FRANCIS DELOATCH'S WILL

In the name of God Amen.

      I Francis Deloatch of N.ampton County and State of N. Carolina being of sound mind and memory thanks be to God for the same, but considering the mortality of my body and knowing that I must die, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following: first I recommend my body to the grave to be buried in a Christian like manner and my sole I commend to God who gave it, and as touching all such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bestow on me, I give and dispose of in manner and form following vizt.

      First I give and bequeath to my son William Deloatch the land and plantation whereon he now lives with two hundred acres of land adjoining thereto, also I give & bequeath unto my son William Deloatch the following Negroes to wit Bob, Angy and Wilson to him and his heirs forever.

      Item, I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Deloatch the land and plantation whereon he now lives, also the land plantation I purchased of Jethro Sikes, also I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Deloatch, the following Negroes, Lucy, Jim and Ned, to him and his heirs forever.

      Item, I give and bequeath unto my son James Deloatch the land and plantation whereon Elisha Parks formerly lived, with one hundred and fifty acres of land adjoining thereto, also I give to my son James Deloatch the following Negroes to wit, Amy and Corde and Omy to him and his heirs forever.

      Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Dolly Deloatch the following negroes, to wit, Penny, Exum and Jordan to hear and her heirs forever.

      Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Polly Deloatch the following negroes, to wit, Sam, Corde and Saley to her and her heirs forever.

      Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Milly Bristar the following negroes, to wit, Abram, Hanner & Rody and five shillings currency.

      Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Nancy Edward the land and plantation whereon she now lives, also I give unto my daughter Nancy Edwards the following negroes Parhance and Ben and five shillings, currency to her and her heirs forever.

      Item. I give and bequeath unto my son Francis Deloatch the following Negroes, to wit, Littleton, Berry & Susan to him and his heirs forever.

      Item. I lend unto my beloved wife, Elizabeth Deloatch the land and plantation whereon I now live also all my Negroes that I have not before given away, also all my stock of all kinds household and kitchen furniture, that is to say after selling as much of the balloons of my property that was not given to my children as will satisfy all my debts. I lend the balance of my property to my beloved wife during her natural life, and after her death I give unto my son Francis Deloatch the land and plantation whereon I now live with four hundred acres of land, be the same nore or less and my will and desire is that after the death of my wife Elizabeth Deloatch that all the remainder of my property that I lend until my beloved wife be equally divided between William Deloatch, Thomas Deloatch, James deloatch, Dolly Deloatch, Polly Deloatch, Francis Deloatch to them and their heirs forever, except my land that was lent to my beloved wife, that I give to my son Francis Deloatch, after the death of my beloved wife to him and his heirs forever, and I do nominate and appoint William Deloatch, Elizabeth Deloatch and Presley Pritchard my whole and sole extors. To this my last Will and Testament in witness my hand and seal this 25th day of July, 1808.

      Northampton, December Court 1814. This last Will and Testament of Francis Deloatch dead was proved in open Court by the oath of Presley Pritchard one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, and by the oath of the said Presley Pritchard who proved the hand writing of William Pope the other subscribing witness, whereupon the said Presley Pritchard was qualified executor thereof according to law, and the said will was ordered to be certified and recorded.
