike Berry officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

Mrs. Rosanna Lee Estep Harney, 69, of Unicoi, Tenn., passed away on Monday, September 30, 2019, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was a daughter of the late Lenard and Margaret Ann Estep, born to them on January 3, 1950 in Johnson City, Tenn. Rosanna was a Licensed Practical Nurse and greatly enjoyed reading and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Johnny Michael.
Rosanna is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Jack Harney; her children, Misty Dawn Fore (Jeffrey), Jackie Oakley, Kristina Cocklin (Lincoln), Heidi Harney, Heather Taylor (Billy) and Gabrielle Harney (Aaron); 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Martha Whaley, Roger Estep, Kathy Budenko and Clyde Estep. She is also survived by a host of many relatives and friends left behind to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rosanna Harney will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, October 4, in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services with Rev. Jerry Honeycutt officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday after 5 p.m. until the hour of service at 7 p.m. A committal service will be held on Saturday, October 5, at noon in the Taylor Cemetery in Stoney Creek (3119 Highway 91, Elizabethton, TN 37643) with Jeff Fore, Lincoln Cocklin, Billy Taylor, Trever Fore, Caelob Crowe, Gage Taylor and Gavin Cocklin serving as pallbearers.

Eric Scott Oliver, 50, Elizabethton, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 9, 2021. He was born April 23, 1971 in Johnson City.
Scott was a graduate of Hampton High School. He was self-employed in the lawn business. Prior to that he was employed at Douglas Dynamic for 20 years. He loved fishing, hiking, loved being with friends and he loved his children with all his heart. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Scott was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carl and Nora Hardin, and his paternal grandparents, Stacey and Helen Oliver.
Survivors include his children, Sydney Oliver and Nicholas Oliver; his father, Stacey Oliver Sr. and his wife Ternia, Maiden, N.C.; his mother, Sherry Fortner and husband Kenneth, Elizabethton; a sister, Carla Schroeder and husband Tony, Maiden, N.C.; a brother, Stacey “Jimmy” Oliver, Elizabethton; a special aunt, Charlotte Williams; a special uncle, Carl Hardin Jr.; one niece, Alanna Sigmon; one nephew, Brandon Arthur; a great-niece, Baby Holland; many cousins and many friends he loved very much including his best friend, Dale Campbell, and all his friends at Douglas Dynamic.
The graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 14, in the Caldwell Springs Cemetery with Dr. Alan King officiating. Music will be provided by Amy Banner. Interment will follow the service.
