The DeLoach Cemetery

Old Greenwood Plantation
On the Savannah River, South Carolina

In the book, "Deep Enough For Ivorybills", James Kilgo stumbled upon the DeLoach Family Cemetery located on the Old Greenwood Plantation. On page 115 of the book, he provides the following information from the tombstone inscriptions.

DeLoach, David Died on 13 July 1815. Age 63

DeLoach, Rebeckah Died on 10 Oct 1807. Age 40

Wife of David

DeLoach, James Died 1824. Age 27

DeLoach, Sarah Died 1825

Wife of James

DeLoach, David Infant Died Feb 1795

DeLoach, Jepthah Infant Died Mar 1805

DeLoach, Elevia Died 27 Nov 1822. Age 18

Wife of William B. DeLoach

This David DeLoach is the one who was born in South Carolina in 1752. The several published DeLoach Family Histories disagree concerning who was David's father, and who were his children. The information from this cemetery is part of the very little data which can be verified for this family.
