- ELIZABETHTON - Donald Eugene Williams, 93, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, in the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. A native of Carter County, he was born May 25, 1930, in Big Stone Gap, Virginia to the late Alfonzo & Pearl Pierce Williams. He had lived in Carter County for a number of years. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Inland Container after 37 years of service. In earlier years he loved to hunt and fish. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Eva Williams, three sisters: Gertrude Bradley, Reba Lane and Kathleen Cornett and three brothers: Jack, Palmer and A.F. Williams.
Survivors include his brother: James Marion “Jim” Williams. Also, several nieces and nephews.
