Leo N. Michael , 83, of the 1400 block of Carolyn Drive, a retired restaurateur, died Nov. 24, 1992, in his residence.
Mr. Michael, a real estate owner, was a native of Kaimakli, Cyprus. He was the retired owner of the King of the Sea Restaurant and former owner of the Excellent Restaurant, both in Virginia Beach. He was the widower of Athena F. Michael. He was a charter member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Virginia Beach, and a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation in Norfolk. Mr. Michael was a former member of the board of trustees of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation and the Virginia Beach Restaurant Association. He was a member of the Ahepa and the Cyprus Benevolent Society.
Survivors include a daughter, Irene M. Koontz of Virginia Beach; two sons, Nicholas S. Michael and his wife Patsy, and Stephen L. Michael and his wife Bobbye; two sisters, Christine Minidakis and Helen Parsons; and four grandchildren, Charlotte, Stephan and Joey Michael and Hugh Koontz; and a great-granddaughter, Kayla Michael.
A church service will be conducted at noon Friday in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church by Father George I. Paulson. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. There will be a Trisagion service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel. Following the service, the family will receive friends until 9 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund or to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad.
