SALLEY DELOATCH WILL
In the Name of God Amen. I Salley Deloatch of Northampton County and the state of North Carolina being weak in my body but in my perfect sense and memory, knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament, and first I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it and my Body to the dust, to be buried in a Christian like manner at the Discretion of my Executor, and as for my wordly Estate which the Lord hath blessed me with, I give and dispose of in the following manner, and form Viz:
Item. I desire in the first place that all my Just Debts be paid.
Item. I give unto my Daughter Salley Deloatch One Negro man Jim to her and her heirs forever, and also one pair flatt Irons to her and her heirs forever.
Item. I give unto my Daughter Temperence Deloatch One Negro woman Chloe and her increase to her and her heirs forever. Also, One pair flatt Irons to she and her heirs forever. Also, my looking glass to she and her heirs forever.
Item. I give unto my Daughter Polley Deloatch One Feather Bed and furniture to she and her heirs forever. Also, my flase (vase?) wheel to she and her heirs forever.
Item. I give unto my Daughter Salley Deloatch One Feather Bed and furniture to she and her heirs forever.
Item. I give unto my Daughter Temperence Deloatch One Feather Bed and furniture to she and her heirs forever. Also, One Walnut Table to she and her heirs forever.
Item. I give unto my Son William Deloatch One Feather Bed and furniture to him and his heirs forever.
Item. I give unto my Daughter Salley Deloatch One Blue Chest to she and her heirs forever.
Item. I give unto my Son Jesse Deloatch One Feather Bed and furniture whereon I now lie. Also, six setting chairs to him and his heirs forever.
Item. I give unto my Daughter Elizabeth Smith One cow and calf to she and her heirs forever.
Item. I give unto my Daughter Martha Barkley One cow and calf to she and her heirs forever.
Item. I give unto my Daughter Nancy Easley One cow and Calf to she and her heirs forever.
Item. I give unto my Daughter Polley Deloatch One Loom and gier to she and her heirs forever.
The balance of my property not named I leave to be Sold and my Just Debts paid out of it, and the balance I give unto my Son William Deloatch whom I like wise appoint my whole and Sole Executor to this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this 23rd day of December 1821.
