    KINGSPORT — Mrs. Dessie M. Weaver, 83, of Kingsport passed away on Monday (Sept. 3, 2007) at the Oaks at Forsyth Nursing Home in Winston-Salem, N.C.

    She was born in Greene County and lived in Johnson City and Kingsport most of her life. She was of the Presbyterian Faith and worked in the health care field, most of her life.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer T. Weaver; her parents, Yancel "Cap" and Kathleen McGhee; sisters, Grace Bishop, Florence Crawford, Anna Lee Tucker; brothers, Hughie, Harold, Basil, John B. and James Leonard McGhee.

    Dessie is survived by her three sisters and brothers- in-law, Harold and Wanda Copas, of Kingsport, Joel and Doris Fish, of Gray, Lynice Broyles, of Gray; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Sam and Jane McGhee, of Gray and Jerry and Brenda McGhee, of Gray; a special niece, Lou Weaver Nance and husband, Larry, of Kernersville, N.C.; along with several nieces and nephews.

    Visiting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday in the Wayne J. Hamilton Memorial Chapel at Oak Hill Memorial Park with the funeral service following in the chapel conducted by Rev. Victor Wallace.

    Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Garden of the Sermon on the Mount at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

    Pallbearers will be family and friends.
