- It is with mixed emotions that we announce the passing of Willa Dean Pierce, our beloved sister. We are saddened for no longer having her with us here, but overjoyed as she has been reunited with Mom, Dad, Christine and Carroll. Everyone loved Willa and we believe it was this love that kept her with us for 67 years. A native of Carter County and current resident of The Sevier House in Unicoi, she was the daughter of the late Ambers & Maggie Peters Pierce. Willa was a part of the Union Hill FWB Church family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister & brother-in-law Christine and W.J. Nave and a brother, Carroll Pierce.
Survivors include a sister: Nadine Crews, Elizabethton, Her brothers: Paul Pierce, William Pierce, both of Elizabethton, and Walter Pierce & his wife Loretta, Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with her nephew Rev. Bryan Smith and Rev. Roger Hayley officiating. Interment will follow in the Buckles Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
