MRS. LAURA ANN VANHUSS
Mrs. Laura Ann Vanhuss, 72, died in a local hospital at one-thirty o'clock, after a short illness. Mrs. Vanhuss was the widow of the late John Frank Vanhuss, who died four years ago. A son Brown Vanhuss also is dead. Mrs. Vanhuss was a native of Carter County, and member of the Charity Hill Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Haskel Felty, Mrs. Leon Cardwell, Mrs. W. M. Myers all of Elizabethton; six sons, Bob, Bowman, Craford, Cecil and Walter “Buck” of Elizabethton, Ray of Mt. City; three sisters, Mrs. John Henry of Telford, Mrs. Austin Nave of Siam, Mrs. Bill Martin of Elizabethton; four brothers, Monroe Treadway, W. L. Treadway, C. E. Treadway, Bowman Treadway, all of Elizabethton; eighteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Siam Baptist Church Friday afternoon at three o'clock with the Rev. E. W. Baldwin in charge, assisted by Rev. Willis Allen, and Rev. John Fineout.
Burial will be made in Happy Valley Memorial Park.
Music will be under the direction of Mrs. Robert Pettitt.

Flower bearers, Geneva Nave, Mae Treadway, Emma Hyder, Maude Hyder, Phylis Jean, Clotelle Hardin, Grace Wilcox, Clarice Hathaway, Mae Heaton, Hattie Ellis, Elizabeth Spurgill, Irene Moore, Mrs. George Treadway, Peal Henry, Bess Shields, Mary Geisler, Doris Campbell, Mayme Shull, Cleo Lowe, Ann Felty, Lillie Williams, Stella Howell, Veda Morrell, Armete Myers, Margarette Crowe, Dolly Kate Thompson, Marjorie Estep, and Joan Cardwell.
Pallbearers and flower bearers are requested to be at the church at 2:30 p.m.
The body will be returned to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leon Cardwell, States Line Road, Thursday afternoon and will remain there until Friday at 1:30 p.m. when it will be removed to the church until time for the service.
