    JONESBOROUGH - Rosemary Trivett Strickland, 85, of Jonesborough, TN. went home to her husband and son on Friday, October 6, 2017

    She was the daughter of Hazel and James Trivett, and stepdaughter of Walter Estep. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 year, Ernest J. Strickland, a son Ray Strickland, a granddaughter Barbara Patterson Weidner, and sister Frances Campbell Snell.

    Rosemary was a longtime member of Union Christian Church. She was loved by everyone, and was considered the "neighborhood Mamaw."

    Survivors include her daughter Linda Tripodi, and husband Tony, daughter-in-law Faye Strickland, granddaughter Kristy Mefford and husband Travis, grandsons Robert Strickland and Brandi and Timothy Strickland, two brothers James "Buddy" Trivett and wife Elvaleen and Kenneth Estep, and sister Clayetta Burcham. She had eight great grandchildren; Kacie, Hannah, Christsopher, Elijah, Katlynn, Carly, Jaycob and Tarynn, and also two great great grandsons Rylan and Christian. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews whom she considered her children and loved them dearly.

    The family will receive friends at Appalachian Funeral Home from 5PM to 7PM on Sunday October 8, 2017. A short service will follow at 7PM with minister Palma L. Bennett. A graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memory Gardens on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 11AM.

    FAYETTEVILLE - Funeral Service for Mr. James Donald Trivett, Jr., age 87, of Fayetteville will be conducted on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 10 AM with Bro. Eddie Graves, Bro. Mike Johnson and Bro. Eddie Lones officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens.

    James was born June 9, 1934 in Greenville, TN to the late James Donald Trivett, Sr. and Hazel Leonard Trivett Estep. He graduated from Science Hill High School and later served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. James worked for over 24 years as a troubleshooter at Chrysler and was a member of UAW Local 1413. Known as "Preacher" by many, he served on the Chaplain Committee for Chrysler and was the minister of Delina Church of God for 39 years. James also enjoyed showing sheep and was the Barn Superintendent for many years at the Lincoln County Fair.

    James is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elvaleen Wyatt Trivett of Fayetteville, TN; daughters, Paula Marshall of Fayetteville, TN and Velva (Jeff) Walker of Flintville, TN; grandchildren, Jessica (Lance) Jean, Zack (Jamie) Walker, Courtney Walker and Meg Walker all of Flintville, TN; six great-grandchildren, Troy Shull, Dakota Shull, Trevor Shull, Matthew Jones, Eli Jean and Harper Jean; brother, Kenneth Estep of Elizabethton, TN; and sister, Clayetta Burcham of Bland, VA; and grand fur babies Zoe and Blaine. In addition to his parents James was preceded in death by his stepfather, Walt Estep of Elizabethton, TN; sisters, Frances Campbell and Rosemary Strictland of Johnson City, TN

    Alfred D. Trivett went home to be with his Lord on Monday, October 21, 2019 at Dominion Senior Living Center in Bristol, TN. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Trivett was preceded in death by his parents James and Minnie Trivett; brothers: James Leon, Wayne, Bill, Richard A. and Harold Trivett; sisters: Doris A. Jones and Laura Mae Trivett and his son Kevin Trivett. He is survived by his sisters: Joan Jones, Peggy Farmer and Marie Peltier; grandson's: Nathan Trivett and Justin Trivett (Megan); great-grandson: Lane; daughter-in-law; Phyllis Trivett and his loving companion Patsy Adams and her family that loved him dearly. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM til 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the East Tennessee Funeral Home, 2630 Hwy 75 Blountville, TN 37617 with a service to follow with Pastor Bob Robinson officiating .Mr. Trivett will be laid to rest with full Military Rites by the American Legion Hammond Post 3/265 Honor Guard in the East Tennessee Cemetery Garden of Devotion. The family would like to thank Dominion Senior Living Center and Avalon Hospice for the love and care shown to Alfred and his family.
