Mrs. Nancy Catherine Reece Netherly, age 73, died at her home Tuesday evening at 6:00 o'clock after an illness of five weeks.
Mrs. Netherly was born Dec. __, 1869, and was married to J. I. Netherly, Dec. 4, 18__. She had been a member of the Missionary Baptist church for the past 55 years.
Survivors are her husband, Jacob I. Netherly; one son Smith Netherly, Butler; five daughters, Mrs. Allen Courtner, Butler; June Holly, Mrs. Jerome Netherly Crockett, Mrs. R. L. Smith, Mrs. Lee Mace, all of Elizabethton; one stepson, Oliver Netherly, Butler; 22 grandchildren including John R. Crockett, Fort Benn__, Ga., and Frank Crockett, Elizabethton who have made their home with her, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2:__ o'clock from the Calvary Baptist church with the Rev. James Sherwood, Rev. M. K. Cobble, ___ Cox, Carl Roberts officiating. Burial will be made in Happy Valley Memorial Park.

REECE RITES TUESDAY P.M.
John E. Reece, 57, of Graysville, Tenn., brother of Congressman B. Carroll Reece and Lem L. Reece, died Sunday morning at 11:45 at Mountain Home hospital in Johnson City following an illness of several months.
Funeral services and interment will be at Sugar Grove Baptist Church near Butler, Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 with the Rev. James Sherwood officiating. The funeral procession will leave Appalachian Funeral Home in Johnson City at 1:00 p.m.
Mr. Reece, a Spanish American War veteran, was for many years in the merchantile[sic] business at Butler, and for the past few years had been connected with the Inspection Bureau of the Federal Alcohol Tax unit.
He is survived by his widow, Minnie Doughtery Reece; his mother, Mrs. Sallie E. Reece of Johnson City; the following brothers and sisters, J. L. Reece, W. L. Reece, W. J. Reece, B. Carroll Reece, Lem L. Reece, Mrs. Anna R. Thompson, Millard B. Reece, Mrs. H. B. Cupp and Raleigh Reece.

RALEIGH V. REECE
Funeral services for Raleigh V. Reece, brother of Congressman B. Carroll Reece, chairman of the Republican National Committee, who died last Friday night in the Veterans' Administration Hospital, were held at the home of a sister, Mrs. H. P. Cupp, on the government reservation Monday.
Mr. Reece was textile manager of American Bembery Corporation in Elizabethton before entering the armed services in 1942. He was a graduate of Carson-Newman College, a former teacher and newspaperman.
Mr. Reece succeeded John T. Scoopes of the famous evolution test trial in the school system at Dayton in 1925. He served in the Army Air Corps and was discharged with the rank of lieutenant colonel.

Landrine J. Robinson, age 60 of Shouns (Woods Hill) died unexpectedly from an apparent heart attack Saturday at 4 p.m. He was a native of Johnson County, son of the late Henry and Sarah Eggers Robinson; and a farmer.
Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Lona Blanche Robinson, Shouns; three sons, Claude Edward Robinson, West Grove, Pa., Loyd Robinson, Lexington, N.C. and Ben Franklin Robinson, Lexington, N.C.; four daughters, Mrs. Nellie N. Leonard, Bristol, Mrs. Sarah V. Mr. Taft Eggers, 94, of Trade, Tennessee, died Friday, September 12, 2003 at Watauga Medical Center, following a brief illness.

He was born October 28, 1908, the late Millard Monroe and Nelia Main Eggers, and was a native of Trade, Tennessee.

Mr. Eggers was a farmer, logger and a former employee of the Johnson County Highway Department. He was a member of the Centerview Church of Christ.

Survivors include four daughters; three sons; four sisters; one brother, 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, seven step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; and special friend Boyd.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rosa Miller Eggers; one daughter, Jean Eggers Lippard, one daughter-in-law, Eleanor Roberts Eggers; an infant daughter; one brother, Stacy Eggers; one sister, Lola Wilson and one son-in-law, Dick Wilson.

Services were conducted Sunday evening at 8 p.m. at the Hux-Lippard Funeral Home, officiated by Mr. Bud Gentry and Mr. Darrell Broking officiating. Entombment services were held Monday morning at 10 a.m. at the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum of Love.

Known as “Mother” to her family, she had an amazing and gifted talent for gardening, crocheting, and quilting. She lovingly hand quilted each of her grandchildren their own quilt which each of them treasure with all their hearts.

In the last years of her life she enjoyed the simple pleasures of life like long walks and sitting on the front porch watching the birds she fed. She enjoyed these simple things with her best friend, Ms. Anna Dowell, who preceded her in death in April 2016. The family is most grateful for the love and friendship Anna shared with her.

She was born September 20, 1919 to the late Emit Eggers and Ada Maine Eggers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Thomas. She was a member of the Centerview Church of Christ.

Survivors include: One daughter, Marguerite Miller and husband Clyde and one son, Wade Thomas and wife Marcia all of Mountain City, Tennessee. She was blessed with several grandchildren: Penny and husband Todd Chappell, Banner Elk, NC, David and wife Shirlene Miller, Elizabethton, TN, Dawn and John Taylor, Watauga, TN. Nine great grandchildren: April Miller, Matthew Miller, Cory Miller, Katie Skiera, Kelly Studer, Dustin Osborne, Brad Osborne, Rachel Osborne and Isaac Carr; three great great-grandchildren: Peyton Osborne, Ezra Studer and Clara Miller. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation for Ms. Pearl Thomas will be Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the Charles B. Hux Chapel from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service at 4:00 p.m. which will be at the Charles B. Hux Chapel, Hux-Lipford Funeral Home in Mountain City, and TN. with Rev. David Hankal officiating.

Graveside service will follow the funeral service at Sunset Memorial Park, Mountain City, TN. Mrs. Perry was a homemaker and a member of Zionville Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, three sons, two sisters, one brother. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Trula Lee Taylor and a grandson, Steven Perry.

ELIZABETHTON - Mr. James Paul Pearson, age 90, of Elizabethton, TN went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from Franklin Woods Community Hospital.

A native of Elk Mills, TN he was the son of the late Grover Clyde and Hattie Mary Anna Eggers Pearson. He was a graduate of Hampton High School where he played basketball and he attended Milligan College. Mr. Pearson had worked at Bemberg, Beaunit and North American Rayon and retired as a Vice-President and Plant Engineer in charge of Research and Development at Universal Fibers, formerly Camac Corporation, Bristol, VA . Mr. Pearson was a long standing member of 67 years at Southside Christian Church, Elizabethton where he was instrumental in building the new sanctuary. He was a former teacher in the Adult and Youth Sunday School Classes and had served as a Deacon and Elder. Mr. Pearson enjoyed riding motorcycles, working on cars, mowing the yard, and fixing anything for others.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Dorothy Clark Pearson; five brothers, Howard Pearson, Dale Pearson, Ernest Pearson, Edsel Pearson and Doug Pearson and a sister, Geraldine Stanton. Those left to cherish his memory include a son, Dr. James M. Mrs. Geraldine 'Jerri' Stanton, age 83, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief but courageous battle. A native of Carter County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Anna Pearson. Geraldine was known by family and friends as 'Jerri'. She loved to spend time with her family and church family. She also loved to cook, sew and work in the garden.

He was born on March 14, 1911, in Zionville, NC, to the late William Claude and Emma Miller Eggers. He lived most of his life in Washington County, Va., area. He was a graduate of Greenfield High School and held a bachelor's degree from Emory & Henry College. He was a retired sanitation with the Virginia Health Department, having worked in Washington County for more than 25 years before his retirement in 1976. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy on board the USS Tennessee Battleship. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Smyth Eggers in 1995, after 60 years of marriage. He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows and McCabe Lodge No. 56 for more than 60 years. He was also a member of Abingdon Masonic Lodge No. 48 A. F. & A.M. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years. He was also preceded in death by two infant sons; one brother, R. Glenn Eggers; and two sisters, Pearl Eggers Jones and Edith Compton. Richard L. Eggers, age 91, a well known resident of Jerry Lane, Abingdon, VA went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 10, 2004 in Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was born August 19, 1912 in Zionsville, North Carolina, a son of the late William Claude Eggers and the late Emma Miller Eggers. He and his family moved to Virginia in December, 1923. He attended elementary schools in Mabel, North Carolina, and Lodi and Meadowview, Virginia. He attended Greenfield High School and was a graduate of Rich Valley High School. He was a former truck driver, a licensed insurance adjuster, and for many years was the owner of Eggers Insurance Agency in Abingdon. He was a salesman for Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon for many years and was a retired farmer. He was the last male charter member of the Abingdon Bible Church where he had served as an Elder, Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Sunday School Superintendent. He had attended Greendale Chapel for the past several years. He loved baseball, was a member of the Greenfield High School Baseball Team during high school and later served as a coach for the Moose Team of the Babe Ruth League and helped lead the team to a state championship. He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows, McCabe Lodge No. 56 for over 50 years. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in Japan. He had a great love for the Lord, reading, music, and traveling. He and his family sang in a Gospel quartet for several years and had a Sunday morning program on WOPI radio. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, James G. Eggers and R. Glenn Eggers; three sisters, Pearl Eggers Jones, Bonnie Whiteaker Nash and Edith Compton; and a granddaughter, Kim Lotts Campbell.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Dora Mae Jones Eggers; one daughter, Phyllis Eggers Lotts and husband K. W. (Wick) Lotts of Abingdon; two sons, Richard Larry Eggers and wife Jo of Buchanan, Virginia, and the Rev. Jerry A. Bernice Turnmire parents were James Calvin Turnmire of North Carolina 1872 – 1960 and Texie Brookshire 1886 – 1977 of Tennessee. She had several siblings.

In 1910, when Nellie was a year old, her parents were living on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation, Chouteau, Montana. Her father was farming, and her mother was employed as a cook.

The family had relocated to Civil District 16, Washington, Tennessee in 1920. They were renting a house that was on a farm, and Nellie's father was working out as a farmer.

By 1930 the family had relocated again, now to District 9, Greene, Tennessee. They still rented a farm house and her father was employed as a farmer.

When she was 47 years old, she married Thomas Bert Smith, after his first wife died. They had one known daughter, Edna June Smith, born in 1930.

Thomas died Sept. 27, 1957. Thomas's death certificate revealed that he died at 138 Patton Street at Limestone, Green Co. Tennessee of a Cerebrovascular accident due to Generalized Arteriosclerosis that he had been surffering for 5 years prior to his death. His recent wife, Bernice Turnmire Smith was the informant on his death certificate.

Helen Amelia Neatherly (Morley) McKittrick passed away, following a brief illness, on May 10, 2013, in Pueblo, Colo. She died at the Joni Fair Hospice House, named in honor of her daughter.

Helen was born in Bristol, Va., on March 23, 1920, to Smith and Ethel Neatherly, but was raised in Butler, Tenn., the tiny town in Johnson County which was abandoned when the TVA built Watauga Dam nearby. The back-waters from the dam covered this pristine community in 1949, and the town was re-located to higher ground ½ mile away. Butler was the only town sacrificed in a TVA project.

In Butler, she attended the Butler Baptist Church and Watauga Academy, the high school operated by the Southern Baptist Convention.

She married David C. Morley Sr. on June 29, 1940, in Butler, where they started their family. This lost community was important to Helen, and she participated in several reunions held by former residents to honor the memory of "Old" Butler and those who lived there.

Following the forced relocation of Butler's residents, Helen and D.C. settled in Elizabethton, Tenn., where she attended Oak Street Baptist Church and was active in the WMU and church choir. She retired from the Elizabethton City School System and took great pride and satisfaction in helping children who were educationally challenged.

She relocated to Colorado Springs, Colo., to be close to her children. In Colorado, she attended the Security Baptist Church and the Circle Drive Baptist Church, where she met and married Robert R. McKittrick on Feb. 14, 2000. They lived in Colorado Springs and Denver, and most recently at Primrose Retirement Community in Pueblo.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and her first husband, D.C., who died in Pueblo in 1984 following 44 years of marriage.

Survivors include her second husband, Robert R. McKittrick, of Pueblo, Colo.; her daughter, Amelia Joan "Joni" (Wayne) Fair, of Pueblo; a son, David C. (Susan) Morley Jr., of Venice, Fla. She left five grandchildren, Michael Fair, of Elizabethton, Tenn., Shana Fair, of Pueblo, Tara Edwards, of Parker, Colo., Christopher Morley, of Denver, and Tricia Morley, of Littleton, Colo.; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. A sister, Georgia Osburn, also survives in Oak Ridge, Tenn.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013, at Montgomery & Steward Funeral Home in Pueblo, with entombment at 2 p.m. in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Colorado Springs.

Robert "Earl" Courtner, 95, of Johnson City, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

He was a native of Carter County, TN, and a son of the late Robert Allen Courtner and Mattie Mae Neatherly Courtner. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Howard and Ralph Courtner; and two sisters, Chloe Lipford and Vernell Bowling.

Mr. Courtner was a veteran of WW II and was stationed in England. He was in the Army Air Corps.

He retired from North American Rayon and had worked as a Shipright in Metal Manufacturing in Greeneville, TN.

He was a member of University Parkway Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mildred Ann Courtner; one daughter, Carolyn Courtner Wood and her husband, Claude Jr., of Knoxville, TN; one son, Stephen Robert Courtner and his wife, Carol, of Jackson, TN; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Courtner and Lucille Hodge, both of Butler; one sister in law, Martha Courtner.

Lucille Courtner Lowe Hodge, 86, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018.
A native of old Butler, she was a daughter of the late Robert Allen "R.A." and Mattie Mae Neatherly Courtner.
Lucille attended Watauga Academy, graduated from Hampton High School and graduated from Tri Cities Beauty College in Johnson City. She also attended East Tennessee State College for three years. Lucille was a member of Zion Baptist Church since 2008 and a former member of Butler Baptist Church for 64 years. She was a member of Butler Chapter #218 Order of Eastern Star for 66 years going in January 3, 1952.
Lucille was owner and operator of Lucille's Beauty Shop in Butler for 15 years, employed at Johnson County Hospital in Mountain City for 15 years, and also employed at North American Rayon Corporation in Elizabethton and Northeast Correctional Center in Mountain City.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Henry Lowe, the father of her children, M.E. Cardwell and Clyde Hodge; a daughter, Rita Lowe Stephens, Griffin, Ga.; three sisters, Chloe Lipford, Vernell Cable Boling and Frances Courtner; and three brothers, Paul, Howard and Earl Courtner.
Survivors include her daughter, Nioka Lowe Markland and husband, David; a son, Michael Allen Lowe, Elizabethton; one granddaughter, Stephanie White Campbell, and two great-granddaughters, Savannah Riley and Alexandria Marie Campbell, all of Taylors, S.C.; her special step-daughter, Helen Renfro and husband Gene, Johnson City; one special step-grandson, Gene Renfro and wife Katie, Johnson City; several nieces and great-nephews, including one special niece, Carolyn Wood, Concord, Tenn.
Funeral services for Lucille Courtner Lowe Hodge will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. D. Alan King, Dr. James Richardson and Rev. Sherrill Nave officiating. Music will be provided by the Zion Baptist Church Choir, her daughter, Nioka Markland, Jean Osborne and Jennifer Hughes, pianists. Interment will follow in the Butler Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Daniel Wood officiating. Active pallbearers will be Teddy Greenwell, Jerry Lyons, Harry Pierce, Gene Renfro, Willie McVay and Freddy Julian. It is with great sadness the family of Helen G Bumgardner announces her passing on Monday, December 6th, 2021 at the Mountain City Care Center at the age of 90.
Helen was born in Johnson County, TN, on December 8, 1930. She was the daughter of the late George Robinson and Edith Reece. In addition to her parents she was proceeded in death by sons; Wayne and Jim Bumgardner; brothers: Charles and Justin Robinson; sisters Violet Mast, Geneva Hurd, Dora Wilson and Georgia Hodge; son- in-law Coy Gentry, and granddaughter; Tabby Bumgardner. She was a member of Centerview Church of Christ.

Violet Mae Mast, daughter of the late George Washington Robinson and Edith Mae (Reece) Robinson, was born on September 19, 1933 in Trade, Tennessee. She joined the Centerview Church of Christ in Trade, Tennessee at an early age and was a devoted member. She attended Bulldog School, and later attended Cove Creek High School (for one year), then attended Mountain City High School. Violet shared many stories of her life growing up in the hills of Tennessee with her brothers and sisters. Violet was united in marriage to the late Bobby Gene Mast on December 19, 1952. Their union of 64 years was filled with many blessings including three daughters. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning vegetables from her garden, and embroidering. She attended Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Rising Sun, Maryland. Violet worked at RMR Corporation in Elkton, Maryland until her retirement in 1987. In recent years she enjoyed traveling, taking her first plane ride to Fort Worth, Texas one month ago at age 86.

Violet peacefully went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 6, 2020 surrounded by family at Lancaster General Hospital. In addition to her parents and husband, Violet is preceded in death by three sisters: Dora Wilson of Zionville, North Carolina, Geneva Hurd of Trade, Tennessee, Georgia (Toots) Hodge of Mountain City, Tennessee, and three brothers: Justin Robinson and Charles Robinson, both of Trade, Tennessee and Charlie Cecil Robinson (stillborn).

Violet is survived by three daughters: Barbara Ann Davis and her husband Leo of Troutdale, Virginia, Linda Sue Miller and her husband Jon of New Providence, Pennsylvania and Cathy Jean Rehmeyer and her husband Wayne of New Freedom, Pennsylvania. Also, Mrs. Mast is survived by four grandchildren: Jon Richard Miller Jr. of Millersville, Pennsylvania, Bobby Glen Miller and wife Erin of Denver, Pennsylvania, Katelynn Amanda Allen and husband Jacob of Oxford, Pennsylvania, and Henry Matthew Ray and wife Kayte of North East, Maryland; and eight great-grandchildren Summer Rayne Miller, Ashton Tyler Miller, Cooper Anthony Miller, Cohen Tate Miller, Luke Henry Allen, Rosie Quinn Ray, Leah Jean Allen and Jackson Alexander Ray . Wanda Lee Brown, age 69, of 158 H. Curd Lane, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683, passed away at her home on Sunday, August 11, 2019, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on December 5, 1949, to the late William Howard "Taft" and Rosa Ella Miller Eggers. She was the daughter-in-law of the late Marvin Roby Brown and Ida Simcox Brown. In addition to her parents and in-laws, she was preceded in death by her sister, Roma Jean Eggers Lipford and Shirley Mae Eggers Jenkins.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 53 years, Billy Ray Brown, sons Robert Keith Brown and wife Heather and Jeffrey Scott Brown and wife Pam, along with three grandsons that were the loves of her life, Griffin Brown, Isaac Brown, and Carson Brown. She is also survived by her brothers, Frank "Earl" Eggers of Neva, Eddie Dale Eggers and wife, Liz of Arizona, Teddy Austin Eggers and wife, Jan of Bristol, TN, sisters Carolyn "Sue" Wilson of Limestone, TN and Phyllis Joan Parker of Trade, TN. She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews that were very dear throughout her life.

Wanda was an excellent seamstress and worked from her home for many years sewing. She was most widely known for her excellent cake decorating and was in high demand for her beautiful creations for over forty years. She was a former employee of the Mountain City Glove Plant for many years before receiving her CNA II certification and pursuing a career in healthcare for Watauga County, North Carolina's Project on Aging where she retired after 18 years of service in 2012.

Wanda was a member of Hammons Chapel Christian Church. Her family has been especially blessed by their pastor Josh Giddings, who has been a constant source of strength, faith and a prayer warrior for the family during this trying time.

Funeral Services for Wanda Brown will be held Wednesday, August 14th, 2019, at 7:00 pm from the C.B Hux Memorial Chapel with a visitation from 5:00-7:00 pm.

Graveside Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 10:00 am.

William Lloyd Wilson, Sr., 89, of Avondale, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Twin Pines Health Care Center, West Grove.

He was the husband of Janice Marie Greer Wilson with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.

Born in Mt. City, TN he was the son of the late Alfred and Lola Belle Eggers Wilson.

William was a veteran of the US Marine Corps serving in Korean War.

William was Baptist by faith.

He was a self-employed truck driver delivering hay and straw to the local horse farms and was also retired from Hudson Farms in West Grove.

He enjoyed taking care of his yard, working on cars and trucks and spending time with his family and pets.

He is survived by his wife; one son, William Lloyd Miles of AZ; one daughter, Judith Casanta (Leonard) of West Grove; four step-children, Jerry Ricky Price (Sue) of New London, Linda Pastorius (Bob) of West Grove, Edward Price (Sally Mull) of Rising Sun, MD and Christine Rickabaugh (Paul) of Cochranville; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; twelve step-great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Boyd Wilson of Mt. City, TN, Stacey Wilson of Nottingham, Nell Greer of Toughkenamon, Curtis Greer of Quarryville and Gordon Wilson of London Grove.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Penny Wilson Brown; one grandson, Eric Price; one great-granddaughter, Aria Sydenstricker and one brother, Tom Wilson.

Funeral services will be held 11 am on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at the Edward L. Collins, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 86 Pine St., Oxford, where family and friends may visit from 10 – 11 am.

Interment will be in New London Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Marguerite Thomas Miller, age 81, treasured wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, passed away at her home in Mountain City, Tennessee, on March 30th, 2021. Marguerite was cherished, and she will be remembered as a special lady with a beautiful smile by her family and friends. For certain, her son David and daughter Dawn will miss "Mom" whom they dearly loved and who taught them to respect her and do as she said.

Marguerite was born to Dean H. and Pearl M. Thomas of Trade, Tennessee on July 21st, 1939. Her name was chosen for her by her father who had discovered the moniker when he worked as a very young man on an Idahoan ranch. Although everyone who knew her loved her name, Marguerite said it was too hard for people to pronounce it or spell it correctly. She preferred to be called "Margie"- especially by her adoring husband of over 60 years, Clyde Miller, who preceded her in death in February, 2018.

Anna Lou Maupin, age 81, of Johnson City, TN passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Waters on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. Anna was the daughter of the late Earnest Maupin and Maymie Eggers Maupin.
She was preceded in passing by her brother, Cecil Maupin; brothers-in-law, George Campbell, Carl Ferguson, and Wayne Oliver, and a special friend Clayton Campbell.
Anna was a member of the Rich Acres F.W.B. Church. She loved her church family and listening to gospel music. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.
Anna is survived by sisters; Bonnie Campbell, Lillian Oliver, Betty Ferguson, Louise Thompson (Richard), Margie Barry (Jim) and Viola Verran, and a very special friend; Clark Verran. Several Nieces and Nephews also remain to cherish Anna’s memory.

Rosemary Guy Woodard, age 62, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 17, 1956 to the late Bill and Diana Morefield Guy.

Rosemary was a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior. She was a member of Southside Freewill Baptist Church. She loved her church and church family and cherished her memories of teaching her children's Sunday School Class. She was dearly loved and cherished by her family. She was the best Mammaw and treasured her time with her grandchildren. Rosemary never met a stranger and was a special blessing to all who knew her.

She was a former employee of Timberland Shoe Company and Lois' Country Café.

Patricia G. Pearson-Hamby, age 74, of Kingsport passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018. Patricia was born in Carter County, TN on October 21, 1945, to the late Earnest and Wanda Pearson.

Patricia was a member of Vaught's Gap Independent Baptist Church. Patricia loved to sing and collecting Angels. She took great joy in caring for her family whom she loved very much. Patricia loved her two companions, her every faithful kitties, Molly and Baby.

Patricia will live on in those left to cherish her memory. Donna Kaye Pearson was born August 2, 1953 in Butler, TN and she was the daughter of the late Ernest R. Pearson and Wanda B. Forrester Pearson. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Pearson Hamby.

Donna is survived by her husband, Dannie R. Stanley, Johnson City; son, Kevin Ward and wife Jerissa Ward, Elizabethton; Daughter Kim Lester and husband Larry Lester, Fall Branch; Daughter Heather Baker and husband Wayne Baker, Gray; son Jared B. Audrey Camilla Reece, age 75, went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2022. Audrey was born on April 21, 1946 to the late Charles and Suma Reece. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several aunts, uncles, and nephew, Michael Reece.

Audrey was an avid reader and book collector. She was also a big Elvis Presley fan and collector of Elvis memorabilia. She was a great sister and wonderful aunt. Audrey was employed as a secretary for Lewis May, a former attorney and then district attorney general. Afterward she worked for over 40 years for the Johnson County Board of Education. She dearly loved her church, Valley View United Methodist Church.

GRAY - Kathy Joan Brown, 65, of Gray Tennessee went to be with the lord at her home on Sunday January 1st, 2023.

Kathy was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee in 1957. She attended King Springs Baptist Church. She loved working in her flowers, yard sales, decorating her home and she was a great cook. Kathy loved spending time with her family as well as her two cats Bella and Moosie.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Maupin; father-in-law, Leeroy Brown; mother-in-law, Virginia France; sister-in-law, Beverly Maupin; nephew, Joshua Maupin and niece, Carly Maupin.

Those left to cherish Kathy’s memory include her loving husband, Bernie Brown; mother, Barbara Maupin; son, Michael Brown and wife Missy; grandsons, Brandon and Colin Brown; sisters, Nancy Gardner and husband R.J., Letha Jones and husband Jeff, Karen Williams and husband Shona; brothers, Charles Maupin and wife Carol, Jimmy Maupin, Timmy Maupin and wife Leanne, Kevin Maupin and wife Tina, Scotty Maupin and wife Melissa; brother-in-law, Dennis Brown and wife Debbie as well as many nieces and nephews.

The Brown family will receive friends from 6:00 pm til 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Tetrick Funeral Services 3001 Peoples Street, Johnson City, TN. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm. A graveside service will be held for Kathy at Washington County Memory Gardens on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 10:00 am. Services to be conducted by Pastor Luka Temaj.

Pallbearers include: Brian Williams, Jesse Gardner, Cody Hill, Charlie Maupin, Ernie Maupin, Jimmy Maupin and Ricky Mosier.

Michael Wayne Reece, age 47, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born in Banner Elk, North Carolina on May 28, 1971 to Terry Reece and Sue Michael Reece Adkins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Fred and Georgie Michael and paternal grandparents, Charles and Suma Reece.

Michael loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed animals, flowers and gardening. He also enjoyed woodworking. Michael enjoyed sports but especially liked football.He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and loved his Lord and Savior dearly. He was a loving, caring person with a big heart and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish his memories include his mother, Sue Reece Adkins, father, Terry Reece, brother, Craig Reece, special nephew, Caleb Reece, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Morefield officiating. Special music will be provided by Linda Trivette. Graveside service and interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Bobby Michael, Donnie Warren, Brian Sargent, Bryan Lay, Blair Robbins and Jamie Blevins. Honorary pallbearers are Max Blevins and Nick McFadden.
