B. A. Lipford Dies After Long Illness.
B. A. Lipford, age 72, died at his home on Pine Street, Sunday morning at 3:20 o'clock after an illness of several weeks.
Mr. Lipford was owner and operator of the Lipford Coal Company here and was in business in Butler prior to coming here. He was a member of the Butler Christian Church.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. B. A. Lipford, two daughters, Mrs. R. A. Phillippi, Lenoir City, Mrs. A. C. Farthing, Oak Ridge; two sons, Kermit Lipford, Wilmington, Del., Pfc. Beverly A. Lipford, Jr., U. S. Army in Munich, Germany; two sisters, Mrs. Edward E. Slemp, Elizabethton, Miss Mollie Lipford, Elizabethton, one granddaughter, Mary Lou Peters, three grandsons, Beverly Jack Lipford, Wayne Farthing, Kermit Lipford, Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 10:00 o'clock at the Butler Christian Church with Rev. J. J. Musick and the Rev. Craig Morton officiating.
Music will be in charge of Luther Hampton.
Burial will be in Butler Cemetery.
The funeral cortege will leave the home at 9:00 o'clock Tuesday morning.
Active pallbearers will be Arnold Ward, Taylor Morrell, Walter Edens, R. H. Ritchie, Oliver Netherly, Vascoe Howell, Clyde Russell, Fred Carter, S. C. Ball.
The body will be removed to the home, 701 Pine Street, Monday afternoon at 4:00 o'clock.
