SOLOMAN DELOATCH - WILL

Know all men by these presents that I Soloman Deloatch of Northampton County Wiccacanee township and State of North Carolina, being of sound mind and aware of the uncertainty of life, do make this my last will and testament.
Item 1st - I desire my just and honest debts shall be paid out of my personal property.
Item 2nd I give to my son William Deloatch the tract of land on which late resided known as my home tract containing about four hundred and fifty acres bounded by the lands of J. W. Garris, Jr. T. H. Garris and others.
Item 3rd. I give to my son William Deloatch the tract of land on which I now reside and known as Britton Edwards tract of land and contains about two hundred and eight acres.
Item 4th. I give to my son William Deloatch the Gin house and lot of lands on which it stands situated near Galatia Church containing about 1 & ¼ acres.
Item 5th. I give to my grandson Benjamin Franklin Story my tract of land known as the Whitehead tract containing about two hundred & sixty five acres. It is my will if said Benjamin Franklin Story dies without children then the said Whitehead land shall return to my son William Deloatch and his heirs forever.
Item 6th. I give to my grandson Benjamin F. Story the 2nd choice of my horses or mules that I may have at my death. Also I give to my grandson Benjamin F. Story one sow and pigs - and five stands of my bees. Also the Feather bed and stead which I now lye on.
Item 7th. I give to my son William Deloatch my Steam Engine saw mill and cotton gin.
Item 8th. I give to my son William Deloatch all of the balance of my personal property of every description that I may die seized and possessed of, except that disposed of in Item 6th of the above.
Item 9th. I desire that my son William Deloatch shall settle my estate and hereby constitute him my sole Executor of this my last will and testament.

A paper purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of Solomon Deloatch deceased, is exhibited before me, the undersigned Clerk of the Superior Court for said County, by William Deloatch the executor therein mentioned, and the due execution thereof by the said Solomon Deloatch by the oath and examination of R. H. Stancell and A. E. Story the subscribing witnesses thereto; who, being duly sworn, doth depose and say, and each for himself deposeth and saith that he is a subscribing witness to the paper - writing now shown him, purporting to be the last will and testament of Solomon Deloatch, that the said Solomon Deloatch in the presence of this deponent………..
