    Will Elliott Dies After Heart Attack
    W. D. Elliott, prominent Carter County farmer, died in the St. Elizabeth Hospital at 12:15 today following a heart attack at his home last Friday night.
    Mr. Elliott is survived by his wife, the former Belle Campbell, Elizabethton and three sons, Niles, Vernon and Haywood Elliott and Mrs. Edward Buckles, all of Elizabethton. Six grandchildren also survive.
    Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
    Mr. Elliott is the brother of Joe Bartee and Pete Elliott of Elizabethton, James and Seth Elliott and Mrs. R. W. Grindstaff of Route 2 and R. H. Elliott of Erwin. His sister, Mrs. Wiley Rasor of Denver, Colorado was a recent visitor in Elizabethton.

    William Daniel Elliott, age 65, died in a local hospital Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. after a short illness.
    Mr. Elliott was a member of the Lynn Valley Baptist Church.
    Survivors are his wife Mrs. Bell Elliott, Route 5, Elizabethton; four sons, Niles Elliott, Vernon Elliott, Haywood Elliott, Cleamon Elliott of Elizabethton; one daughter, Mrs. Edward Buckles, Elizabethton; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Rasor, Denver, Col., Mrs. Jettie Grindstaff, Elizabethton; P. H. Elliott, Elizabethton, Ruben Elliott, Erwin; 6 grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 1:30 from the Lynn Valley Baptist Church with Rev. D. H. Kilgore, Rev. Carl Ash and Rev. Ralph Sneed officiating.
    Burial will be made in Highland Cemetery.
    Active pallbearers: J. W. Johnson, Jess Hawk, Clarence Berry, John Lewis, Sanford Berry, John Messimer, Hubert Hardin and Miff Nave.
    Flower bearers: Mesdames Pete Taylor, Constance Elliott, Maggie Williams, Cecil Brumit, Anita Ferguson, Thelma Fletcher, Mary Hyder, Howard Elliott, Oscar Johnson, Grady Johnson, Willard Gouge, Pearl Lacy, Misses Wilmetta Elliott, Elizabeth Elliott, and Lucille Elliott.
    The body will be returned to the home Route 5, Elizabethton Wednesday afternoon.

    She was a homemaker.

    Funeral services for Mrs. Wilma Juanita Buckles, 80, were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2003 in Memorial Funeral Chapel.

    Entombment was held in the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park.

    Ola Maxine Elliott Estep, 76, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at her residence.
    A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Niles B. and Verna Faye Grindstaff Elliott. She was a 1954 graduate of Elizabethton High School. Maxine received her RN degree from the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She retired from the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center after 38 years of service.
    She was a member of the Business and Professional Women Club, a member of the Sycamore Chapter #163 Order of Eastern Star. Maxine was a member of the Grace Baptist Church and the Victory Sunday School Class and served in the Church Choir for a number of years.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Paul E. Estep, who died September 25, 2011.
    Survivors include Two Daughters: Kim Estep Wright and husband, Jeff, and Jill Estep Cooper and husband, Arthur, all of Johnson City; Three Grandchildren: Chris Wright, Jordan Wright and Whitney Wright; Two Great Grandchildren, Camden Wright and Gracie Wright; Several nieces & nephews; One Sister: Nilene Hopkins, Johnson City; Three Brothers-In-Law: George Estep Jr., Lee Edwin Estep and wife, Gay, all of Elizabethton, and Huey Estep and wife, Lydia, Arcadia, California; One Sister-In-Law: Johnie Estep, Elizabethton; Her special friends who assisted her with her care and never left her side: Nancy White, Corine Phillips, Lois Persinger and Kathleen Glover.
    Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Greer and Rev. Jimmy Hawk officiating.
    Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Chris Hughes and Rev. Richard Estep officiating. Music will be provided by the Grace Baptist Church Choir, led by Debbie Gouge. Active Pallbearers will be: Gary Grindstaff, Jonathan Grindstaff, Mike Hodge, Christopher Hawk, Tim Hawk, Todd Hawk, Keith Johnson and Ricky Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Victory Sunday School Class and members of Grace Baptist Church, Staff of Memorial Funeral Chapel, Co-Workers from the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center and the Board of Directors and employees of Elizabethton Federal Savings Bank.
    The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to the staff of Amedisys Hospice, Judy Vines and Sharon Clawson.

    Ola married Paul Elwin Estep about 1955 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Paul (son of George Hobart Estep and Lillie Bessie Norris) was born on 14 Mar 1933 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died on 25 Sep 2011 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Happy Valley Memorial Park, , Carter County, Tennessee.     ELIZABETHTON - Teresa A. Buckles, 72, Elizabethton passed away on Friday, May 10, 2019 at the Hermitage Health Care Facility, after an extended illness.

    A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Juanita Elliott Buckles. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Eddie Buckles. She was a Graduate of Unaka High School and attended East Tennessee State University. Teresa was a Medical Administrative Assistant, at the Mountain Home Veteran's Hospital, and retired after over 40 years of service. She was a member of Lynn Valley Baptist Church. Teresa loved to travel with her dear friends and spend time with her family.

    Survivors include her niece, Tracy Buckles and nephew, Lance (Sissy) Buckles. She also left behind her sister-in-law, Shirley Buckles. Teresa leaves behind a great nephew, Chris (Morgan) Buckles and a great great niece, Mackenzie Blevins. She will also be greatly missed by her special friends, Ella Carol Peters, Alma Montgomery, and Phyllis Little.

    It was Teresa's wish to be cremated and have a private Celebration of her Life by her close family. The family would like to express gratitude to Hermitage Health Care Facility for the excellent care.
